Welcome to the official topic of La Cabane des Robinson.  This topic will be used to discuss the walkthrough attraction located in the heart of Adventure Isle.

And first thing to report is... Le Cabane's first refurbishment... ever!  After 17 years, the treehouse will close its doors on June 15 for two full weeks which will allow workers to repaint, clean and replace broken pieces.

The water supply system will NOT be fixed during the refurb, according to Dash on Disney Central Plaza

Wow. Has it really never closed before, or is this just going to be more substantial?

I hope as well as making it feel like a lived-in (rather than abandoned) treehouse, a solution (preferably a simple replacement) for the thatched roofs is found. The missing one right at the top looks horrible from just inside Frontierland.

Is it too optimistic to also hope for a few thousand new green leaves to replace all the ones that have fallen off? How would they even go about replacing those?

Wow; the labyrinth, now this!! It's almost as if someone sent them a letter telling them about all the attractions in desperate need of refurbishment. :-"
[spoiler:zjgd9qsr]Next refurb should be Sleeping Beauty Castle, if my little theory is indeed correct![/spoiler:zjgd9qsr]
I can't understand why they wouldn't they fix the water system though. This is the perfect time to do it, so why not? Unless there is a very good reason...

But still, great to know this refurb is finally happening!

There's a new vice president that cares more about the "show" aspect than the previous one.  Unfortunately, that's how business roles.

This is excellent news.  Cabane des Robinson is a Disneyland classic.  Full of immersive detail and allows you to use your imagination instead of being spoon fed a story.  I just wish they'd fix the water system too and can't imagine what reason they might have for not doing so.  It really did feel lived in when that was operating.

I don´t know exactly what the "show" aspect is
But if that means that they refurb the whole parc it think it´s a good one.

The 'Show' is kinda the what the whole park feels like.

Good Show = Everything looking good, refurbs, how everything was originally intended.
Bad Showv = Peeling paint, effects not working, Alice's Curious Labyrinth in 2007/2008.

I've never actually been in La Cabane des Robinson, it just looks boring.
Refurbs are always good though!

Now, I would bang my head against the wall and scream blasphemy, but I can actually appreciate that, considering the state it's currently in. I also find the entrance is strangely quite hidden in Paris, or at least set back behind a planter, which can't help it. Though I did see a queue formed there for it last visit.. (?!)

Just out of interest, have you ever seen the actual Swiss Family Robinson film, or read the book? I used to think it was an excellent piece of Imagineering, then finally saw the film and decided it's a masterpiece. If everything looked fresh and details like the irrigation system worked, it'd probably be possible to decide that without seeing the film.

When it was new, I thought it was awesome. But then again, I loved the movie growing up.

Never seen the film or read the book.

I can understand totally why people like it. I can also understand how unique and interesting it is for many visitors.
Its a lovely part of Adventureland and a very impressive structure.

The whole concept though just doesn't interest me. I go to the park for the rides, I don't bother with any of the walkthrough attractions. Its not that I have anything against this attraction personally, its all of them  :P
The only walkthrough attraction I've been through is the Labyrinth.

i really like the cabin too, even when i have seen it many times already, i still make everytime new pictures from it  :D . Too bad that is not a chance to get good view of disneyland from there, or at least haven't found the spot so far.

I love this new Refurb Department in DLRP. While there are no major openings, bringing back old attractions to life ! Its great  :)

Also i love the film, so a walk through of this attraction is definitely a must !

Closed during our visit but hope it gets a good update, the WDW and Paris versions could use more love. Though being the whippersnapper that I am I might appreciate the re-themed Tarzan Treehouse version at DL more as I've seen that film.

(Mind its not that I dislike Disney's Live action stuff, I just haven't seen Swiss Family Robinson)

The Tarzan version didn't feel right when I visited.  Way too much plastic.  It looked more like a fancy Emporium window or something.

I'm so happy about the refurbs of old rides etc and especially Swiss Family Robinson's Tree house. I think a refurb on boot hill is a must with hedges needing cut.
