We're off to Disney soon (yey!) and Im planning what rides to go on. My son is only 5 but fearless. He really wants to go onto space mountain but I've read it can bang your head about a bit? I'm not worried about it being too scary for him but maybe a bit violent. Has anybody been on it recently? What did you think?
I've been on it last year... although I enjoy riding rollercoasters in general, I have to say Space Mountain was kind of rough at times... I got pushed really hard into the safety bar... so that my shoulders did hurt a little... I don't know If I would take a five year old... probably not, only if they could assure that they solved that issue...
Hope I could help :)
Same here. I found the ride pretty bumpy! Was on it last year. There is a height restricton for it. Your son would need to be 120cm. (I think) someone correct me if I`m wrong! I think it has to do how one sits in these seats, where the head rests. If higher or lower in the seat(can`t explain it better  )
Have fun on your trip!

Hmmm, not worried about the night restriction he's very tall for his age. But does sound a bit rough, will try and talk him out of it thanks :)

Here's a link I found... apparently the height requirement is 132 cm ...
I went on it in January. Yes, it is bumpy but I found that if you sat in the back of the car (so a row with an even number) it is more bearable.
Why not ride it first yourself and see what you think and then gauge if you think it would be OK for your son or not.
My 8 year old cousin in law went on it and loved it, actually preferred it to Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and didn't find it rough at all. Maybe being a bit smaller helps?
Unfortunately I couldn't leave my husband with both kids while I went on a ride, he's disabled and would struggle too much. Last time we measured cam he was 138cm and that was last year so not worried about height. ;) hes tall for his age anyway and will turn 6 while we're there so hes more 6 than 5 now i guess :( think I'm going to talk to him about it and see what he says. Suppose worst case senario he gets a bit bumped about, probably no worse than when he plays with his friends lol thanks for the help :) I like being able to prepare him with what happens before we go on things. Probably more comforting to me than him granted! He's a little daredevil, went on crush and big thunder mountain last time we went and he was only 3 and a half then. My mum swore she'd never go on crush again, Cameron was begging for a second go. :)
i was on it over easter this year and it on a couple of our rides it was bumpy, the smoothest ride for us was when we where in the middle cars (so not the first 2 rows or the back 2 rows when looking at the whole train) so if you decide to go on it try and get in the middle of the train, i think if i remember rightly the numbers for the rows go from 1-8 so try for rows 3-6 and you will get a better smoother ride
When we were on it last year it gave me a headache because of the hard banging as you went around the ride, but they did a fairly lengthy refurbishment towards the end of last year and when we were back there in Feb it was a much smoother ride! Would highly recommend once again ;) !

That sounds awesome, cause I really used to like this ride... but after last time, I wasn't sure if I should ride it anymore... But maybe now I will give it another try^^ :)
Its very bumpy, it particuilarly hurts if you are short and your head doesn't get cushioned at either side in the head restraints. We won't ride it anymore, it spoils our whole day,
Its been like this ever since the cra ppy, tacky "Mission 2" upgrade.
I wish they'd go back to the old theme.
