Title: Geysers at Disneyland Paris
Post by: rallyrob on September 01, 2013, 06:33:42 PM
I was walking around the park as a first timer at the park and saw on the guide map that there was a set of geysers next to boot hill in frontierland but when i arrived at set geysers they looked like they had not been used for some time like a forgotten attraction or a half built attraction. I was wondering what the attraction was or was a part of because i am fascinated by Disney park secrets and history. I visited the part on the 26/08/13

Yeah, it's quite sad they sit there dormant. I've seen them last working in 2008, they broke down shortly after.  Appearently it's very expensive to repare them.

Surely if they repair them, it'll be a good investment - seeing as they worked for 16 years before they broke the first time.
Here's hoping for a complete refurb of the whole rivers a la California style, even though that's probably completely unrealistic  :(

They actually worked for less than that. Originally there were several vertical and one tilted geyser as well as steam effects. The last few years we were lucky when one of the geysers worked.

I haven't seen the geysers working for many years. There were a few small ones that constantly let off steam and one big one that only blew occasionally, we called it "old faithful" after the one in Yellowstone Park. It would be nice to see them blow off some steam again. :)

It would be such a good add to the riverboats and kneeboats

I recently saw the geysir in Iceland and it was awesome indeed, but I'd dearly love to see these working again  :)  Not in time for our upcoming trip, i'm guessing, but one day I hope to be pleasantly surprised!

UPDATE ABOUT THE GEYSERS FROM THE NEW & NEXT EVENT SEPTEMBER 26 2013

Quote@magicforum  Joe Schott, chief operating officer said  regarding the geysers, they were no priority and they will never come back as the used to be, but something will eventually replace the geysers that will be equally unique.
