Hi All!!
Well we arrived in London about 3.30 today after a rushed day of packing this morning (I had to work all day yesterday:( ), I felt really guilty leaving my mum behind, but I know she wont travel anymore :( and to top it all of I have a wisdom tooth coming through :( ouch! took my mind of it by playing on the DS while Chris read a Terry Pratchett on the train, soon I will be counting down the hours until we arrive in Marne La Vallee!!!! :D/
Seen a bit of the capital today, mainly the Covent Garden Disney Store ;) met a nice guy in there who gave us a little sneak peak at Saturdays pin releases :D :D which I will have to remember to order on the website Friday night. hoping he will be there tomorrow when we pop in with our temp shareholders certificate :roll: we forgot to take it earlier. We were lucky enough to be able to pick up a couple of the early "core" releases that werent available in our Norwich or Cambridge stores.
We were even good enough to take all 193 steps up from the covent garden tube station lol Chris' excercise for the day :lol: hoping, truely hoping to get tickets to a show tomorrow night.
Cant believe I didnt take my camera out today :shock: but dont worry, it will be all charged for tomorrow ;)
I've still got that horrible nagging feeling I've forgotten something :-k

We had a great day in London yesterday and got AMAZING tickets to see the Lion King, the lady said they were the best seats and she wasnt wrong! (Thanks for the tip Paul :) )
Today has been eventful to say the least....
got up early-ish and made our way to St Pancras to collect our tickets and check in, only to be told that because we didnt have the bank card we booked the holiday with, they couldnt give us our tickets :shock: ... well I paniced straight away and was in floods of tears :( but Chris sorted it :D my night in shining armour. So we borded Eurostar and both got a bit of reading done, i'm now on the second section in "Disney's World" and ejoying it very much.
We arrived at Marne la Vallee about 13.30 and checked into the Magic Circus which is much nicer than I was expecting, infact we are quite enjoying it and we got a free room upgrade!!!!! ;)
We headed to the park and got our temp Dream AP and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by MINNIES PARTY TRAIN!!!!!

I'm over the moon that they have kept the "tous en train" song and there was more characters than ever!! :D We followed the train down Main Street to the AP office, which was busy to say the least, so we decided that we would wait for the parade near the stage and then get our AP finalised.

Then we qued for an hour and a half for our AP :roll: well Chris did, I went round to fantasyland to get us a well deserved cheese burger and fries as we hadnt eaten all day.
After that it was way to cold and wet to hang around, we had a look at a couple of the shops down Main Street, mainly looking at the DTs and other collectables, they even had the pin trading board out in the collectables shop, but there was nothing I was prepared to trade for :( although the guy guarding the board seemed very interested in the UK pin badges :D

Lucky! Of all the time I spent in shops on my trip, I didn't see the board once :( On my next trip, I think I'll just sit in the shops all day waiting for it :P

:o I'm glad to see that there's someone else who doesn't think that the Castle decorations are that bad. I'm also glad that Cast Members are interested in UK Disney Store pins. :lol: I'm thinking of buying about 5-10 of the £3 Core pins for when I go.

Well today we started with Salon Mickey! it was our first time so were a little nervous lol but its a nice care free way to enter the park, no scrums!!!

Then we had a walk over to Studios to check out the Art of Animation, which was closed yesterday, we thought maybe they had done a tribute to Mickey Mouse, but no :( Did however manage to get a photo of the mulitiplane camera there ;)

Just a note on your cards, I hope you've had a chance to use them and they're ok, it's just there has been reports of bank cards not working because of over protection from the banks with all this identity fraud. They are telling customers to contact their banks to inform them if the cards are going to be used abroad, so for example in your case that your in France giving the dates of your trip, so the banks know any transactions you make are legitimate.. :)
It never happened to us, but we know quite a few it has happened to.. :roll:

St Pancras, trying not to panic having been told that we couldnt have our train tickets :cry:
Day One in Disney
28th March 2009 - Arrival day and Press day.
We hurriedly made our way off the train, around all the families struggling to get luggage and chilren off the train, and up the escalator for our first glimpse of Disney magic! :D/ :D/ and there it was the DV! :D/ :D/ but we had no time to waste, our bus was waiting for us and we were on our way.

We got checked into our room, dumped our suitcases and I got changed while Chris watched French Cartoons.
Looking out of our window we could see the weather we were to be contending with :shock:

Wow, well we had seriously underestimated the number of people wanting to get AP today! and overestimated the amount of people in the parks. We got our temp AP and headed straight for the park and the AP office and it was jam packed!! on the way playing paparazzi

There was no CM to ask what we had to do, so after 20 queing, we decided to get some breathing space and a pitch for the parade, so we sat on the seats by the castle in the rain, incase something wonderful happened for the press, we were sat near the VIP section and watched a CM putting out MMP carrier bags for them to sit on :roll: a little rain never hurt anyone.
After the parade we decided to wait it out for our AP's.

By this time we were both starving, so leaving Chris in line, I headed to Au Chalet de la Marionette to get our dinner and my first glimpes of Fantasyland! During this time the weather had decided to get much worse, I didnt know Paris had a monsoon season. If I had known, I wouldnt have been wearing canvas shoes :lol:
Finally our number was called! the CM delt with us quickly and it was easy, if only it wasnt for the queing, I am not looking forward to renewing it.

When I first went to DLP in 2006 I stayed in the Magic Circus (knowing as the Holiday Inn then) I thought it was lovely really! :D
You're so luck to have been able to trade pins, I am sure your pins you traded will go to good disney loving homes! :D
when I see peoples trip reports it makes me want to go right now hehe!

The Magic Circus was a great hotel! the rooms were massive, we even had a TV each! :shock: the bathroom was huge aswell! and everywhere was clean. The hotel pool is really nice too, and the bar. If you are looking for "the Disney feel" then its probably not for you, but we really enjoyed our stay there. We also really like the Kyriad, but I'd say Magic Circus is better.

Their Mac and Cheese is the best, the silly thing was even though I couldnt eat all of it, we still atempted desert, my tummy still hurts! good food, and good music what more do you need :)

I really hope they do go to loving homes Aveen! I know two have, the man on the pin trading board spotted us looking from all the way over the other side of the emporium lol he was so sweet and as soon as he found out we were from the uk he started asking about the Paddys day Stitch pin, which I just so happed to have with me to trade :D I'm fairly certain he would have traded for it to get it off of the pin board.
We also traded with a cast member for his personal collection, he took the marching band Mickey pin and loved it! he was sooo nice too. maybe we should have put in a word for them at town hall :oops: but I didnt catch their names :(

Today I wanted to on BTM so we headed to the begining of the undercover walkway (the rope there always seems to drop quicker than the one off of central plaza, which makes it the best place to start a morning sprint to the finish line).

I have been following Eric's Blog (http://www.parisdailyphoto.com/ (http://www.parisdailyphoto.com/)) which had given me inspiration for places in Paris I would like to visit on my first "official" trip into the city, but unfortunatly I still wasnt feeling well, but non-the-less off we popped to the train station to buy our rail cards for the day. Very exciting!
35 minutes later we arrive in the beautiful city itself, but first impressions werent all good, we hopped on the metro, well hopped is the wrong word, what we really did was make it onto the metro platform only to see the first train was crammed full of people, so we waited ... waited... and waited some more. By now we had decided that it was the best it was going to get, so with fingers crossed and holding very tightly on to each other (I am informed this was so I didn't get lost) we pushed our way on. We had made it! but by now the doors were closing on some poor unwilling souls :( it was a bit like how Michael Mcintyre describes the tube. :wink:
We decided to walk from Chalet les Halles, but getting off was harder as more and more people had pushed their way on and were now blocking the exit, we were lucky that some French people were getting off, so we decided to tag along behind them. Now off the train we were greeted by a rather strange lady collecting bottle caps from out of bins, so a swift decision was made to get off the platform, it wasnt long before we were walking along the side of the Louvre

For lunch we took a risky walk down Rue Saint Denis :shock: apparantly it would be "less busy than the main street" hmm... convincing story Christopher! But it did lead us to a nice little courtyard and Fontaine des Innocents.

By now my tummy was hurting again (maybe down to too much food) so we headed back to Forum des Halles to get the train back to the hotel :( we had been hoping to go to the Eiffel Tower but bed was beckoning me.

I thought it was for the lift. I think there's meant to be an arrow beneath, so the numbers show you what floor the lift's on (i.e. -1, 0 and 1).

As far as I know there is - unless my memory's playing up! I'm pretty sure it's there to allow disabled people access to either the Sleeping Beauty bit at the top, the level with the shops, or the Taniere du Dragon.

then we headed back to our hotel, even though it was only lunch time, I still wasnt feeling well and didnt want to use the bus, so we took a slow walk back to the magic circus

The rest of the day was spent in our room, until about 10pm when we discovered that we were about to run out of loo roll lol at which point I decided we should hunt the hotel, so in my pj's and slippers I started to run the corridors of the hotel looking for a storage cupboard, instead I returned to our room with a luggage trolly ... I think I may have been a little high on medication lol, I was promptly told I wasnt aloud to keep the trolly :( and to take it back. sniff sniff.
The next day was also spent in our room, except for a quick venture down to the hotels pool to see if that would help my tummy, no such luck :(

Today we were determind not to let an upset tummy bring us down, and I had seen all of the hotel that I could take, so first we would tackle Studios and we headed first for Crush's Coaster, where there was plenty of time to take photos ...

Loving the trip report so far, the photo's are amazing!
I was the one who set you the challenge to find the throne in Adventureland. I see you did it, did you have as much trouble as I did? :roll: Took me ages! I also hadn't noticed the skull, will definately have to keep my eyes peeled next time!
Such a shame that you weren't feeling great, hope you ended up feeling better. Oh and where is the hidden Mickey in Crush's signs, I can't spot it for the life of me?!
