:) I've added PinPics IDs to the first post. I have to say that I don't actually have any of my trade pins listed on there. This is because I may forget to remove them if I trade them away. So all that's shown on my PinPics are my keepers and certain pins that I would only trade if it was for something I liked much more.
I used to have so many pins to trade before I went to DLP last week, now I have to start my tradeables again.
Here is my spare Pin trading night pin though. I am willing to take offers. These pins seems to be valuable, as I was able to get 3 very good limited edition pins for 1 of these however if I like a pin it doesn't matter if it's limited or not. But I don't think I would trade it for a core pin.

The chip and dale pin is limited edition however I will trade it for a core pin if I like it. The hawaiian holiday pin is official but does not have the pin trading logo on the back.
I will have to try and remove these from my pin pics! :wink:

So fingers crossed, hopefully I'll recieve these pins soon! I won them on Wednesday night, so he's had yesterday and today to post them.
Once I recieve them (IF I recieve them), I'll be able to sort out all my traders and keepers again.

If I do get them, there will be only a few traders. Basically it's a lot of 9 Disney Robin Hood pins. 5 are core edition and 4 are limited edition. :D I got them all for £21 (with £2.50 P&P). The fact that he has negative feedback is worrying. :( It could be too good to be true that I got 9 lovely pins for £2.61 each. The LEs are really nice, as are the core ones. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!

I taught my mum the "Robin hood and little john walking through the forest, laughing back and forth at what the other has to say, reminisin, this'n, that n' having such a good time oo de lally, oo de lally, golly what a day....." And the rest...needless to say she forgets the half of it and just sings the oo de lally part though hehe! :P
His positives are more recent than his negatives...but the negatives are from only a few weeks ago, so they themselves are still recent.
Both me and my best friend (the one who's going to DLRP with me in January) are big Robin Hood fans. :) This collection of pins just caught my eye. Any of the ones I don't want, my friend will probably want them off me, so she'll get first dibs on trading with them.
Hehe aw that's really great though to have someone that you can be really into it with!! :D :D the only robin hood thing I really have is a teddy hehe, I liked maid marian! :D

I only seen it once on my trip it was in the studios as the hollywood boulvard store. I had been to the shop and asked about the board. The guy didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Then like 30 mins later we were walking buy and the board magically was outside the shop! :?
I have to say the pins on it were really bad! I did trade for two but they weren't fantastic!
I never seen it in the park. I went into the Emporium many times and it wasn't about. They actually take it to Pin trading night but when I looked at it there it still wasn't that good really! :cry: I was talking to a man and woman (cast members) and said I hadn't seen it in the Emporium and the guy said somethingabout the emporium changing to selling more of other items or something...which seemed confusing since it always sold loads of different things! :?
Also the girl/guy at the pin trading carts sometimes had no lanyard on whatsoever! :o
Most cast members were lovely to trade with though but they had very boring pins on! I only met one cast member who had obviously her own pins on a different lanyard - all stitch and limited edition. I asked her did she trade at all and she just said no. Then in the studios a guy had 2 pins on that were available to buy in the shop but I thought I may as well get them for free. They were on the trading lanyard and yet when he showed me the lanyard he said you can only trade for - and pointed out certain pins - which is totally against the rules! I asked him where the pins he wasn't letting me trade for his and he didn't reply! Lets just say I could have made a fuss but decided to walk away! :roll:

We only saw the pin board once in the Emporium, we saw it 3 days in a row in the collectables shop on the other side of main street, cant remember the name, but the one with the glass blower. Its one my favourite shops :D
We prefer to trade with CMs with personal collections (ones on their uniform) personally we have only had good experiences, and any we dont trade (UK editions) I will save for Florida :D
Im sure it was just a misunderstanding with the CM, maybe his english wasnt so good?
Do you not find it harder to trade with them for their personal ones? I didn't see many with even personal pins on them to be fair.
Yeah I like Harringtons too, although theyused to have a big pin section - that wall to the left of the counter but now they just have a little rack on the floor that you can spin around! :( I was kinda disappointed as they would have been one of the places to go to see loads of pins!

Clarebelle: No the lanyard isn't of mickey with teh atractions it's different characters, I will see if I can post up a close up of it.
Belle's world: There's 4 pins of yours I like the 2 cutie ones (mickey and then chip N' dale), the Jimney cricket soar pin and the jungle book " i wanna be like you" pin.

The chip and dale pin is LE but i don't mind trading it. :o The Scrooge one is LE of 500. Elaine (the fellow pin trader I met on FaceBook) wanted two pins of mine, and then offered me any of her traders. I picked that one and the Eeyore one, but I didn't see that it was a LE pin until I got home. I'm sure she must've known though, as she said that everything on her lanyard was bought just for trading.

Robin Hood pin update! I e-mailed the seller last night to ask if she had posted them yet. She replied saying she would post them on Monday, so I should get them on Tuesday or Wednesday. :) She sounded nice in the e-mail, saying she hoped I enjoyed the pins as much as she did. So yeah, I'm a little less worried now!

I read your trip report on DIS Boards as Stitch's Girl it was great, i was really interested in what you had to say about Hotel New York as it is where we are planning to stay next October. I will gladly trade with you, if it's ok i will wait until the new pins you have bought arrive and then will make my choice. I will give you a bit more info on the 4 pins you mention, Jimini Cricket Soar says it is a Disneyland Resort Hotel Hidden Mickey Collection from 2007, cutie Mickey is a core pin from 2007, cutie chip n dale says it is a First Release, i don't know what that means. The jungle book one the monkey is a bit like felt but sadly is has worn away a little, i swapped for it in store and did not notice until afterwards but it is only fair to tell you. Also it does not have the pin trading logo but is on pinpics.

I am definately willing to swap with you as at the end of the day the pins you like are just ones i was going to trade in the Disney store or DLRP itself so if i can find someone who wants then for their collection i will always swap as it will never leave me any the worse off than i was before and i will have done a nice thing for someone else! Ro is short for Roanna, it's quite unusual and i tend to get it pronounced incorrectly which is why it's sometimes easier to be called Ro.

still no sign of my pins today. I just noticed that i got an email from ebay saying they were dispatched on the 9th, 6 days ago but it did warn of a delay due to the postal strikes. I have emailed just to ask them to confirm the date it was posted though. :roll:
I hope you have both received your pins from ebay before the strikes start, although on another forum they were saying that post from abroad was already being delayed not sure why and don't know if yours was from UK or not. Hopefully all is well.

Mine haven't arrived, but what's more annoying than that is that the seller hasn't responded to any of my recent e-mails. :? So I don't even know when they were posted (IF they were posted). I sent one final message today, and if I hear nothing back, I'm just gonna ask for a refund. There's something dodgy about a seller not responding to your e-mails over a 2 week period.
What this means for my trade pins is that I've almost run out!

I sent two pins off yesterday and you nor other person recieved them. Hopefully you will get the tomorrow as I just read delivery is a walk out on saturday where as thursday/friday is drivers and mail centre staff so hopefully you might might get it tomorrow.
@ Belle - :o Do you know the PinPics number for that blue and yellow castle pin so I can get a better look at it? I like that one and the Jiminy Cricket one on a seahorse. The Belle/Prince pin is a Hidden Mickey, so it's not LE or anything.

Received both Danny's and Aveen's pins yesterday, thanks guys they are great. So surprised how quickly they came especially Aveen's all the way from Ireland in one day.
It was really good to trade with you. Danny as i said i will be going to the Disney store tomorrow after i watch Disney Princess Wishes on Ice at the O2 and will look out for the St Patrick's day Stitch, if that is not available i will look for any stitch pin available which you do not alraedy have to send you in return for the second pin. Fingers crossed i am lucky.
Masamaume i have found the pinpics id for the blue and yellow castle it is pin 39214, i believe this pin to be genuine as i traded it with someone i know who got it direct from Florida however pinpics asys it should be backstamped 2005 and mine si backstamped 2006, apart from this there are no signs it is not genuine. Let me know if you are interested if not i will keep my eye out for Cheshire cat pins etc.

did another trade with Lindsay today, got a baloo pin which was quite nice :) even trading while she is in work lol
I did a trade with Dax from Facebook so could that be added to my list of good traders :) as I got a nice lilo and stitch pin off him hehe. Aswell as trading with Elaine at the disney store XD Also got a nice Lilo pin with 3d scump on it off the cm lanyard at the oldham disney store from 2002/03 I think so was surprised to see that on there.
:) I'm just going to keep the successful trades section to people on the forum. :P It'll get too big if we include people we trade with outside of the MagicForum as well.

I traded for a lilo pin in oldham today when I bought my UP pin, she has a 3D scrump on her pin, thought it was a scrapper at first as there is no pin trading logo on the back but I dont think it is as pinpics dont say anything about it being scrapped :P

I have bought some pins off that seller before. To be honest some of them have been in what i would consider perfect condition and I have been so happy with them but I do wonder are they just very good fakes. I have seen one or two of his pins and know from the picture alone on ebay that they are fake. Thing is he has sooo many of the same pins that it's likely that he is getting them from china or some factory and not directly from disney.
I wouldn't say do or don't with this seller to be honest because his pins arent ones you would look at and consider to be fake really.

Most sellers that sell those bags are either selling scrappers or just really common pins

Fantilusion is the night time parade that takes place during the summer months and christmas season in Disneyland Paris! It's like the electrical light parade from the american park. :D I was just looking for any pins involving it, although I do have one already :D

I have both the pins and the lanyard(the lanyard has bn well used tho as i obviously want to keep the one that is sealed for myself),i was lucky enough be winning bidder on ebay for it,what i didn't realise was i actually had won 2..was nice surprise when came thru and makes up for the not so good buys i still havn't done photobucket thing i cud prob take a pic and e-mail it 2u but as Danny and Lindsay will tell u i don't have much luck with my fellas new camera and normally have to wait for him to be about!

Trading in Paris was mental!! as soon as we arrived we you could see the CMs looking and talking between themselves! and one man on main street that I saw, his jaw just dropped and he kept on staring at our Lanyards all the way to the castle lol It was amazing and helariously funny, we were treated like VIP! 8) and we actually had to turn down trades :shock: I'll tell you the full story in my TR, if I ever get the time to sort through the rediculous amount of photos and videos that I took.

aw wow is that cus yoru lanyards where Limited edition because on the day of the pin trading night I went to, i wore my limited edition lanyard into the park during the day and I got the same thing with cast members coming over asking to trade etc and like you had to turn them down, I felt kinda mean doing it but good also hehehe :wink: :wink:
Both the alice pins come from different sellers and I think they both were the last of that pin each seller had but i am sure if you look on ebay (clicking worldwide) you will find someone selling them. The alice and dina one is from a pin trading night celebration thingbut the pin was available to the public but theres only 500 of them :D

Now that it's definatly going ahead, I may as well reveal my latest online trade. I decided to use "Trade Assistant" on PinPics for the first time ever. What I did was click the link that says "What could I get for trading this pin?". The pin I used was the Grape Soda pin. :o When I clicked that link, it brought up all the pins on my Want list that were on the Trade lists of people who had the Grape pin on their own Want lists.
Next to all the links were tick boxes, allowing me to tick all my most favorite pins before basically sending out a mass trade request. I didn't think I would get any responses...but I was wrong. :shock: I got over 15 e-mails back from people who were willing to give me pins that I badly wanted, all in exchange for the Grape pin. I ended up responding to everyone, even though I could only accept one offer.
In the end, the best offer was from a really lovely lady who offered me a choice of THREE pins out of five that she was willing to trade. Their numbers are 64158, 64161 and 73664. :o 64158 is actually on my Top 20 Holy Grails list, and the other two would certainly be in the Top 30.
:D I'm so happy. She's posted them today (from America) and has even been kind enough to scan up the reciept as proof of postage. I'll be posting out her Grape pin tomorrow. Hopefully we'll both get our pins soon!

And no if you use the search engine and put inthe character name and what the pin might be for example I have a Stitch Santa pin where he is dressed as santa so I would search stitch santa and then look through the images that it brings up.

@welsheeyore - for images I would use photobucket. all you do is upload your images from your computer and they will then have 4 codes and you use the 4th code that starts with [img], hope that helps in some way..

after a Tink one now for my Tink pins
the eeyore lanyard is cute and so is the pin of him :) I have a stitch lanyard for my traders as I and most other people (I think) have a cork board to keep there pin collections on so I think pretty soon you will be upgrading from your lanyard to a cork board :)

I have just won a 100 trader bag from trublue2006 who is a green seller for $86.51 which is 57.79 euro so will cost me in total about 65 euro Id say so Im well happy with that as I will now have loads of traders which I hope will arrive before I have to come home as it would be awesome as I could look at them all on the ferry trip back as I will need to kill 7 hours hahaha
Of course I will hold any cheshire cat or gaston pins (if Im lucky enough) for you lindsay, any eeyore pins for you emma and sam and aveen I dont know which ones you are particulary collect so if you let me know I can save any pins that fit the description as well :)
So fingers crossed they will arrive by the end of next week and fingers crossed as he is a green seller on disboards I wont get many or if any scrappers [-o< but I know thats just me lol as there bound to be at least one in the 100 pins.
And lets hope there is at least a few stitch pins in there otherwise I will just have traders and no keepers lol

I think its actually anything over £18 (sterling) and if the sender doesn't tick the box on the customs ticket that says gift (although im not sure that ticking the box stops the customs charges though)
We have only ever been charged once and that was for a big box of disney items(only £8 but post offices charges over double that for handling fees) i think because pins are not usually a big package and most time marked as gift they don't get spotted as such although saying that most we have ever bought at one time was 30pins but do always bear in mind the ruling is as Aveen said above so be prepared to spend bit more!
Going on trip to Bristol in few weeks which means i get to visit a Disney store not been to b4 looking forward to that the most..u would think i wouldn't want to see Disney store on one of my few days off in nxt few wks..but the lure of thier cast lanyard is too much :D
:( It was the last Pin Trading meet at the Manchester store today until after Christmas, because they're simply gonna be too busy. I made two great trades though with two of the regulars that come. I got a cute Marie pin and a lovely LE Princess and the Frog pin. :P One of the regs had just got back from WDW, and he had so many pins that I wanted. Unfortunatly though I didn't have much that he wanted, as I only bring pins with me that I wouldn't mind trading. He always brings his full collection (on 3 large cork boards!), so I can't blame him if there's certain ones he doesn't want to trade.
:D I'm just really happy with the Princess and the Frog pin.

:D It is indeed Aveen. I don't have a Trades list, but my Owns and Wants lists are all up to date. Only thing that needs adding to my Owns list are the Scar, Monstro and Jessica pins I've traded the Grape pin for. I'll add them once I recieve them.

:P Scar and Monstro are LE of 500, and Jessica is LE of 300. These pins are AMAZING in person. The Scar and Monstro ones have that lovely shiny/metallic effect. On Monstro it's his tummy and his mouth, and on Scar it's his brown fur. And Jessica looks super sexy as Captain Hook. :) I'm so happy, and I can't believe I was able to get all 3 of these pins for my Grape pin. They all came brand new on card and everything.

I think everyone collects UP pins and who can blame then, should of seen the bidding going on for the charles muntz pin, I barely just won it $34 (my max bid was $35) and it was at $15 when I bid on it lol and in 3 minutes it doubled haha

I bought pin 45590 and when it came the stone was missing :( but the chap was really good and has said will swap it for one with the stone in so need to post that when i post Dannys stitch pin - hubby is fine as I got him two Toy Story pins anyway.

:P That was the only one I didn't get. I got those 4 along with the Halloween, Easter and Christmas ones. Mum wanted the Christmas one, and I kept the Halloween and Easter ones. They were all bought individually rather than in a full set.

I have tonnes of pins on the watch list right now, all keepers. When I first got into pin trading, I was terrible for this sort of thing. I'd find an American seller who's selling tonnes of LE pins (new on card) and cheap start prices, and then just try to get as many as I can.

Hi Masamune, i would be interested in the stitch gift box pin and the LE Gaston pin. As you know i'm waiting for a load of pins to arrive and you will already be looking for one to swap the Beauty and the Beast pin with but i believe i still have the Jimini Cricket on the Seahorse LE pin if you were still interested. @ Aveen - I actually only have one of it. :P But it's one of those pins that I keep changing my mind about. Yes it's a Gaston pin...but he's getting out-smarted by a turkey. :lol: So it's not his finest moment. But yeah, that's why I said I was less eager to trade the LE ones. I'd only trade them if it was for something I liked a lot more.

the fruit and veg ones are boring I think and I just dont get what they are supposed to represent just like I dont like vinylmation pins :P
I dont like the other vinylmation ones with the standing characters - but didnt realise my fruity veggy ones were vinylmation (still learning!) but I just saw them and thought they were a bit different - you can still see it is disney because of the iconic shape but its just that bit less obvious sort of thing

Yes I've only been to DLRP twice before, WDW is more like my home! I can speak French, I will be working in either Newport Bay or Hotel New York. :D Hoping to pick up a few pins while I'm there!

I havent actually seen him as he was wrapped up for christmas! :cry: I saw your pins and I like most of them. I especially like experiment 625 as he was a really good character. my reuben pin (625) I got off ebay for about £1.70. And Ive only been collecting about a month and a half (i think) and only found him after looking on pinpics :)

hey sean, the only way to get it is from the parks I think as it is still available (I could be wrong) but I got mine from ebay and only comes from america sadly enough..link below is for the lanyard I have. There is quite a few on ebay at the moment, go to ebay.com and search stitch lanyard pin and you will find them but most or all dont ship to the UK or outside the US for that matter.

Not sure which pin you mean as this number comes up with an Epcot pin. My wants is not up to date, i collect Beauty and the Beast, Any Disney cat, Christmas pins and then anything that takes my eye! The cast lanyard pins i am missing are 69189, 69191, 69192 and 69193. Also i do like the Belle flipflop pin you have 60882. What i'm trying to say is don't be too worried at the fact you don't have something i have listed as a want, i have only been on pinpics a couple of weeks so it's not nearly up to date yet. Don't worry i will keep the pin aside for you until we sort out a trade, i'm not that hard to please when it comes to pins so it shouldn't take too long! Ro

I have had a reply on pinpics - offering me a choice of a few but I think I will accept pin 805 which is a colour error tink pin (appeals because it is a bit less normal if that makes sense) for my minnie and mickie that came with my lanyard (73074)

Had a quick look at the pin and although it is Beauty and the Beast related i think i would be happier with a different pin. For my wants at the moment i just went through and ticked any beauty and the beast pin i didn't already have so i really need to sort them out. Seeing as there are new pin collectors on the board I think we should have a thread just for sellers on ebay we can trust and sellers who get scrappers off just for our own reference and a quick description on scrapper pins as Im sure emma (welsheeyore) and dlrpmad might not know about them.

He brought his lanyard out and he had the stitch cast lanyard pin (69189) and I wanted it immediately. I had seen it before but not in real life. So I traded a basic cars pin from dlrp for it. I want to trade more, so I cant wait till christmas for my traders to come! So I can trade with you guys.

no only couple but we have one that is my daughters that I think will be worth a lot of money she has had it a long time and it is a big one with Mickey in the middle and the outside is all like new york buildings - I was just curious was all. Am thinking about starting to collect a few though - but will be the cheaper ones for definate :lol:

Emma - They basiclally never have it out in my store I always have to ask them for it. I usually just say can I pin trade and they know what I am on about lol.

emma, they should have a member of staff wearing it, if not it will be behind the till and they will grab it when you ask for it, the manchester store had a CM wearing it today (which is rare lol) and the one day I didnt take my pins was a pin I would of wanted to trade lol it wasnt anything Id keep just one that was a new one lol a 50th anniversary of Disneyland (or 50th of something lol) but I ahd no pins on me so Im going back tomorrow to just trade the pin hahahaha and I will be going to the oldham store on monday to see whats new (within a week I doubt there would be new pins on it)

hey emma, in Dundee it depends what time you go in. I went into the disney store yesterday, and it was 10 o' clock. The manager and one of the longest working cm there, both had lanyards on. I went in later at 1 and they were behind the till (the lanyards that is). I would hardly call myself the Dundee store trading expert, ive only traded 2 times ever!

I got the 50th anniversary pin today off the lanyard, just as sake of trading it really. as well I traded the worst pin ever that would of stayed on the lanyard for all time its that bad just to remove it from the lanyard HAHAHA I shall take a picture of it later to show you how bad it is.
So for the manchester store can now rejoice in the fact its gone!

ah well - to solve your confusion - Dundee is not Edinburgh :lol: - Sean lives in Dundee, I go to Dundee because hubby is from there and his family all there (we also got married there on RRS Discovery the ship that Scott took to the antartic) - but as you correctly assumed I live in Wales.
with the Edinburgh pin I would like that one - but I think Sam's OH was born there so she might want it more :lol:

you should get double this time or at least get next times early - you could perhaps get the little trader bags like I do for £10-15 off ebay and that will build up your traders before you go - I am going to get a couple more as and when I can

The kids both got their starter kits and traded off the store lanyard too - Shannon (left hand lanyard is going to collect Nightmare for definate and James (right hand lanyard) is going to go for Toy Story and Stitch :)

I went to the disney store in oldham and I traded for the UP core pin (just like to have one for DLRP) and I got pin 69773 as I just thought I will trade it other than that they were boring but they did have another edinburgh pin lol so I can trade it with you sam and also trade with you Emma :P

hahahaha I aint found any LE or the like on a lanyard yet in the UK anyway, I must have bad luck lol Well I can say the best find I had was the CM Donald pin I traded a few week ago but other than that then I dont know lol
I missed out on a Stitch pin I didnt have, as my friend traded it for her friend in the US which I thought that was kinda mean when we was meeting up on the day anyway :( but I wont complain as her friend is ace hahaha

:) I've found a few LE pins on the cast lanyards. It was mostly at the beginning though, when they first had only pins from other parks. These days they only tend to have UK core pins on the lanyards.

I will say this though there has to be a trader in the manchester store as I got that 50th anniversary pin of it and far as I know only me and you look and trade on the lanyard besides elaine so other than us three there is a secret trader hahaha
I will be soo happy when I find an LE on a lanyard here in the UK, I think the disney store should have a rule that if the lanyard gets full of all their core pins they can remove them and replace then with non-uk pins provided by disney :P but I can only dream.

I can see quite alot of the same pins I got in those pictures but you did get quite a few I didnt get in my bag. But still a very nice selection and happy for you they arrived just before christmas day :)
The stitch growling I think has to be a scrapper as I have the official one off the lanyard set and it shouldnt have the mickey heads all over the back. As I had the exact same pin off the seller.

Not to put a downer on everyone but I was reading on facebook the new hidden mickeys have been shown for the parks for 2010 and I went to have a look and I was very surprised to see 2 pins Sean got in his trader bag which I hope they are not scrappers as means another set has been scrapped before release OR that a few pre-production pins got out.
The pins are the snow white and aurora heart pins, pinpics# 75091 and 75094.
What do you guys think??
Oh no!!! I never realised but i have... Wait let me count...............7 (i think). I hope these are just post production pins that have slipped out into the parks and that they are NOT scrappers. They are actually quite nice pins, except the nightmare before christmas ones, as i hate the movie and everything about it!!! Every day i am growing more and more wary of funmamas pins! From now on im only getting traders from people you all recommend!

A reason for hating NBC: i don't have one, i just do hate it!! Sorry for being so forward about it and for being off topic!! Anyway, i may need to get some more traders in a few months, who do recommend to get them from (yes i have asked this loads of times!!!)

I have mine off sleepys emporium - I think Aveen recommends them too. although I am by no means any where near expert enough to tell perhaps I really dont think I have had any scrappers so far in the 30 pins I have had from them

I dont mind the change, i think its a lot cleaner! Lindsay, i have had 4 successful trades (on my side anyway) with emma (well her son!!), danny, aveen and sam, so if you can add them to the list that would be great! thanks, its part of a set that you can only get by buying boxes from disney world that contain 2 mystery disney as star wars pins each. my mum brought it back from hols in september and stashed it. its cool but now ive got to track down the others :lol: she also brought me back a mystery box with attraction pins in, the jack skellington in a frame halloween pin and the 2 haunted mansion job advert pins. theyre all parts of sets aswell so my dad is having to bring them back when hes in the world on business at the end of this month.

@sean - if you go on pinpics, and on the homepage you will see in the top right corner Reference Centre, if you click on that a window will open and then scroll down a little till you see referral form and click on that and all you need is the persons name you traded with and their email to add a reference for that person. Hope that helps.

oh, i forgot to add that i collect anything that's a DVC exclusive, Disney attractions and parks, and anything that's part of a LE set, unless its a set that really catches my eye and then I'll buy it anyway :lol:
think we are all a bit like that - have our 'collections' and then see something that we like and have that too!! im not into the princesses at all but loved the new pin with the tiger on whose names i can never remember lol so I got that!! and I like the princesses in the rear view mirror pins as I got a few in a traders bag!

I know at least 2 of you are from the Manchester area and was wondering if you could answer my question for me. There is a possibility we may visit Manchester at the end of February and if we do I was wondering which of the 3 Disney stores was the biggest/best in your opinion for pin trading. Do all 3 stores have 2 lanyards that are easy to get to or are any of them like Leeds where you have to ask and they eventually bring a lanyard from out the back and only bring one out? Also do they all get new pins out on the day they should be as I think some new pins may be released the day we possibly would go. Also Danny you may know this do any of them have a comic shop nearby?

But on the note of the stores, is that the Manchester store inside the Arndale centre is the best one for trading as thats where me and Lindsay do our trading, but they only have 1 lanyard, its the Oldham store which is 30 minutes from manchester that has 2 lanyards and the trafford centre has only 1 as well.
I find the lanyard in the Manchester store to have the lanyard updated more often with people trading but me and lindsay dont know who LOL there sneaky as we went to the xmas pin event and we got there had a look at the lanyard nothing there I saw....like 3 minutes later our friend elaine showed up and said look at the stitch pin I got off the lanyard so that trader is VERY fast and we dont know who that one is HAHAHAHA

I'd only be looking to trade for the new Duck Tales pin though, as I'm just trying to save a bit of money. All are 100% genuine. I say this because I know the lollypop pins are notorious scrappers. great pins danny, you're so lucky in england that people even trade new core pins onto the lanyard cus that like never happens in belfast...just the same old ones lol. I duno if they have the new cm pins though as i havent been in. not putting myself out to get them :P

hahaha they are great and I only traded for trading sake as when I ask for the lanyard and there is no CM pin on it I dont like to not trade as they made the effort when there busy to show me the lanyard as some CM's seem funny a little when I say nah there none there.
I got an Aurora pin and a cinderella with castle UK pin this afternoon from the trafford centre store but no CM pin which is a shame as I hate going all that way to not get one and was told they had 4 left so Im not going there again.
The CM did say they might get some more sent out to them in the future so fingers crossed that will happen.
We havn't managed a full set between us yet as i can't trade when working :( but heh i'm still looking and doubt will get any more pins for at least a month(we were told 6wk supply when they arrived)
I know so fingers crossed thye will get more in and someone would be kind enough to get me the two im missing when Im not here.
I was thinking before that new cast member pins will be sent out at various times throughout the year. The last lot came out last April and i didn't see any of them until September when there were 4 on the lanyard unfortunately i didn't realise what they were until i got home so only traded for 2. Now i know what im looking for but no it's very unlikely there will be any left in Manchester when i go in Feb but hopefully when i go to Leeds a couple of days later they might ahve some.

I was told off a cast member that there could be sent out more so Im hoping that will be the case as I do want a full set again seeing as I know how it will look displayed and I was thinking to frame the set in a small frame like the image I posted as it would look nice that way I think.

:) Here's all the pins I traded for at DLRP. The top row are all LE (I got 2 each time I saw the pin board, and the Haunted Mansion one was off a regular lanyard). The rest are all Core pins. :D I was so chuffed to get that Cheshire pin, as I don't have that one and I love his expression. I was also really chuffed with the Luxo pin!

Ooooh that means i have completed the first two sets. I thought they all came out at the same time so were one set. Looking forward to getting some name tags now but i think most of the stores have run out of their first batch already. Oh well over the next 3 weeks i am going to 3 different stores.

did some trading at york store and got the goofy name tag to complete my collection,also got 2 of the mickeys in uniform and the new tink pin.also bought 2 rescue ranger pins,2 mickey and minnie valentine pins(the last2 in store,they sold out very quikly) and jasmin with rajar pin.so i was very happy.the valentine pin is fab

In the first picture, the bottom 3 are LEs, so they're definatly scrappers. I'm just going to treat them as normal traders, as long as people are aware that they're most likely scrappers. The rest all look good. The pins in the second picture I'm going to be more fussy about trading, since they would be considered a little bit more rare than your average trading pin. The last three pictures are all LE pins. The pins not on cards are all 100% genuine, even the lollipop pins. I would only be looking to trade other LE pins for them.
Nice traders there lindsay, I think you could get something good for the CM square pins as they seem to be popular as when I traded my stitch one, more than one person wanted it.
Just for interest, what carousel horses are they? friend of mine is after 2 of them so if you can let me know which they are that be great :)

ok Ive definatley fallen off the wagon from my 3 months of not buying pins as Ive bought the Maleficent PTN pin which Ive traded for the Carls House LE 100 (74178) and Just bought the White Rabbit PTN pin and traded it for DSF Russell and Dug LE300 (70691)
I think I shall be buying PTN pins to try and get hold of the remaining UP pins (well the LE ones anyway).

Well I can't really talk seen as I'm currently planning for two trips to Disney this year - WDW in June and DLP in Oct. I've already come to the conclusion that I will be trading on both trips and trading lots!
I've been in the past and not traded whilst being in Disney is always fun regardless its like being a tormented 5 year old in a giant sweet shop with your mum telling you can't have anything cos you'll rot your teeth!

When I went last september (seems like forever ago :( ) I noticed a lot of the cast lanyards had the same pins basically which consisted a lot of pins that could be bought in the park in sets e.g. like this...

which were then just broken up and put on cast lanyards.
I was hoping for a bigger range of pins on the cast lanyards though, like pins that had been traded on to the lanyards by guests etc but there wasnt much of a selection really and I was scanning every cast members lanyard :P I think a lot of the time the cast members themselves actually just keep pins they like for themselves or put them on their own waist coats to keep rather than on the lanyard so that they dont have to trade them away :roll: ....it's an impression I got anyway really.
I found the best people for trading were actually the staff in the Disney shop in the hotel and that their lanyards were the most varied.
This is only my experience of one trip though lol :)
I have found that one of the best places to trade is the Kodak shop. The cast members in there have their own lanyards which they don't always wear but I managed to get a really nice LE Si and Am from a cast member who practically flattened the other cast in his hurry to get his lanyard.

Your only allowed to trade 2 with each cast member per day, unless the cast member is happy enough to allow more. :D
haha i think i wrote that wrong i know its 2 pins per day per lanyard/cm. I'm a uk cm ;) but i meant on average how many do people trade on a trip, like how many do you come away with :D :D

All these great pins I'd got together for pin trading night, and guess what I did...left them here! So I didn't even go to the pin trading night, without traders as it was on the last day of my hols I decided to stay in Magic Kingdom and ride pirates instead.

We've been lucky enough to coincide with pin trading nights and events so....my best haul, and bearing in mind this was in August, was around three hundred pins traded. Also bear in mind we were in the park for ten days and I also spent in total £700 on pins during the two day pin trading event/pin trading night. :shock:

And I must also point out that I have two lanyards. One for serious trading which I carry with me in my pin trader bum bag and then another with OE duplicates for kids to trade.

I always make sure that their parents are okay with it though. Some are just grateful that you're willing to trade. This time of year expect quite a lot of trading. Not sure how much trading you've done there if any but if its really sunny head for the pin trading station oposite Casey's Corner, you may even find Franc or Nadia there with the pin board. From Friday through to Sunday afternoon there is bound to be at least one die hard french trader there who has bags and bags for you to peruse through.
And don't forget the permanent pin trading board that is in the Studios at the little store near TOT.
Well that's my essay.

thankyou for all this info :D it was great. i love seeing such a big reply. I didnt realise there was a permanent trading board. I'm gonna take about 40 pins with me, im only gonna be there for 2 days in august. I did a little bit of trading last year, i always worry about them being rude and saying no :oops:

You're welcome. Right. Here goes. For a speed pin trading trip there are several places which can almost 99% of the time give good trades.
If you're staying inside the resort we've found the best hotel shops to hit for trading are Sequoia Lodge and DisneyLand hotel. Sequoia because in August they seem to concentrate the events there.
In Disney village the two big stores are great for trading and strangely the best times are the evening or just before the park closes.
In the park always hit the emporium. The cast members are friendly and they should be able to tell you roughly when Patrick or Franc are about. Then skip over to the Kodak shop and check out the lanyards there before heading up towards Harringtons and then the pin trading station oposite Casey's corner.
I always have luck with cast members in Discoveryland. Varied lanyards.
And watch out for the cast members in Adventureland. Especially if you have Stitch on your lanyard. I was practically mugged by some stitchaholics there he he. :stitch_bounce:
Keep an eye out around Hakuna Matata. We bumped into some traders outside there, they'd taken over a table and were happy to see us. Bit of a language barrier though as they barely spoke english and our french is very bad :oops:

Another tip I could give you and it may sound like a random one is be focus its so easy to get all carried away with pace thinking how many cm's are there that I could trade with here. I've nearly missed few nice pins (one even happened to be an old LE) because I was so busy thinking about moving on to the next person and lanyard in an attempt to cram everything in to a short space of time!

Well we've just purchased some through Soraya in Mail order and I think they were around 8 Euros maybe a bit less. They arent the standard ones, they are the newer ones. I ordered a Tink, and Stitch and a Star Wars Mickey. :)

We never actually went into Paris for trading. Did try the Disney store in Valle De Europe but they don't trade in there and its such a small store, even smaller than Covent garden.

I am really quite excited. We're off to Southampton tomorrow. Its our wedding anniversary. 12 years!!!!
And on Sunday, whilst still in Southampton we're going to a pin meet at the Disney Store. According to sources, our friend Stewart, there will be at least 18-20 traders going. And because there will be so many traders we have been given some tables in the actual Mall, and someone from DS HB is rumoured to be coming to talk to the traders!!!!! :D/
Now if anyone is able to come we'll be meeting up at 10.30. The more the merrier!!!!

hiiii, got back from Paris last week. had an amazing time! as always. I traded like 40 pins in a day :s and then had to retrade some for more i saw haha. I'll post photos sometime this week, i got some really good ones :D all the ones i wanted to buy i basically traded for :D saw the pinboard both days :D.

Had a fantastic weekend. Traded a couple've pins off the lanyard on Saturday in DS Southampton then went for a wander down to the docks to watch some cruiseships departing for exotic places unknown. They're sooo big!!! :shock: We saw the Arcadia, Celebrity Princess and the third I can't remember :oops: Then went for a nice meal back at the hotel.
The pin meet was awesome. lots of people came, although there were some disaster stories for a couple of late comers
Everyone was so great. There were traders who'd been trading from the very beginning who had over a 1000 tradeing pins and others who only had a few pins.
We managed to trade over 30 pins and some were even on our wants :lol:
I had our wants list with us but left it in the car :oops: so got a couple of duplicates. But all in all it was a good day.
Unfortunately the peeps from HB didn't turn up which was a bit of a let down but we were having so much fun anyway we didn't really notice.
Will be starting a new topic thread to let everyone know about meets around the Uk by the same group who organised Sunday.

Here are last weeks pin trades and E-bay purchases...So far!!!
My favorite is the Stitch feeding the squirrels because we have a tradition. Every time we go to DLP we stay the night in London so the day before we go up to St James's park and feed the Chickoos(Squirrels).

aw bless ya, I hope the pin trading board is out a lot when your there :thumbs: and that it has good pins :thumbs: ! I have to say when I last went I was a little disappointed at the range of pins for trade on cast lanyards and Ithe board which I only seen once, however it is still so exciting every time you see a cast member with a lanyard as your scanning their lanyard to see if there is anything you want hehe!!
hahaha Ive got about 40-50 pins for lanyard trading (more if I get any pins in london) and then Im looking to trade my max of 2 per CM just to rotate my traders as all UK core pins which aint popular XD so if I can get anything then Im happy :P
I hope to see the pin board at least once while Im there :P

lol I basically did the same thing as you! I actually bought like 2 of every pin I was buying on ebay at the time so that I wouldnt want to keep the pin I was trading (as I would already own one:p) so when I went to DLP I just traded with everyone I could to get different pins lol! It is fun! :D, if you to go to the PTN the board will be there :)

none I want but calm down trying to trade for anything, relax and think what you would like to collect and stick to the theme youve chosen and trading will come after that. If you send out PM's similar to the post you just made you will not get many response's.
Thats the reason why I didnt respond to your PM as felt a little in your face if I can say that.
Not being mean or rude or anything as I try to trade with anyone and everyone but when I get traders who are overly too eager I pass them by.

I agree, I will be wanting the Libra pin only from that series since I have the better DA pins (just my opinion)
Going to Disney on Sunday so I'll be asking about the Valentienes pin, I'll post back if I manage to get hold of one/ if they look like they have many left. Although Feb was such a long time ago now, fingers crossed! SO hope they're still there - it's lovely!! x
UPDATE: Yes I got one! They're not easy to find though so they can't have many left, found in Sequoia Lodge boutique by chance and then also seen in the (Kodak Photo shop in Mainsteet) later in trip.

Just back from DLP and I got this pin in a trade with a castmember

I collect Tinkerbell pins and it wasn't until I got back to my hotel later that night I discovered it is a Hidden Mickey pin, number 2 out of 5 from 2012 , very pleased with myself :)
