What's new, what's returning and what's not coming back for this year's Christmas season?
Christmas Cavalcade
All new cavalcade with toys coming to life set to a special Christmas version of Magic Everywhere.
Santa Claus Village
Santa Claus takes over Critter Corral once again, this year featuring a new entrance.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
A slightly revamped verison of the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Town Square.
Magic Castle Moment
The Castle Lighting Ceremony will this year use the fountains from Disney Dreams.
Santa Goofy and Duffy
Meet Santa Goofy on Town Square in his sleigh and Duffy near the Storybook Store.
Belle meet 'n' greet
Belle will meet guests at The Old Mill.
New Main Street decorations
The LED Princess chandeliers are not returning, instead garlands similar to the ones used in Disneyland California and Walt Disney World will decorate the street.
Snow Men shaped like Disney characters will decorate Central Plaza.
"its a small world celebration"
The popular seasonal lay-over of "it's a small world" has already returned.
Unconfirmed / not returning
Disney's Fantillusion
Despite rumours, Disney's Fantillusion will not be performed during this year's Christmas season.
New Christmas Tree
A new Christmas Tree was rumoured by @InsideDLParis, however the old one is currently up on Town Square. The new one will reportedly be used next year.
Mickey's Winter Wonderland
The Chaparral Theater won't be hosting any show this season.
Belle's Christmas Village
This Christmas Season-classic will not return this year.
Original post by Josh:I know it's really early to be starting this topic, but @InsideDLParis has just announced that, after 20 years, we'll be getting a new Christmas tree!
"Speaking of Christmas... did you know? This year, Town Square will hold a brand new 25 meter tall Christmas Tree! Happy 20th!"
I hope to God that it isn't that hideous Duffy tree they launched at WDW last year that was swiftly removed due to everyone with eyes hating it!
I'd love it to look like a traditional tree, but I get the impression it'll have a gimmick..
I also prefer a traditional Christmas Tree so hope the new one is not gimmicky or horribly modern. Only a traditional tree will be in keeping with Town Square and Main Street IMO.
Has anyone heard anything about Fantillusion running for Enchanted Christmas again this year? When I was there last Christmas the rumour was that this was the last appearance of Fantillusion, before being shipped over to one of the US parks. Then it was announced for Summer Time 2012. Is this summer definitely the last appearance of Fantillusion in DLP, now we have Dreams?
We don't know what's going on with Fantillusion. The most recent rumour is that Dreams was too expensive and they can't afford Fantillusion and Mickey's Winter Wonderland, but that could easily change.
Indeed, apparently there are going to be 14th of July fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle again this year, there was some doubt about that from one or two members of the forum because of Dreams. No extra fireworks this year because of Dreams, they had probably asked a CM in the Earl of Sandwich.
Quote from: "Josh"We don't know what's going on with Fantillusion. The most recent rumour is that Dreams was too expensive and they can't afford Fantillusion and Mickey's Winter Wonderland, but that could easily change.
I asked a CM on facebook and they said Fantillusion is definately not on this Christmas season.
What I want to know is when IASW is closing and reopening for it's make-over doesn't seem to be any dates. Anyone know what dates it closed and re-opened last year so can maybe judge by that?
Here is last years refurbs
http://www.dlrpmagic.com/calendar/closu ... -for-2011/ (http://www.dlrpmagic.com/calendar/closures-refurbishments/archive-for-2011/%22%20target=%22_blank%22%20rel=%22nofollow)
by that there could be quite a few fantasyland rides down on our trip :( They're the rides we like best because we're not into the thrill rides
I wouldn't always go by whats been done in the past. DLP can be habitual in their maintenance and refurbs but keep your fingers crossed that all the rides you want aren't down.
Judging by that list Casey Jr and Les Pays Du..... often run a limited operation schedule anyway especially at that time of year and Dumbo was only down for 2 days. Snow White being down for 4-5 days is a shame especially if those are the days you're going but again be hopeful that DLP dont use the same schedule every year.
Have a great trip
Disney's Enchanted Christmas 2012- Disney Dreams! Nighttime Spectacular
- NEW! La Cavalcade de Noël / The Christmas Cavalcade.
Santa Claus on his sleigh with the elves, dolls and soldiers. And of course Mickey, Minnie and all their friends on a special decorated float.
- La Cérémonie d'Illumination du Sapin de Noël / Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
- Le Village du Père Noël au Cottonwood Creek Ranch à Frontierland / Santa's Village at Cottonwood Creek Ranch in Frontierland.
- "it's a small world" Celebration.
- Meet 'n' Greet (Goofy, Santa, Winnie...).
We're losing this year the
Disney's Fantillusion Parade, Mickey et la Magie de l'Hiver, Belle's Village and temporarily Le Train du 20ème.
Source: DisneyCentralPlaza ForumSo this confirms that Disney's Fantillusion Parade will see its last performance this summer. At least, until Summer 2013.
New/ The Christmas Cavalcade. Looks like Disney have split the chrismas unit away from Disney Magic on parade. No Fantillusion, that's a shame, but then we've got Dreams instead so that's good.
It would be great if Glendale makes a Christmas special for Disney Dreams! Don't you think?
QuoteNew/ The Christmas Cavalcade. Looks like Disney have split the chrismas unit away from Disney Magic on parade.
Yes. And that's a good idea. I didn't like the pre-parade. It looked cheap and ridiculous.
Sadly no Belle's Village
NOOOOOO Fantillusion is gone! :(
does this all start on the 9th of November and is the regular one's then going to be running on say the 7th :)
Thats rubbish, no Fantillusion.
No, but Disney Dreams is amazing if you're going and haven't seen it, so you won't be disappointed.
Exactly. It's sad, but Fantillusion is now at death's door. It was a great and beautiful at the beginning, but now we must let it go, and wait for a new nighttime parade.
Obviously, we won't see a new parade in the near future.
gutted no fantillusion but i am looking forward to dreams!! so excited about a new christmas tree hope its looks beautiful. what about the ilumination of the castle?
I don't think they install it this year. It would ruin the projections.
Press release confirms no Fanti or MWW. It doesn't even mention the lighting of the castle.
Such a shame :(
Quote from: "Lorum"I don't think they install it this year. It would ruin the projections.
Sorry but how would it? The WDW castle has a billion more lights than the Paris castle and WDW was able to project Magic, Memories and you onto the castle with the lights up.
I for one am gutted that Fantillusion and Mickeys Winter Wonderland will not be on for Christmas season this year. Yes, we now have the amazing Disney Dreams, but I saw that 5 nights in June, and will again in October. That is on all year round.
I have two trips booked for Christmas season, in November and December, but am seriously considering cancelling one of them now that there will be no Fanti, MWW or Belles' Village. Wish I had booked for one of the Bonfire Nights instead, or Terrorific Nights / Halloween Night for something different. At least I would have seen Fanti again on Halloween Party Night.
I do like the short Christmas Parade which usually follows the main parade, and will be sad if Chante C'est Noel is also no more as this is a lovely Christmassy song. Christmas season is usually Magical, and should have these extra events. I am going with a friend for her first trip and 60th birthday in November, and she has so been looking forward to the electrical parade and ice skating show that I have spoken about - now I have to tell her they won't be on. Makes me feel guilty, and as if I have to apologise for DLP.
I usually go on a January trip for the end of Enchanted Christmas, but I won't be booking that now.
I am so gutted if all of this is true as am due to go in November especially for the christmas season! :-(
Could someone tell me where this info is coming from? Is it all just rumours or 100% accurate? As looking online I can't seem to find anything that has been officially said or posted by Disneyland Paris? It is just so we can decide how many days to go to the park for (we are staying offsite so need to get the park tickets next month).
Thank you!!

They could install it. Probably they'll do, because it's a Christmas icon in DLP. They could even use the lighting to interact with the show. But if you want to see the show near the Castle, glass/plastic bulbs will reflect/refract light beams. Then there are cables and structures. You'll be able to see Quasi, Rémy and Peter, of course. But now you have one more layer and the show wasn't programmed for that.
I am honestly more disappointed about MWW than Fanti. Dreams, I'm sure, will make up for Fanti but I REALLY can't see why they haven't put something on in the theatre. Last time I was there at Xmas, MWW was extremely popular!

No MWW will certainly be a disappointment.
what's MWW?
Quote from: "Aladar"what's MWW?
Mickey's Winter Wonderland.
Thanks!
With Dreams cutbacks have to be made. I know this is not good for those who wanted to see Fantillusion and MWW. But DLP sadly cannot afford it all this year.
Hopefully next year will be better once Dreams go to Weekends and High Season only.
Exactly.

WDW turn off the lights when MMAY is on. I honestly don't see why it would/should affect the Dreams show other than maybe it looks like there's water involved.
Seeing as the castle is now surrounded by all sorts of technical trickery, wouldn't it be a better idea to simply project some Christmassy glitter/decorations onto the castle when it gets dark?
I didn't see them live last year, but from photos, I thought the castle lights looked pretty half-hearted when compared to 2010 etc. They might as well try something new.

I won't explain it twice.

That's a good idea. But I would like to see a Christmas special for Dreams!
I have two trips booked for Christmas season, but now that we will not have Fantillusion, Mickeys Winter Wonderland and Belle's Christmas Village, I am probably cancelling one of them.
I have not cancelled a DLP trip in 20 years, and could never have imagined myself doing so, but I feel that Enchanted Christmas will be sadly lacking this year.
Yes, Dreams is amazing and I love it, but having seen it in June, and will again in October, I really wish I had booked a summer season trip this year as I love the electrical parades.
I am taking a friend for her first trip and 60th birthday, and she was looking forward to Fanti and MWW after I told her about them. I'm sure we will still enjoy ourselves, but I am very disappointed that she won't see these.

Has it definitely been confirmed that Dreams will only be on at weekends and high seasons from next year?
Thanks.
No, but quite likely.
Really? Why?
Part of the rationale behind Dreams was to produce evening entertainment that didn't produce the noise limitations of fireworks and the restricted operating hours it caused. Dreams created an entertainment offering they can use year round. Unless its not drawing a crowd, I don't see it being limited, if operating costs are the issue, it would seem more likely we'll continue to see other offerings limited rather than their flagship show, don't you think?
Yes! Probably, they wanted a show which didn't produce that noise, because they wanted to run it during the 20th.
But, hey! We're in Disneyland Paris! And anything can happen. Only time will tell.
Never been at christmas, but would have liked to, but if more cutbacks are planned, I agree with other fans about cancelling their trips. Hopefully the wdc buy out will happen and this will restore the seasonal entertainment and shows to the resort, as it is being run into the ground, and I am planning to return to wdw instead of dlp, which saddens me as dlp is the most beautiful park....
Quote from: "Lorum"I won't explain it twice.
Yeah so by your argument what can be done in one disney park can't be done in another for no logical reason!
As I said WDW have thousands more lights than Paris and they can still project images onto their castle without any of the images being affected by the light-bulbs!
Finally, Castle's lighting will return for Christmas this year.
And even better, the chandeliers won't :D . Good riddance. Finally they are going to be replaced by garlands like the ones in Orlando and Anaheim. This is great.
Yes! I read it yesterday. That's great!!
These are going to be the best Christmases and Halloweens we've had in ages. This is a great Christmastime to spend Christmas or New Year at the park.
Can I ask what is happening this Christmas as I'm going December 16th for 4 days?
Thanks
I think we chose the perfect year for Christmas Day in Disney! This will be the first christmas away from home and sounds like its going to be fantastic! We've loved the christmas season for the last few years and this year is going to be even more magical, cant wait :)
Hi there can any one tell me were they got there information from regarding this Christmas season as am going on the 21st and wondered what will be on, many thanx .....
we will stay for christmas season this year from 12. - 16.11.2012 and we can´t wait to go.

Don't suppose anyone has any photos of the garlands would like to see what they look like, as I'm goin to DLP on the 14th November
Is the Christmas web site up online yet? If so whats the address?

If you mean the ones across Main Street USA this is what Florida had last year
(//http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc125/petalsdance/Florida2011/SAM_1482.jpg)
I am not a fan of the chandeliers, but I am not so sure about the garlands either. Won't the street look cluttered?
It does look like it blocks a direct view of the castle as you look down Main St. Is this just the perspective of this photo though?
I persume that Winnie Pooh and Christmas too will not be back this year due to Mickey being in the theatre. Can anyone confirm this?
well cant wait just booked my xmas trip today....and by the looks of the halloween effort this (which seems to be 100 times better than last year) xmas will be great....
Quote from: "Rafael"Won't the street look cluttered?
It'd certainly be less cluttered than the big archways we had in the 90s, and they were awesome. :D
Quote from: "Rafael"I am not a fan of the chandeliers, but I am not so sure about the garlands either. Won't the street look cluttered?
It doesn't look cluttered in Florida anyway can't say the same bout Paris because haven't been there for 9 years
Quote from: "lorrig"It does look like it blocks a direct view of the castle as you look down Main St. Is this just the perspective of this photo though?
It actually does block the direct view of the castle from the bottom of Main street but it's pretty anyways.
This is another more centred view take from the little Island type thing at the bottom of Main street USA in WDW
(//http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc125/petalsdance/Florida2011/32370350087a.jpg)
Obv the Xmas trees are blocking the buildings but the garlands are going from one side of the street to the other from the buildings from what I remember!
Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but there is info on the DIsney website now...

Well, booked for Christmas and can't wait :D ! The garlands seem like a nice way of enhancing the Christmas decoration around Main Street.
Yesterday I see that the Christmas lights are up on the castle.
Unfortunately just like last year, only the lights on the rooftops ant not on the main tower and the front of the castle.

How beautiful is our castle, isn't it?
Why do they always put them on so early? They do this at WDW too.

Added the Belle meet 'n' greet at The Old Mill and put Belle's Christmas Village under "not returning".
Thanks for summary! Will be the first Christmas for me in DLP. I'm glad it all runs quite early in November.
The snowmen sound like a good idea; like a Christmas variant of the Halloween ghosts. And I'm glad that the princess columns are gone. It's a shame, though, about the new Christmas tree not being used yet. The old one is starting to look... well... old.
Quick question, if the princess columns on the lights have gone does that mean no snow this year? Or will they just have the bell chimes? Didn't they light up when it was about to snow?
Yes, but the columns aren't used to make the snow. The snow machines are hidden on the roofs of Main Street. :)
Quote from: "Josh"Yes, but the columns aren't used to make the snow. The snow machines are hidden on the roofs of Main Street. :)
Yeah i knew they were from the roof but was worried that maybe if the Princess columns were going they werent going to bother with the snow either! Much prefer the fake stuff ;)
Yes, there will be snow on Main Street. I've updated the list.
How often will be snow on Main Street, please?

I'm intrigued by the Christmas Magic Everywhere for the Cavalcade - looking forward to hearing that. I wonder if that will replace Chante c'est Noel for the main parade too?
Chante c'est Noël won't be used in Disney Magic on Parade. That will run just as usual.
But with a Christmas tinge like the Cavalcade?
I could have sworn the parade last year had Chante c'est Noel, but I could be imagining things and being distracted by Duffy having his own float!
Yes well last year the parade had a Christmas unit. This year the cavalcade will be a happening on its own, multiple times a day. :-)
Quote from: "Kristof"Yes well last year the parade had a Christmas unit. This year the cavalcade will be a happening on its own, multiple times a day. :-)
Oh! I'm not sure whether I like that idea or not! I just thought it was going to end the main parade like previous years. If we're having the Christmas calvacade throughout the day does that mean there won't be the celebration train?
Ive read that the Celebration train was running too. Then Ive also read loads about new trees but now Im reading that they are not going up until next year. So who knows lol
No, the Celebration Train is replaced by the Cavalcade. But it will perform several times a day.
Lots of Christmas pictures on the fan page on facebook today. :D
Someone remind me why I didn't book a Christmas trip? :-/ It looks amazing.
Ohhh after I've seen the pictures I really can't wait!
I was a bit sad with Fantillusion gone and Belle's Christmas Village, but this looks wonderful!

That's Mickeys Magical Fireworks and Bonfire on Lake Disney.
The Castle lighting does look beautiful, and I like the use of Magic Everywhere theme in the music.
Just wow I love the way they use the fountains and projections they just tie in nicely and all the other effects that are used. Can't wait to see what else they use the equipment for in the future.
I am planning to visit DLP on January 4 and 5 so just after new year, will there still be Christmas activities/decorations?
Good news Justjes, the Christmas season finishes on 6th January so you will have the full Christmas experience, decorations, parades etc!
Have a good visit!
I love Chante, c'est Noël. It's a beautiful song, and like Dancin' a catchy Rhythm, it never bores me. I really hope we can still hear it around the park every now and then; it always gets me in Christmas-mood. :D
Also, do any of you know if the chalet-stands in the Village will be back? They had the most yummy chocolate-berries. Hmmm, om nom nom.

I love Disney at this time of year, most of our visits have been for Christmas, but I have to say im a bit dissapointed with the new decorations seen in the video above. Why are the suspending wires on view for the new Main Street decorations? Whats wrong with a bit more tinsel to hide it. Loving the snowmen but they look a bit sad standing on their own and its a real shame we couldnt have the new tree for the 20th. Hope this video was shot when they were still putting stuff out.
Moan aside Id still go cos for me its not about one single thing its the total package I love

We missed the Castle Lighting ceremony because it was not mentioned on the programme.
The celebration train ran on Wednesday but Friday it was changed to the Christmas Cavalade and it was snowing on Main Street just before and during that on Friday.
Santa's Village at the Cottonwood Creek area has characters in Christmas outfits as well as Santa. We saw Minnie, Eeyore and Pluto there.
Belle is meeting in Fantasyland but does not have Christmas dress it's her usual yellow one with a jacket.
The Tree lighting is cool but they already had the garlands on the tree lighting before it so only the white snowflakes were actually lit during the lighting which didn't really make sense to us. Should they not have had all the lights off on the tree first to "light" the tree?!
Jack and Sally meet near haunted Mansion but also seem to rotate between each other at times because we were getting on the boat and the two of them were there but when we got off it was only Jack on his own and he is not in a Santa suit as I read on other forums he was rumoured to be.
Santa Goofy is meeting on the square behind the Christmas tree but he was also in Walt Disney Studios when we were there.
Mickey meets in the frontlot of Walt Disney Studios in a gold outfit.
There is a meet and greet set up for Duffy near the storybook shop but he wasn't there on Friday when we were there.
Winnie the Pooh is meeting in a Christmas outfit near Casey's Corner
Also I saw Angel and Stitch meeting in Christmas outfits in front of the Christmas tree on Friday
The Disney Magic on Parade is exactly the same for the Christmas season as it is in normal times no Christmas things added likewise with Dreams.
In Disney Village there are little Christmas huts selling chestnuts, mulled wine, lollipops, candied apples and meringes.
Can't think of anything else right now :)
Hi when is the castle lighting ceremony??? Thanks
Just saw Lorum1 taping of the decent of the stairs...
Almost got a heartattack!!! I`ve been dreaming to see Belle and the Beast for so long! Wish I could have been there.
I really liked the winter outfits the other have!

On Friday the Christmas tree lighting was at 6.15 and we went to Small World then because the Castle lighting wasn't listed on the programme but the castle was lit while we were in the queue for Small World so sometime between 6.30 and 7!

There's no Duffy Meet & Greet on there either, not sure if it's so they don't have to stick to the schedule if they decide to cancel?
Is the Castle Lighting now classed as part of Dreams?

That's what I said. On Friday when we were there the Christmas tree lighting happened at 6.15 and the castle was lit sometime between 6.30 and 7. Sorry I can't give a definate time we went to Small world after the tree lighting and missed the castle because we didn't know it was happening!

Duffy is meeting beside the Storybook Store I think it said from 11.30 until 1 or 3 something like that. He wasn't there on Friday though :(

Nope it definately happens on it's own sometime in the half hour after the tree is lit
Thank you Petals for all your info, really useful to get a heads up on what's happening where. I can't wait to have a mulled wine!!
Just seen a picture on twitter of main street looks like the garlands across the street have gone on the castle end wonder why ???

We´re just back from 5 magical christmas days in DLP, it was so wonderful, I´m so in love with this beautiful parc. The new decorations are great, the charmy new cavalcade and the flirty Santa Clause in his village ......

We were in the parks this week and looked everywhere for the CD, we couldn't find it or anyone who even knew it existed. The conceirge of the hotel rang the warehouse who said it was a hoax.
Has anyone had any luck finding it in the parks?
@InsideDLParis has tweeted photos of the actual item, as has Radio Disney Club. Mail Order have confirmed its existence too and says it will be available to order from Monday. I think the warehouse may have been having a bit of fun with the concierge.
Bit more info about the CD from someone who was there last week, and on a quest to get me a copy ;)
They are only selling them in the Storybook Store, and apparently the stock they had on Monday were all sold within hours, so I kept checking and they had a big batch in on Thursday so I managed to get you one.
So I think my advice would be to look in the Storybook Store and keep going back until you see some stock - good luck!
Decorations news! I heard they're adding another garland on Main Street between Casey's Corner and Gibson Girl tonight after park closing!
I love the garlands!
Turns out no new garland just yet. They installed the special frames on the roof tops yesterday night.
They were poking about today with that, at park closing. Also they've removed the little tag that was on the lampost at the very start of main street, it said "20".
Just back today and have to say we were a tad dissapointed with Enchanted Christmas compared to 2 and 3 years ago. No carol singers, no Mickeys Wonderland, No Winnie the pooh and christmas too, normal wait to see Santa - one and a half hours - and this was midweek November. Yes Dreams was on, but a 15 minute show which my kids weren't that fussed about doesn't make up for the loss of all the other things.
Just back last night, Christmas Cavalcade went down really well (preferred it to the main parade), the Santa village is an improvement on 2008 (last Xmas visit) but queues get big fast. Jingle Bell Boys in Videopolis, and Mickey's Brass Band were nice live entertainment. Decorations definitely an improvement too imho.
Yes, the Christmas Cavalcade was nice but it felt that they had just taken it off the front of the normal parade where they usually have it at Christmas and used the float they always use for the tree lighting ceremony. Apart from the Buzz and Woody float none of it felt particularly new. It also meant that the main parade didn't feel particularly Christmassy.
The Santa Vilage appeared pretty much the same as it was in 2009 and 2010. They had also left out Belle's Village stalls.
The decorations on Main Street were lovely but we thought the 'snowmen' appeared a bit plasticy.
We also really missed Fantillusion.
If it had been our first visit at Christmas we would have been delighted, it was just comparing it to our previous visits it just didn't feel quite as special, as we could see what they had left out.

Actually, they revamped all of the old floats. They added a forest of snowy christmas trees underneath the reindeers and painted the music box float red and added loads of little details, lights and christmas paintings. They also added 2 new floats (the reindeer float with the elf on and the toy basket with buzz and woody) and all the elves got new costumes + they added new fun plane and jack in a box dancers! Does that seem like they just took it from last year?
Quote from: "lorrig"It also meant that the main parade didn't feel particularly Christmassy.
The main parade is not supposed to feel christmassy. They made a choice of seperating the christmas feeling from the "magic" theme by concentrating all christmas feelings in the cavalcade ;)
Quote from: "lorrig"The Santa Vilage appeared pretty much the same as it was in 2009 and 2010.
They added Pluto with reindeer antlers this year, a really cool addition as last year he was already added as a part of the reindeer family in the form of a painting, but now you can meet him there in person! :)
Quote from: "lorrig"They had also left out Belle's Village stalls.
Belle's Christmas Village only worked in weekends and was often seen as a dead place on weekdays. It's no excuse to not put it there again, but at least they have made a new photolocation for Belle there, which wasn't there last year ;)
Quote from: "lorrig"The decorations on Main Street were lovely but we thought the 'snowmen' appeared a bit plasticy
Agreed, but keep in mind that this is the first year of the decoration overhaul to make the park celebrate a more "american" christmas and that in the following years more decorations will follow ;)
Quote from: "lorrig"We also really missed Fantillusion.
You could say that Dreams is the replacement here, but I know that it is not as Dreams does not feature the characters in real life. Sad it's gone, but in my honest opinion it was more a summer parade than a winter parade anyway :)
What did your kids say about Dreams!?
My 4 year old son was absolutely captivated and still loves watching the video of it 7 months later. I think the new decorations, new Cavalcade and having Dreams! made Christmas feel far better than previous years
Well, just back from a weekend at DLRP, and while we had a great time, had to say we were very underwelmed by the Christmas side of things......
Main Street, was fantastic, very Christmassy, and festive. But thats where it ends. Perhaps we have been spoiled by spending the last two Christmases in WDW, there every inch of the park (all four) are decorated, and all have festive entertainment.
All the hotels go all out covered in great garlands and the whole place feels magical.
DLRP, main street and a few bits in the village...... Nothing else of note. Stayed at Sequoia Lodge, and while we enjoyed it, it wasnt particularly festive. You can really see the resort is struggling cash wise in my opinion in comparison with the effort the US parks make.
Its a real shame, as the cold weather really added to the possibilities. I mean no very merry christmas party (hard ticket event) not candle light parade with guest speakers, no carol singers. But more over no decorations as soon as you set off main street...
Such a shame
hi we are back from a trip 29thof november to 2nd december. Yes it was lovely and the dreams is fantastic but if you went to the studios you would never know it was Christmas. It has no christmas appeal at all. There use to be stalls there and they weree gone. Love disney but with the high price of going there, they definetly are cost cutting. Lack of shows and cut back on decorations for the 20th Anniversay well it was not that spectacular. But it will never stop me from going.
I've made a lighting show at home, using the Magic Everywhere Christmas version! Watch it here: //http://www.magicforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=14915
Hope you like it! Happy Holidays, everyone!
There are still loads of the christmas cd's on sale in most of the shops. Got mine from Storybook Store on Saturday.

I will have pictures from Enchanted Christmas on my blog when I put up day 4 of the trip report. There are already some on it.
Hi peeps,
This is a question for anyone who went for the Christmas season this year. I have read that they normally have a ice rink outside the Hotel New York but this year i haven't seen anything about it. Does anyone know if the Ice Rink was there this season?

It's now a permanent "eco" rink. However, in Summer its turned into a pen for kids to go in those giant blow up balls. I believe you can skate on it at most other times of the year.
Thank you for the info. I have never been Ice Skating so saving it to go next year :)
I've started my blog entries for the first day of the Christmas season if anyone wants to have a look :)
