Does anybody know if there are any special fireworks on July 14th this year?
Normally there are special fireworks on this day. But now there is the Disney Dreams show at the end of the day.
Will there be a double show, a special version of Disney Dreams or maybe no Dreams this night?
Thanks.
Good question I was wondering this, I did ask if anyone knew on the forum sometime ago. The only reply I got from a member was no, there weren't going to be any special fireworks this year, but that could change. I don't think they really knew so I'm going to wait and see what happens when I get there. The 14th of July is so big in France, I'd be surprised if there weren't any special fireworks for that.
i was hoping there was going to be something special . we will just have to wait and see fingers crossed
If you want to see some special fireworks on Bastille Day, 14th July , watch the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower
they are fantastic !
I asked the same question at Disneyland almost two weeks ago, but no reply until now.
I'm thinking of cancelling my July 14th trip to Disneyland this year.
I wish there where better ways to communicate with Disneyland. Many times, they do not give a replay to e-mails about events.
I just go a reply from Disneyland Paris:
QuoteDear Guest,
Thank you for contacting Disneyland Paris.
I kindly inform you that there will be no special fireworks on the 14th of July 2012.
Only the "Disney Dreams!" show will take place.
Yours sincerely,
Lisa
So, no July, 14th party this year....
Good news! I prefer Disney Dreams :-)
Well that's very strange and disappointing . . you'd think they'd want to celebrate their national holiday even if it was just with a post or pre-show.

I think, they have enough guest now anyway on this day. And with the much bigger fireworks show in Paris as a competitor. It may not be worth the effort for Disneyland.

Steve said he wanted to keep the show the same all-year-round for the first year, but that they'll start adding seasonal overlays afterwards. But you'd think they'll at least have fireworks for New Year. I'm not sure about Bonfire Night, though.

According to the UK summer catalogue, Bonfire Night is on for November. :D/
Also St David's Festival has fireworks next year.

But I can find noting in the catalogue this years about New Years Eve.
Oh, so it's just around the lake this year. OK, thanks a lot. :)

As far as I know, the Bonfire Nights (Bonfire Spectacular) are always at Lake Disney.
Oh. I don't know why I thought they have them at the castle as well. XD

Here is my recording of last year, it's a real spectacular experience to see this 20+ minutes fireworks show.

This will be my 5th year seeing the Bonfire Spectacular at Lake Disney. I recommend going, at Lake Disney, the fireworks are free. =D>
Looking at the fireworks on the lake I can just imagine Fantasmic. ;)
The special fireworks on the 14th are confirmed by @Disney_ParisEN. They'll be on five minutes after Dreams ;)

It would've been a lot cooler if they were incorporated into the show but this'll do!
WOW, this is good news...!!
Only strange that Disneyland ("DLP GUEST COMMUNICATION") are saying that there will not be anything special on this day.
.... Well, time to pack the bags and start planning the trip :D/
Did anybody see the 14th July Fireworks last night?
* Removed, wrong year and annoying music *
Quote from: "Pete's Dragon"Warning - dodgy music has been added  Plus the fireworks stop at around 4:20
I do not think this is the fireworks of this year, I just find this video:
[youtube:2y9bcl0q]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCGUx16Hhr8[/youtube:2y9bcl0q]
You can clearly see the projectors at the castle, so this must be from now.
.... but non of the side fireworks are there... only the big, behind the center of the castle.
also you do not hear anybody cheering are the end... i think something gone completely wrong this year
Well that was disappointing. .
That was pretty disappointing, from both videos.
It's as if there was a load of fireworks that didn't go off. And it was a really abrupt end. :?
Well you just had the amazing Dreams. So people can't complain.
People were even led backstage after the show.

Might I recommend putting them there pictures in a spoiler pop down, not everyone wants to see backstage Disney :P

Whoops. I forgot about that. XD
This is the last time they were able to pull off a proper 14th july 2008 in paris, every year since there was faults, technical hitches, and one year the had a new company involved, and were not very good at all, here it is the premium year of 2008

just noticed how much trees have been removed since then, for the brilliant dreams show
Should've just kept dreams and added "Happy 14th of July" as a message at the end. Those fireworks were terrible!
This. was. really. disappointing.
How could they do something like this after dreams???
Thank you seanmartina for posting the original show. So we can see how it should look.
I read somewhere that they had some troubles this year. But not much more. After seeing now the video I must say: Cancelling the show is sometimes the better thing.
Was more of a blame then a proper 14th.
Off topic: For the backstage area: Don´t worry. At california we had this serveral times a day during parades/fireworks/street entertainment...and it looked much uglier then paris.
We were on Central Plaza that evening standing in a large crowd of people. I didn't think the 14 of July fireworks were bad. I view them as part of the evenings entertainment a long with the Fantillusion parade, Disney Dreams and the 14th of July fireworks. What could top the fantastic Disney Dreams anyway? If it had just been the 14th of July fireworks I can understand people being disappointed, but the evening offered so much more in my opinion. There was also a great atmosphere that night, and it didn't rain which was good. =D>
with the 2008 fireworks in mind I can clearly see why people are disapointed. To have a better show before a fireworks shouldn´t be an excuse. Because they had dreams on this evening running they had do to something like the 2008 version or a special part for dreams (extend the remy/paris part or else), just to say "we are disney".

There were two shows on that night with fireworks. If a person went to Disneyland on the day just for the 14th of July fireworks, I can understand that they may feel disappointed. But for us it was a full days entertainment, and the 14th of July fireworks were an added bonus. People compare 2008 fireworks with 2012, they could also compare DLP's version of Wishes to Disney Dreams. Why wouldn't Disney put a better show on before the 14th of July fireworks, when we all know that Dreams is their main show to celebrate the parks 20th birthaday. That's why I went to celebrate the 20th and see Dreams, not the 14th of July. I know it's a national holiday in France, and I would have thought another place to see 14th of july fireworks would be Paris, the nations capital and paid for by the goverment, not just Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland and paid for by EuroDisney.
My problem is more, that the 2008 firework is actual the 2012 firework. But the 2012 firework had many many many gaps. They´ve said somewhere on another forum that DLP had some hard problem this year with the firework.
So if they know about having gaps, why haven´t they just choose dreams with no one disapointed. ;)
For all the guests that aren´t interested in the 14th I can get that it wasn´t a big thing but many people visiting the resort on that date to see a big scale firework in DL Park.
It´s a bit like visiting the anaheim resort getting this little small world show, then fantasmic and then...sorry...we have just the half of your halloween fireworks.
But I´m toooo much of an evening disney entertainment geek  So most people should be fine.
but the point being made they had no dreams in 2009 - 2010 -2011 and there were just as bad, one year worse because they hired a cheaper company, i think 2008 was the start of the enchanted fireworks, which also degraded over the same time scale, disney land paris can pull off great shows when they put a little thought and imagination into it, the fireworks only run for a 3 month period while other parks are year long running, so to cut back, for the sake of costs , when the last think on your mind when leaving the parkis the final showof the day. Now disney paris has a fantastic dreams show, and applaude them for that, but they announce the 14th july fireworks and it should be to the high standards that htey are capable off, not some half baked show, just for the sakeof it.
But who said anything about a big firework display, In the programme it just says Bastille Day Fireworks, which is what we got. So I don't know what point is being made. Obviously some people thought the display would be bigger, but it wasn't. DLP has never had big firework displays on the scale of the American parks. But for the first time in the parks 20 year history they have a nightly show with fireworks in it, called Dreams.
Well the main issue was that there were loads of blank sections of the show where fireworks should have launched. The bits that actually had fireworks were fine.
Every year they advertise bastille day fireworks, and its supposed to be a big show, this holiday is bigger than the 4th july for the french people, you would expect a big fireworks display,
Quote from: "Josh"Well the main issue was that there were loads of blank sections of the show where fireworks should have launched. The bits that actually had fireworks were fine.
Should they have launched ? That's a shame, i didn't know that. Clearly Disneyland Paris had a bigger show planned then, if the fireworks didn't go off when you say they should of, I honestly wouldn't know. I wasn't disappointed with the evening and Dreams was the highlight for me. I would have been more disappointed had the fountains not worked.
@ Seanmartina
I doubt very much that the 14 of July is a bigger deal to the French than the 4th of July is to the Americans, which isn't celebrated at Disneyland Paris with fireworks anyway.

It's only speculation (or a rumour?), though. They haven't confirmed if there was a technical hitch. :)
I doubt they ever will, if there was a technical hitch they might prefer to keep it to themselves. As I say, I would have been more disappointed had the fountains not worked in Dreams.
Does anyone not think it odd that Independence Day is not celebrated on July 4th with fireworks , that Bastille Day is celebrated with fireworks tagged onto the end of Dreams but they make a big deal of fireworks over the Lake around November 5th which is traditionally the time that Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated in Britain ?

I don't think it's odd that American independence day on July the 4th is not celebrated at DLP. I can understand Bastille Day fireworks of course, the issue this year is the scale of the display, or was there a hitch with fireworks failing to launch, rumour. I can understand Mickeys Magical Fireworks and Bonfire ( November the 5th and Guy Fawkes night ) because that's aimed at the lucrative British market, just like St. Davids Day fireworks and St. Patricks Day fireworks. I think it's very nice that DLP celebrates British Bonfire Night.
Aaaand bonfire is a wonderful show!
Don´t think that DLP will confirm that they had problems. Have they confirmed or said something about the missing fountains in Dreams! (some time ago)?? Something like the cause for this?
For the big scale: Bastille Day and 31.12. has always be the two dates for big scale fireworks at Disneyland Park. Because they have to ask the mayor of the little village behind Disneyland Park. (The big scale during the first years was over Disneyland Hotel) So the "firework"-people know this. And BIG scale fireworks are the thing to do on Bastille Day. Every little town in France know that. Normally DLP was a good location for the 14th. Because they made something out of that day. (Maybe to say "Yes France, we know we are the bad americans. But we also know your national day") Nowadays it doesn´t seem to make much sense to go to DLP during the 14th...in my city they celebrated much more Bastille Day this year.
And that´s not a question of much much money. Normally they start here at the 13th with a "bal populaire" and a big scale firework at midnight and then they celebrate the whole 14th for the rest. I love it, cause it´s a very interesting mix out of style, lights and nice people. And...we are not talking about a city in france...just next to the frontier.
For Dreams! I would also have a big problem without the fountains. Hope they are now again up in the sky. Was everything alright with them on the 14th ed? [-o<
Aaand had you the Dreams!-Dining? I haven´t heared much about it but I don´t want to have a bad evening (I had one with the WOC-Dining package...).
And by the way: I can clearly understand that they don´t celebrate July the 4th much. "After all, we are in France" - and I don´t think that the french newspaper would love to see an american park celebrating an american date next to paris. (Yes it would fit for main street, but they simple could get problems  )
When we saw Dreams the fountains were up again in the sky, and everything looked great on the 14th, as it did every night we saw it. We didn't buy the Dreams Dining package, instead we decided to find a good place to stand on Central Plaza. We did see the roped of area, for what we thought was the Dining package near Casey's Corner, but I didn't see many people there.
About the 14th of July fireworks. I've been at Disneyland Paris for Bastille day a few times before, the fireworks have always been over Sleeping Beauty Castle when I've seen them and follow Disney's own fireworks. This years 14th of July fireworks were smaller ( but Disneys own show, Dreams was so much bigger and better than anything they've done before) but I don't know if something went wrong or not. I just thought it was a firework show with musical gaps and flashing lights on the castle. I wasn't expecting a very big display. The fireworks stopped, the music carried on and slowly people started to leave at the end.
I can remember when I first went to DLP, the nightly fireworks were over the Disneyland Hotel and not the Castle.
Apperently there was a worst case of crowd control, people were standing where they weren't supposed to, CM's couldn't get them all to leave, and therefore parts of the fireworks didn't go up.
Don't know how much of it is true, heard it from someone who was there the 14th.

I don't think it can be true because all of the fireworks went off in Dreams, which was on first, and people would have to move away for that, so I don't think it can of been a case of worst crowd control. And anyway Disney close Fantasyland because of the fireworks, so people would have to move. As far as I know nothing went wrong with the 14th of July fireworks, maybe it did go wrong, it's possible. The music was the same as always.
I must put in a good word for DLP the night before, the 13th. The weather was terrible, it poured with rain all evening, and yet Disney still put on Fantillusion and Dreams, I guest they didn't want to let anyone down. I thought they might cancel Fantillusion because of the weather, so all credit to them for keeping the parade on. =D>

I have to agree, both on the 12th and 13th it rained all evening but Dreams and Fantillusion (in it's rain modus) were both performed. I'm so glad I went to watch the fireworks by the Eiffel tower on the 14th though. It was truly impressive, and I would recommend it to everyone, especially after reading about the minimal show Disney put on. :)

People don't have to move for the fireworks in Dreams, because the ones they use are a lot safer. Also, Dreams and the normal fireworks shows are likely to be controlled by two separate systems. :)
But Fantasyland closed at 9. 45pm, Dreams started at 11 o clock. Fantasyland wasn't open when Dreams was on. What's safer about the fireworks in Dreams if a rocket lands at your feet? Next year they should get safer fireworks for 14th July then, end of problem and nobody will have to move away.
Quote from: "ed-uk"What's safer about the fireworks in Dreams if a rocket lands at your feet?
I don't know. I'm just repeating what imagineers have said. :)

That's a good point, because in the Magic Kingdom, guests are allowed to be in Fantasyland right next to the showbuildings where the fireworks are being launched. Do we have stricter health and safety laws or something?
[youtube:1v4as0q2]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KLNbx3J8pY[/youtube:1v4as0q2]
I don't know about the health and safety laws in France, but DLP have always closed Fantasyland before the fireworks as far as I know. And when ever we've seen Fantillusion from the Fantasyland end, we've always been asked to move away to the other side of the castle before the fireworks start. I assumed it's something to do with health and safety. Have you seen Dreams, was Fantasyland or other parts of the park closed? I didn't see any trouble on the 14th due to bad crowd control myself, which could of caused the fireworks to be cut back. :)
I did see a video on YouTube now removed by the user that I posted on the Disney Dreams discussion. It showed people in Fantasy land chatting to each other, so I guess it was either staff or the sneaked in.
with enchanted fireworks parts of adventureland was also closed, and they get everyone out no exceptions, if someone does not move they will walk with the rope and red light and guide everyone away, so i think crowd control is just a rumour, one year they had a technical glitch and it was announced within hours by disney press dept, the lack of info seems tothink that thats all they had planned that night.

That's what I thought. If they can't do crowd control ( and this is Disney we're talking about who do have experience in these things ) and guide everyone out of Fantasyland and Adventureland for the fireworks, how on earth could they guide everyone out of the park when it shuts.
