When entering the parc to you have your own special rite? Is it something special, touching or do you just have in mind to run to the first ride?
I always take a deep breath when putting my ticket into the turnslide at the entrance, and take the first step into the parc beeing very very very glad to be back.
Then I try to catch the first train and have a ride around the parc to check if everything is still there where it should be.
Just the way an slow start into a wonderful day full of enjoyment should be.
I like to go to the railroad especially when I'm with ones there for the first time. I gives such an lovely impression over the whole parc.
Is there someone kissing the floor when arriving? <!-- s:-D -->:-D<!-- s:-D -->
I'm more practical I guess... :) Usually we arrive at noon... after we check in to our hotel we go to the studios and see cinemagique or another show which is about to start... but cinemagique is my favorite in the studios... when we did as much as we could do at the studios and they are about to close we go over to disneyland parc and take a lot of time going down main street... last time we didn't wanna see the castle until the very end... so we did go through the arcades... and worked our way back through the shops... and when we arrived at the pavillion at town square... we turned at it was just magical :) sounds pretty silly :D but it was totally worth it...
We normally head straight to Earls for a bite to eat - we normally arrive about midday. We then head into the studios due to it being the afternoon.
We always plan the days according to what we want to go on. This year is going to be a bit crazy because we are going with friends as well as being a large family group (13 of us- 6 kids) so have to take them into consideration. I know at least my friend doesn't do a lot of the rides so it's just the kids to sort out.
When entering the main park i like to stand when we get through the gates and remember past years. I like to think i can become a child again for the next few days and my children don't think i'm being silly :-D
I'm still trying to understand the strange noise that the ticket machine makes! I think it may be the word "welcome"but I'm not sure!

That's hysterical Captain Rocket! =D> I've never noticed and as we have just got back it's a long wait until i can listen out for the 'welcome!'

Wow, that's really touching!
They could use your quote in their advertisements :-)
I allways head straight for Fantasyland through the castle and go on "Blanche neige.." followed by a visit to the Dwarfs cottage shop next door. It has allways been my favourite ride and shop in the park ever since I was a child- from the ride itself to all the little details like the characters backdrop. I was huge fan of Snow white when I was a child- and the theming with her still makes me very happy.
Hi all my thing is i have to walk under the middle of the train station everytime i enter the park and when i leave again and alwats walk through the castle aswell when goin into fantasyland and the funny noise when puttin your pass through the turnstile is when u have eaithet donald or daisy and it is them saying wel :donald: :mickey2: :minnie: come the reason i know is i took my neice and it happened when she put the pass in

Oh, that sound wonderful. I love tha arcades and the shops at main street. And don't forget to have a delicisios brownie at Cable Car Bake Shop !!
Hi
When we first arrive, we will often pop into the Disneyland Hotel to reacquaint with the lovely smell that floats around in there! Then we'll enter the turnstiles (each saying "Welcome" in that funny voice), next it's a stroll up Main Street USA, gazing at the castle view, and ultimately we'll head for Buzz as our first ride of the trip! :D

I'll keep that in mind for the next time :)

you are correct, it really says "welcome"...but not every time, it is a randomized action
First thing we do is get our green card for handicapped ppl, then either hop the railroad or see if we can get a ride on BTM
Our special rite takes place on the Eurostar before we arrive. A mad game of Disney snap, whoever wins gets to pick the first ride
WhenI first enter through the turnstiles, I spend time just strolling through Mainstreet, checking out the shops for a new ornament or add to my collection of watches. Once we've had a look around the shops it's straight onto Frontierland to my favourite ride BTM, after that I'm happy to go with the flow. :D
I always have a slow walk down Main Street soaking up the atomosphere and looking in at the new window displays then i heard to fantasyland through the castle :-D
When I go to Disney Land California, we head straight for Captain EO first.
On my first trip to DisneyLand Paris I went on the train first, and did one complete circuit from Main Street and I was thinking of doing this again on my next trip :)
we tend to start off with th studios on our first day, since its opening we have began our trips by dropping in with the tower, then after a little while wandering around the studios... we move on to the park.... in the main park we usually start off by taking some pictures of our castle.... then we move on and it changes every time =]
We always go to the main park first! Throu the turnstiles and then stop to gaze at the castle fron underneath the railroad! Then walk down Mainstreet at have a look around! Some window shopping. And then we try to do a ride! Last year ,as it was raining, we went to see Mickey`s new meet n`greet first. Was nice and dry ;)

not really I guess,
the only thing I really love to do before i'm in disney, is making a whole plan. (I know that I can't do anything on that but it's fun to do it)
I always walk up Main Street and look at the shop windows, but after reading these posts I like the sound of using the Disneyland Railroad first though! Might have to try that next time! :D
I like to take my time, until I see the castle and then I have to decide whether to savour the moment or run off and do everything!
When we first arrive (usually by Eurostar) we head straight to Annettes for lunch- it just doesn't feel right f we don't!
My first stop is always the shops! Then I start taking as many pictures as I can. The rides are usually an afterthought lol

I normally avoid the shop because I know I'm going to spend ages in them during the whole trip!

I absolutely love that idea! I think I might try that!
I always have a tradition of going straight to Phantom Manor because I love it so much. Its a small world always comes straight afterwards though because it's my sister's favourite.
My special rite is : for sure not to run, contemplate and take a picture of the castle, and then have a coffee at market house deli :)
My first ride is generally Buzz, but if come late enough I would definitely run for POTC!

I am also in the process of making a Plan. It's exciting to compile a list of Must Do's, Must Eat at's etc...I had a great few hours this week talking the plan over with my son when we met for lunch and it really adds to the excitement! I was able to surprise him with the news that I'd bought Fantasy Passport soooo that means we have an excuse to go back within a year :D We don't have rituals but I do know that when I reach Main Street and look around I ALWAYS shed a tear. Such a soppy childish thing to do, but I can't help it. I even got teary eyed when my son played me the Disney Cruise horn tunes from youtube. Look it up and I guarantee you too will be moved by it :)
I always go straight to Harrington's to buy a new sparkly figure-then to POTC!
I always say "I am home" when I enter the park. Some people then think I am crazy, others... No, wait. All of them think I am crazy.
Lots of other rites during the stay though...
Ohhh, whis "Welcome" at the entrance is so touching!
We love to start with something easy and calm. We make a train round through the parc or we walk Main Street and smile all the time, looking around, looking at each other , then we make a journey with Molly Brown (Mark Twain) and we are ready for the real adventure. Next stop - Fantom Manor :P
I am just back from there and I miss it already sooo much!

No way!!! I do that too!!! :o When I come out of the eurostar station and into the Disney Village, I have to say it to myself.

It does say welcome as once I was the only person using a turnstile at the time.
Although most of the time it sounds like a sneeze crossed with the sounds of passion if you get me
Once through the ticket machine, we keep looking at the floor until we come out of the station. We then count to three and open our eyes altogether. Then when we can see through the tears, take a big sigh(like a welcome home sigh) then slowly walk down Main Street, soaking in the atmosphere. Over to the castle, tough the castle at the top of the ramp on the right hand side. Big smiles then off the buzz lightyear. Our party consists of 6 of us ranging from 14 - 72
Going on the 16th December and will do it all again x
We always take it easy when entering the park. We walk around in Main Street, being in awe of the new merchandise, and I always buy one of those big Croque Monsieurs at the end of Main Street. Those are just to die for. Main Street is the first thing we do, and we take our time because we usually arrive very early.
After Main Street, we always go to Peter Pan's Flight. It's always crowded, but not so much in the morning. And then we eat, eat, go in attractions, eat, buy, eat. Nom nom.
Not really have a rite when entering the park. I usually have one BEFORE entering the park. I always pay a little visit to our tile in the gardens in front of the entrance :) My parents bought it when we used to visit it as a family in the past and it has my name and those of my siblings on there, always nice to see it and it's a wake up call that I'm actually there again :)
Most of the time we start getting a fastpass by Peter Pan... Because these are very popular by the most of the guests.
