It has just been announced that the number of shares you must hold to qualify for membership of the shareholders club and the benefits that bestows on members has been increased to 100 shares!
The new rules come into force for all new requests and renewals from 01 October.
The email says that you will still receive discounts etc with a smaller holding of shares, so I guess that the main loss must be entry to Salon Mickey!
Those members who have held shares since 2000 will still qualify for membership with a smaller shareholding.
I can't say I am surprised as the small number of shares people like me hold (20) made the shareholders club a great bargain, one of the few really great benefits from DLRP!
I must be one of the luckiest members around, my membership renewal was confirmed on Tuesday, so I now have two years to get those extra 80 shares!
The last time we went into Salon Mickey it was very busy, we could hardly find a seat so I'm not surprised that they have changed the rules. We're lucky members too, because we joined before 2000.
I've noticed that as well,on my last few visits the number of people in Salon Mickey has certainly grown! One solution may have been to limit visitors to one friend only and keep the four guests as family members only, Bur DLRP have obviously decided to try to sell a few more shares!

When I first joined the shareholders Club, I would have needed 1000 shares to get free membership if I remember rightly, no Salon Mickey back then.
I've re read the email and it appears my earlier assumption was wrong. You will continue to benefit from shareholders discount provided you hold a valid shareholders club membership card, and your renewal of this card will only be valid if you hold 100 shares or bought your shares pre 2000.
My 25 share note arrived in the post today, which is great as today is my Birthday and the shares are a birthday present from my Husband and darling daughter Tangled13 :D
But after seeing this I have just tried to join the share club online and it's not letting you load it, it can't be found
Any ideas? Please x
They may have disabled that function to stop people rushing at the last minute, but you should still be entitled to join now . I suggest you give them a call tomorrow on 33 (0) 1 64 74 56 30 or fax them on 33 (0) 1 64 74 56 36. If you have a printed contract note, they will accept this information by fax.
Good luck, I hope you sort this.
Hi captain rocket thank you very much! One more question do you know what other information you need to do this? :)
Thank you! :)
Little mermaid 240. I have sent you a PM, please reply as soon as poss as I have to start work at 0600 tomorrow and will be off to bed soon!
Our messages crossed Littlemermaid 240! You just need to send an application form, which I can email you if you send me your email address by PM and the copy of your contract note displaying your share ownership. If your message arrives after I have gone to bed, my wife will email the application form to you.
Thanks message PM'd :)

Hi captain rocket,I don't suppose there's any chance you could email me the application form also is there?
Sorry I know it's cheeky but its just that i need to renew my card as it expires this month so I want to get in before the share increase but I can't get into the personal section on the website the same as others have said.
I assuming its the same form?
Or little mermaid if captain has emailed it to you could you email the form to me,as I've now noticed captain is off line.
Pleeeease.xx
I've also drop Captain Rocket and Little Mermaid 240 a PM asking if I could have a copy of the form. Now in a hurry to renew!.
Thanks
Iain
I know, how mean is it of them to give us such short notice, and being that it's Friday tomorrow and with all the applications they are going to get I can't see us renewing to be honest.
It's a bit poor to make this announcement at short notice, and then "break" the "Personal Space" portal so that we can't even try and renew.
But I'd still like to get the paperwork into them tomorrow - at least it would be dated as having been received BEFORE the 1st October, and hopefully this will swing it for us.
Hi
I will do, but I think he must have gone to bed as I've not got the email yet :)
Although I begrudgingly agree with FLOOKIE that's its kinda too late! :(

The trouble is,I feel, that if you think of the amount of people that will be trying to rush their renewals through, how many will they conveniently lose??
It's all about money on their part, they are hugely in debt and are trying to make more money out of us for a few perks.
It's just not fair on us poor folk who can't afford 100 shares!!

Thank you so much Hun,at least if we have the form we might stand a fighting chance but then it's is up to them if they let the forms through by Sunday.
Have to say I'm not that hopefull but it's worth a shot.x
We maybe in luck. The T&Cs of the new (and I assume old) General Conditions documents says:
"For renewal request, the issuance of a new card is subject to the general conditions in force at the date of request and the submitting of the documents listed above".
Given that (in theory) our documents will be them tomorrow (hopefully) - then at the "date of request" (ie tomorrow) the general conditions state that you need a minimum of 5 shares still. The new General Conditions don't come into effect until Monday 1st October.
At least that is what I would "argue" with them if necessary!.
Here's hoping Hun.
At this point that's all we can do.
I'm just so annoyed that they left it so late.We arnt going to dlrp this year(I'm gutted) but circumstances dictate we can't,so I wasent that bothered about renewing "on time" then I get this email this morning and now I've got to stress myself out trying to get it done before it expires on Sunday!!
Not happy at all.
Flookie / Little Mermaid 240,
I've located me 2010 renewal paperwork, which I've had someone else confirm that the current form is the same.
If you PM me an email address I will sent you a PDF of the form (without my data). Normally it would be an electronic document completed by the shareholders website, but I can't see why they couldn't accept it with you have written the information by hand.
Incidently the first line "Card Number" - this is your current Shareholders Card number.
Little Mermaid 240 - you could try and use the same form and just leave the Card Number blank I guess.
It maybe tomorrow morning now before I can send out the forms.
Regards
Iain
Iain, as long as your documents arrive at Euro Disney before October 1st, you will be able to renew without hassle. So you will need to fax, as snail mail will take too long. Problem is, their fax machine appears to be turned off outside of working hours, so: you need to fax those signed papers, along with proof of shares, TODAY!
I figured this out since I renewed last week (geez, lucky!) by faxing. My card expires October 31st, but now I've already had confirmation of my renewal so my new card for two years is in the mail; lucky me!!
The 100 shares limit is not the only thing they have changed. Read the clause on what to do when your card is lost or stolen. Before, you had to send a copy of the declaration of theft filed with the police department, and that was that: your new card would be sent to you. That has changed now: after sending in the declaration of theft filed with the police department, you now have to follow the regular renewal request procedure. So, say I lose my new card in a month or two, then I'm screwed - I'll have to buy an extra 80 shares before I can get a replacement card. I suppose they did this to prevent people "losing" their card all of a sudden in the coming year... :-?
Also, they've limited the number of people allowed to benefit from the discounts on meals.
P.S.: The website is available again: //http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/index-renew.xhtml?tab=tab3 You need to log into your Personal Space to get to the printable form.
Thanks for the email iain, website is up and running again now so i have submitted my request to renew online now i just have to fax the paperwork off.
so because i have applied online does that count as having renewed or is it now official until i fax off the documents??
Only thing is it does say that you cant fax a printed electronic copy of your shares statement to them as it wont be accepted, now does that mean a printout of your online account statement? because that is what i did last time and was planning on doing this time but now im not so sure. What did everyone else do??
Flookie, it is not official until they have received the signed document and proof of shares by fax, so hurry...! You will get another e-mail with an official confirmation of your renewal once they have received all documents.
I had a hardcopy statement available, so I'm not sure if they would accept your print-out. Call them and make sure.
Hi - Mrs Capt Rocket here ( the one who does the tech stuff 8) ) . Did you get the emails OK Little Mermaid and IChapman? They were sent to you around 21:15H last night (and again at 05:45 this morning to LM) and we haven't had a failure message.
Worth checking your spam folders as they might have been zapped into there since they had 2 fairly big attachments if you haven't received them yet. If not then we can try again this pm. :|
Hi thank you for your help  You were right it ended up in the junk file.
I managed to apply online while it was working this morning!
Fingers crossed!
Thank you for your help! :D
Hello Mrs Capt Rocket - I didn't get the email, but I am "sorted".
Thank you
Iain
Confirmation has just come through :D
Thanks for all your help
FLOOKIE I really don't like to give bad news, but they will not accept a print of online documentation. I recently renewed and had to get a contract note from the Halifax before they would proceed. You should try anyway, but I think you may have a problem. Sorry.
I can see why they have upped the shares. When we were in Salon Mickey in August not only was it packed (Dylan and i had to stand along with many others as there were no seats available) but people had so much food on their tables it was ridiculous. I understood it was 1 cookie and drink per person yet people had 3/4 each and were going back for more!
Wow! What a busy day I've had reacting to this news!
My shareholder card expired in May, but I thought that I would leave the renewal until after my french exams in October! Obviously this all changed yesterday when I read the news. The official Euro Disney SCA Shareholders website was down last night, so I was spinning out a bit!
I must say a massive thank you to ICHAPMAN who very kindly emailed me the renewal form this morning. I called the Shareholders centre at DLP and spoke with a wonderful Cast Member there, I explained to her that I wanted to renew and that the site was down. She explained that it was a technical hitch there were experiencing (ça ne march pas!). She was happy for me to fax the details over to her today. I hand-filled in the renewal form and faxed it to them along with my Halifax Shares Contract Note. I called them 10 minutes later and they told me that they had received my faxes!
As a back-up, I have tried to fill in the renewal form online again tonight, as I had read that it was back up, but all I could access was the membership form. I have filled that in and I have received an email from the Shareholders Club to say that they have received my membership request! Hopefully, I've covered all bases, if it all goes wrong, at least I've tried!
Now...back to my french revision!
So excited
Contacting my bank tomorrow so hopefully will be a member VERY soon!!!

Lucky you! No way I'll be renewing now! Don't think I could warrant over £400. Will have to just use our ap's for discounts now!
Well it dosent look like I've been successfully in renewing!
I filled in my online form then finally managed to fax them through the necessary documents but have since had no reply so looks like no more salon mickey for us!
There is no way I will be buying the extra shares needed to renew my membership as it just I sent worthwhile.
Shame,good while it lasted.xx
Hi Flookie,
Depending on your view, don't lose hope just yet. The two renewals I tried to push through last week before the October 1st deadline also have had no acknowledgement as yet.
The General Conditions do say that:
"Every membership renewal request is subject to a processing period of up to two weeks, upon receipt of the documents. If you meet all the general conditions of the Shareholders Club, a confirmation will be sent by e-mail when the processing period is completed. Otherwise, the Shareholders Club will send you an e-mail specifying how to valid the application. Upon validation of the membership renewal by the Shareholders Club, your membership card will be mailed within approximately 4 to 6 weeks."
This suggest either way you will be contacted.
Regards
Iain.
Yes, I agree My application was refused because I sent the "wrong" information and they took a fortnight to contact me and this was before the rush of applications I assume they would have received last week! Don't give up hope yet!
I wouldn't worry yet Flookie, I renewed on the 14th August and didn't get a confirmation of renewal until 5th September, still waiting for my new card. It was more luck than judgement that I remembered to renew before my Sept. expiry, interestingly they have accepted my printout from the Halifax site, must depend on who receives the paperwork.
Thanks guys,will keep my fingers crossed that I get a reply,although I won't hold my breath.x
Oh dear...my other half just got a rejection email from the Shareholders Club. They rejected her as, they say she did not hold enough shares. She holds 20 shares.
Her renewal was dated, emailed and faxed on September 30th, and therefore technically before the new general conditions/rules came into affect.
I've (on her behalf) sent them a reply outlining this and requested that they reconsider.
However, this would suggest that despite the new conditions only coming into affect from October 1st, it seems you actually had to have your application with them by close of business on Friday 28th September maybe.....
Iain
Oh what a shame Iain. Hope they will honour it for you as you did it before 1st Oct! Fingers crossed
Mmmmm, more dissapointed customers through the 500% qualification share hike..
This is just proving more from the points raised here>> viewtopic.php?p=228222#p228222 (https://forum.dlpguide.com/viewtopic.php?p=228222#p228222%22%20target=%22_blank%22%20rel=%22nofollow)
