Hey everyone, being a continuing visitor of dlrp since the early 2000's, I've always walked passed space mountain and thought to myself "i'll never go on there". only my last trip have I finally built up enough courage to go on it, after reading from the earth to the moon and researching the ride.
I went on it with the belief that they'd play the original soundtrack, and I was sad to find out it hadn't been there since the 2005 update. So it got me thinking that if they decide to change it back to the classic attraction, would they change the music as well?
Hopefully they will, but the music is scored in time to the ride, and it now launches from the bottom of the cannon whereas the original launched you from halfway up, so it would be much more work than just flicking a switch. I take it your research took in the excellent BBC documentary?

yes, that and a few other things, like fan pages. despite my disappointment at the music not being there, it's still become my favourite ride in the whole resort. I also have a solution for the bad music timing, by filling the empty space with the tunnel music from the wdw version of space mountain

What documentary is that? Never seen or heard of it, is it recent / old, is it available anywhere?
thanks

Thanks very much, I'll check it out.
I really hope they rebrand this ride to its magnificent glory. I actually almost never ride it anymore since the rebrand. I just miss the atmosphere of Jules Verne it used to have. The theming, the moon, the music. It all had been merged perfectly into the experience. It just has not the sparkle anymore, and it is just a ride. That combined with the headache trains... no, I'll pass. Enough other beautiful rides. :)

Like I said in my previous post I was never able to ride it in the old days, so I envy that you we're able to. but just wondering have you ever read the book? it gives you an appreciation on what from the earth to the moon references they have left.
