Hi,
i'm new to the forum, i've recently joined up to stay up to date with news as i'm off to stay at Disneyland Paris for a long weekend in a couple of weeks time
anywhoo, i've been thinking just for fun, with all the rumours of the Ratatouille dark ride and also the construction of a Little Mermaid ride in Disneyland California, i wanted to ask you guys which Disney film would you like to see a ride based on at Disneyland Paris which there isn't already one?
For me I would love to see a Robin Hood ride as it's my all time favourite Disney film, they could easily turn it into a dark ride similar to the Snow White and Pinocchio rides in Fantasy Land, or if i were to be a bit more adventerous a log flume ride similar to Splash Mountain based on Robin Hood and Little John being chased by the Kings guards similar to the start of the film,
anyways how about you guys?
Hmmmm, my preference is NO attractions based on Disney films as the best attractions Disney have ever done were the originals. But if someone had a gun to my head, then I would say something based either on TRON, Something Wicked This Way Comes, or Wall E would be good.
Like davewasbaloo said, a Tron based ride using the Test Track technology would be nice, but not in Discoveryland. I would prefere the Studios.
I'd like to see...
A Princess And The Frog themed Splash Mountain come to Frontierland, in a New Orleans Square area.
An Iron Man themed Soarin' ride come to the Walt Disney Studios Park.
The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to be rethemed to TRON.
Rock n Roller Coaster re-themed to be Bon Jovi :D
Something based on Bedknobs and Broomsticks would be quite cool, as would something from my favourite animated film The Emperors New Groove. Needs a full scale Kuzcotopia! 8)
Either Robin Hood or Beauty and the Beast no idea if either of them would work but they are my fave films!
I've been thinking about this for a while now and the one I would really love to see is a ride based around 'The Rescuers'.
I could see it working as both a dark ride... like Snow White and Pinocchio or being a rollercoaster (Which is what i would prefer).. the rollercoaster theming would be around the scene of the film where Bernard and Bianca fly on the albatross, called Orville, to rescue Penny from Madame Medusa!! :D :D :D :D
There's quite a few other films I would love to see come 'alive' with a ride but I think 'The Rescuers' is my very favourite!! :D :D :D :D
A beauty and the beast one would be brilliant, the one origionally planned would have been great.
A ride based on the lion king would be great to :)

I did come up with an idea for a Rescuers ride to go in Adventureland, I made a topic for it here - Rescuers Swamp Buggy Adventure (//http://www.photosmagiques.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8693)
But I'd really love to see a non toon ride in the parks, Splash Mountain would be ok as there isn't really any Brer Rabbit in the parks anymore, but if they could make it tie into the Thunder Mesa storyline then that'd be so much better! Something using Test Track technology, but in a Frontierland setting would be amazing! Maybe a mine cart adventure through a grizzly forest accelerating through the trees, dodging rocks and fallen stumps? A Test Track version of the Grizzly ride they're building in Hong Kong!
The Rescuers would be an awseome idea.
I would like to see a ride or something for the aristocats, lady and the tramp or 101 dalmations as there is nothing in the parks that really incorporate those movies and they are three of my favouriite disney films.
However if there was one ride I think disneyland paris needed, it should be splash mountain as all the other disney parks have it. It would be a great addition in Frontierland somewhere near thunder mountain as it would tie in brilliantly,
Would love to see a rollercoaster based on the door chase at the end of monsters inc, kinda like crush's coaster 4 seats per door, 2 on each side
I would like to see an Up ride in the Studios, surely something creative could be done with the idea of a flying house?!
Higher on my wishlist though would be classic musical-type shows of Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, or the Lion King again. Any of these could be easily incorporated in Videopolis.
all in all i would love to see some more stuff incorporated with the old classics such as Robin Hood, The Rescuers, 101 Dalmations etc instead of just the new Pixar stuff but the news of Disneyland California building the Little Mermaid ride has given me hope that they havent forgot about all the old classics thats a lot of us grew up on!
A Tron Legacy dark ride with the technology of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in Universal Studios Florida.(The robotic arm etc.) Imagine flying around across recognizers, the grid etc and racing lightcycles.
Definitely a TRON ride!! I thought about it the first time I saw it actually, it would be a ride for older kids and adults rather that young children because I think it would be quite dark, going through the grid, while riding light cycles!! I think it would be fantastic. It could even have abit of technology like the Buzz Lightyear one where you have to derezz Clu's programs :D:D
i hope theyre thinking up a TRON ride !!!! :D xx
TRON !!!!! Ever since I saw the first film I thought it would make a great ride , the style of the film is so unique it would be a fantastic attraction , I would like a Test Track style ride as well for it !
WDW Alien Encounter would be great too , not based on a film and very intense and unique , not one for the kids though !! It was one of the best attractions at the Magic Kingdom before it was ruined in the change with Stitch !
Mary Poppins! Practically perfect in every way! Now wot a ride that could be as the options are limitless!
Maybe this should be the other way around. I'd love to see a film based on Space Mountain. :D
this is a very good question & it really got me thinking :)
how about a 'it's a small world' meets 'pirates of the caribbean' classic films ride :-k or something on the many donald v chip & dale films/cartoons :donald:
I would like a ride based on NATIONAL TREASURE maybee a stunt show like the INDIANA JONES STUNT SHOW, I know we have a stunt show with MOTORS ACTION but its mainly car tricks with a bit of stunt work with NATIONAL TREASURE you could mix the best bits from both films or do an original story with lots of action and stunts.
I didn't think I was going to be the only one who would say TRON.... Would love to see a Tron ride, but somthing new created by the Imagineers. Not an "out of the box" ride.
I agree with loladelorean, it would be a great idea to include an UP ride in the 20th Anniversary at Walt Disney Studios I thought it could be like a simulation where you are in the house as its in the air, you could enjoy the views as the world glides by. Then you hear Russell's voice saying that there is a storm approaching then a type of siren sounds and one of the cast members inform the people to take a seat from that point onward, then it turns into Armeggedon and the house rocks violantly from side to side and your chairs rock but not as much as the house itself. Then slowly the storm gets fiercer, before you can it can't get any worse there's a blackout then thats the end of the ride.
I suppose there's something similar to that, which is Sourin'. It could be given an Up theme, where the story is that everyone has balloons strapped to them.
I would love to see more Star Wars in the parks, but in the Studios, not Discoveryland.
As for Disney Flims, Home on the Range would work wonderfully in Frontierland. I really like the backgrounds and the songs in that movie and it would be really cool to see in the park.
Old Yeller.
You get a 12 gauge shotgun, sit by a wooden fence, and then the CM's let loose a pack of rabid Labrador Retriever/Mastiff crossbred dogs.
It would be perfect in Frontierland, almost like a western version of Buzz's Lazer Blast

I'd like to see a Pocahontas one! Like where she's in the raft singing..perhaps they could make a big drop in the water like when she goes off the waterfall in the raft :) That'd be awesome...
Quote from: "Pocahontas"I'd like to see a Pocahontas one! Like where she's in the raft singing..perhaps they could make a big drop in the water like when she goes off the waterfall in the raft :) That'd be awesome...
That would make a fantastic Splash Mountain theme, and would fit in nicely with Pocahontas's play ground nearby.
:) I probably wouldnt go on the ride..(Terrified of all that kind of stuff) but id like to see it!! :)
Interestingly, Pocahontas was a much bigger hit than The Princess and the Frog, if you go buy budget vs revenue.
Pocahontas: cost $55 million to make, took in $346,079,77 million
Princess and the Frog: cost $105 million to make, took in $267,045,057 million
So Pocahontas made back 6x what it cost to make, whereas the Princess and the Frog only made back 2.5x what it cost to make!
Interesting!!! :) She is like the forgotten Disney Princess, you hardly ever see any merchandise for Pocahontas!! :(

Sorry, but Pocahontas is as much a princess as Mulan i.e. not. The true forgotten princess is ........

Something that there is sooooo not enough themed stuff of is 101 Dalmatians , it was massive when i was a kid , but you just don't see much of it anywhere now ! , kids still love it and the plot would make a great dark ride or something alike ! To be honest i'd be happy if they at least had more 101 Dalmatians merch in the shops !
I agree with a lot of the others about having a Tron ride, it could be done a bit like this one: //http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/boosterbike/boosterbike_e.shtml but indoors with very cool lighting, especially if they set it up to have more than one lot of bikes going at once, then you could have some safe, but very fun near misses. Wall-E would make a great ride too.
Attraction:Grizzly Mountain
Location: Frontierland
Description: Another runaway ESCAPE mine train! Story goes like this: During 1750's when gold was the prize a unknown mountain settled in the Grizzly Wilderness and a part of the famous Grizzly Peak. But when miners discovered a hidden old and abandoned railroad in the mountain, tables turned... You see in this mountain lived the famous Big Foot and (wait for it!) His army of evil chimps/monkeys... But when he gets disturbed he... ATTACKS! Join the Grizzly Expedition today and RISK YOUR LIFE! WILL YOU MAKE IT OUT ALIVE?

Sorry about that last post went a bit over the top...Off Topic I know...He He...Uh...Okay this is weird...Its just a idea I came up for Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Deluxe Edition...Oops....

I so agree with this. The aristocats is another one of my favourite films that is highly underrated and that you don't see in the parks, especially since it is set in Paris. I wouldn't know how a ride could be made from this film but possibly from the scene where the Duchess and the kittens are being transported on the back of Edgar's bike. Maybe. Even if a ride isn't built, it would be nice to see the characters of marie and the rest of the cats around the park. It was just an errant thought.
I am a bit disappointed that the ride they made from Nemo was a coaster,as my young family cant enjoy it,I always thought that Nemo would be a brilliant theme for an exciting, colourful ride. With neon bits even!!!! 8)
I am amazed TBH that there isnt already a ride themed with one of the 'super princesses' Cinderella,Belle,Aurora, and I believe that the Snow white ride concentrates on the wicked step mother/scary stuff.I think we need a beautiful ride (Similar to Peter Pan)for princess fans! :P
Monsters Inc would also be a brilliant theme for a ride,as the story line of the film is almost written for it,you could visit all sorts of 'lands/countries' through a door chase and as was suggested a fast and furious end where you chase around the door storage area,as in the film. They could even have scream/laugh meters on the cars to give you a power-created reading at the end, like Buzz's laser blast!Brilliant! :D
I LOVE the idea of a Princess and the Frog 'wet ride',even if it was a nice boat ride around a lily pond with some of the theme music-not all the 'rides' need to be a HUGE production,my little girl would love something like this, but would probably be disappointed if a Tiana ride was a big fast wet ride!(The same boat ride theme would work with Rapunzels lanterns also.)
I personally am not a fan of Robin Hood,I did love the Lion King, though I'm not sure how well that would transfer to a ride? :?
I LOVE the idea of a TRON ride, there's one that could be fast and furious!I would definately have a go on that!!! =D>
I'd like to a see a ride that incorporated some of the wildlife and scenery from the True-Life Adventures. The buggies could be in the form of safari jeeps and I'd make sure the temperature changed depending on the location.
Otherwise I'd like to see a Dinosaur ride, which I guess wouldn't be too dissimilar to the ride I described above, but with earlier life-forms. Though this may be a bit too like Jurassic Park which probably has a ride in a theme park elsewhere?
Dinosaur ride? Steve, are you aware of the Dinosaur ride (in jeeps) at Disney's Animal Kingdom?
[youtube:1ymaf6cc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23l-aYPMK34&feature=channel_video_title[/youtube:1ymaf6cc]
And what about the Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood?
[youtube:1ymaf6cc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Siw1zdvxO3M&feature=channel_video_title[/youtube:1ymaf6cc]
I know very little about the American parks Alan. I'll be sure to check those out when I get home from work. have you been on the rides, are they good?
I'd love to see a Mary Poppins ride in the Studio, sitting behind the facade of No. 17 in a perfect replica of the Cherry Tree Lane set. It could utilise the two level idea that DLP's Mermaid dark ride could have used: the queuing area would be the bottom floor, snaking through the hall, the living room and the kitchen, before you board an enchanted park bench and ascend the stairs (alá Mary herself.)
Drifting through the hectic Spoonful of Sugar scene in the nursery the bench leaps out the window across London and tilts forward, taking riders into the chalk drawings on the pavements.
Here we discover the carousel and the Supercali. number. From here, it begins to rain and the chalk melts, setting the scene for the poignant "Feed the Birds" scene on the steps of St. Pauls as the sun sets.
From here the bench ascends through the nightime clouds as we join the Step In Time number.
The sun comes up, and, after passing Mary herself sitting on a cloud powering her nose, we drift into the back door of Number 17, disembarking.
@PirateSteve
Yes, I've actually been on both of those rides, and I've done the Jurassic Park River Adventure in both Hollywood and Orlando. They both have a few issues, but overall they're great attractions. Disney's Dinosaur has by far the better animatronics, although Universal has the problem of most of theirs being outdoors!
We were having a conversation about this in our morning meeting last week at work. We all realised that there is no ride with Cinderella. I think the ride would work as The Little Mermaid, but instead of seashells you could go around in open pumpkins.
Splash Mountain would be a lovely addition, and maybe one of the rides from epcot could fit into Discoveryland. I think Mission to Space would fit in .
I would also like to see a 4D experience such as The Muppets or A Bugs Life experience.
Quote from: "Columbiad"The sun comes up, and, after passing Mary herself sitting on a cloud powering her nose, we drift into the back door of Number 17, disembarking.
The last scene should definitely include "Lets go fly a kite!" that'd be the perfect ending

That's an interesting idea, imagine the possibilities with the Bibbidi Bobidi Boo scene? With the dress transformation? It'd be beautiful.
i've been thinking for a while now, why dont they make the PanoraMagique balloon the house from Up? Surely it would be possible!
I would love a huntch back of the notre dam, or a beauty and the beast atraction.
Just because they fit so good in france. Can you imagine riding besides the bells of the notre dam, after seeing the real one just a few day's earlier in youre visit to paris?
• The Princess and the Frog - a Splash Mountain type ride to be built in Frontierland (in a New Orleans Square area)
• Tangled - a new dark ride in Fantasyland to replace Snow White's Scary Adventures
• TRON: Legacy - a retheme of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
I'd like to see a tangled ride, but i dont want to lose Snow White, just add a new Tangled ride and expand.
I would like to see a Treasure Planet ride in Discoveryland featuring solar surfers and using the ride system used in the Legoland Windsor ride SQUID surfer.
I would LOVE to see a ride based on Beauty and the Beast, something like a dark ride of the Fantasyland sort. The technology would be fantastic for the Rose scene and the 'Be our guest' scene. Shame DLP is £19 Million in debt.
Quote from: "EthanR"Shame DLP is £19 Million in debt.
That would be a brilliant amount of debt to be in. Unfortunately it's 1.9BILLION euros.
Tron: Legacy for sure! I would have it in the Studios and it would be like Test Track in Epcot. Two light cycles race off against each other, dodging obstacles at the very last minute, with high speeds and effects to make it feel like you are on the Grid. It would all be topped off with Daft Punk's soundtrack playing in the background. There could be a shop at the end selling Tron and Daft Punk merch, and for the opening Daft Punk themselves could do a show where Tiesto done his! :-"
Tron: The Grid - avec Daft Punk. [-o<

A Princess And The Frog themed Splash Mountain come to Frontierland
I love that idea!
The Princess and the Frog seems to be rather popular in Europe. I really think that combining it with the layout and ride system of Splash Mountain would be a massive hit. It could have the longest lines in Disneyland Park!
Plus it would also fit nicely in the current Frontierland area, the actual theme wouldn't be too jarring if done tastefully! Or instead of Splash, use the Grizzly River Run plan that was considered once, and make it a Voodoo River Run attraction.
I'd still love to see Mary Poppins more appreciated in the parks, and the Rescuers presented as Aquatopia in Adventureland!
Re-watched "Sleeping Beauty" last night (One of the best disney movies- its so perfect)- anyway it made me want a Sleeping Beauty dark ride. I would love to have a more princess-y dark ride in the park- and it would be very much for everybody with Malificent, the dragon and everything.
Either that or a "Cinderella" ride :D I just love the old princess movies- they are so perfected by the animators, and you can truly feel it was back in the time when Walt Disney lived :D
I would like to see a Monsters Inc ride based on the chase scene through all the doors. :D
Quote from: "cinderellyLFT"I would like to see a Monsters Inc ride based on the chase scene through all the doors. :D
Completely agree with this! I watched the film the other day and was like "Why hasn't this been made into a ride"

me too! that would be amazing.
Disney haven't built a coaster based on the chase scene through all the doors. However, what they have built is two Monsters, Inc. dark rides. One of them is in California and the other one is in Japan.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
Opened January 2006 at Disney California Adventure
[youtube:pbyi8edc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqdZT_iBWE0&hd=1[/youtube:pbyi8edc]
Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek
Opened April 2009 at Tokyo Disneyland
[youtube:pbyi8edc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEdM9gpWAuI[/youtube:pbyi8edc]
Those look amazing!!
I would love to see one of those Monsters, Inc. rides coming to Paris!!
The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie (together with Aladdin), and I would love to see a Little Mermaid ride.
I know they have one in Disney California, and I would love to see a dark ride like that at Paris. :)
Besides that, I would love to see an attraction of Beauty and the Beast. This movie is so beautiful and popular, and I thinks it's kind of remarkable that they don't already have a ride based on this film.
I think DLP was very unlucky with their timing. The initial Phase I park design was finished in 1989, just when Disney's new golden age of animation was beginning with The Little Mermaid. This meant that hits like Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast had to wait for Phase II – which never came, because of their financial troubles.
Out of all the planned Phase II attractions, I'd most like to see The Little Mermaid. They've opened a version of it in Disney's California Adventure now, but I hear that one is not as spectacular as the one planned for Paris. Over in California, the imagineers had to fit the ride into an existing building, and the whole thing became a little truncated.
I would like to see a ride based on the little Mermaid as well as on Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas!!! Actually, i'd like to see any movie that came out in the 90's( Hercules, Hunchback...) And i would love to see audio-animatronics in it!!!!
Would definitely love to see a ride based on Hercules or Beauty and the Beast. Maybe a roller coaster for Hercules and dark ride for Beauty and the Beast? :ears:
QuoteOver in California, the imagineers had to fit the ride into an existing building, and the whole thing became a little truncated.
That's not entirely true. The building for The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure, was constructed from scratch, specifically for the attraction. The only limitation they had was the amount of land available to build the attraction on, and incorporating the original Golden Dreams rotunda entrance.

I would like to see a Phineas and Ferb simulator come to the studios. It should be based on the rollercoaster they built on one of the first episodes. I think this would be very popular!
