They do the character tea party from around 430-630 but as for the character buffet Im not sure if theyre there non stop or just at certain times.

Im sure I remember that last year it was just at certain times of day which were posted up outside.  If this is still the case its best to check this out when you get there with your hotel concierges.

Upon checking again I saw that lunch is from 1130-330 and then tea from 430-630 as these are both advertsised as charcater dinignexoeriences youd expect that there would be at least one character there at all times but.....

Has anyone been here lately. Can't really get my head around how you can have counter service character meal. My daughter would love to see Woody and Jessie, but the menu doesn't sound appealling at all. How can you call cherry tomatoes a starter for a child? Is there any other place to meet these characters in the park? Also, I presume if it is a counter service restaurant, that it wont be possible to make reservations?

We love the cowboy cook out because of the quality time the kids have had with the characters. We normally opt for the tea yes its only tea cake and pancakes but at 19 euro each its cheap for Disney and it is our top tip for avoiding character qs and getting grate family pics. They serve Disney branded lollys and bottles of water which they have been happy to let us take a few extras away with us. We have never met Jessie there but every time we have had Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofey, and Woody plus normally a few more. You have to arrive at a set time then you go up and help yourself to whatever you like. When everyone is a bit settled the characters come out and visit every table (if anyone misses you let one of the staff in red know and they will make sure your not forgotten). They they come back for a play there is a little dance floor and a cowboy band sometimes and the kids all dance around and play with the characters on a quiet day my son has had some time completely alone with woody playing in and l cove out of sight of everyone but me but I don't think that is normal. If you child is shy go upto the character yourself and say excuse me my little one is really shy would you mind coming over in a bit to play. We did this with Minnie and our little girl it took he a little while to come over but when she was so lovely. All the characters defiantly appreciate manners and a little patience also lots of thank yous we have had characters pull other characters over and I would guess its because of that. Having said that you will have to push yourself near to the front to get noticed. Cant get to the character a quiet word with the person in red "I know everyone probably dose this but if its not too much trouble could you possibly.... Thank you well if you could it would be amazing" it doesn't always work but sometimes it dose Wendy in my avatar helped get that shot for me after I asked. I know this last bit is a little off topic but we have done this all over the parks inc the restaurant

Hi
We that is  my hubby and our 17 year old daughter and I went for a tea party there on the 5th June we had made a reservation and it was great the characters came round to each table in turn and you got time for photos and autographs.  Also they would spend time trying to get the little ones happy so the photos would work playing peek-a-boo etc :-)  we saw Woody, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck.

As we had half board vouchers we also went for lunch on the next day we had made a reservation about 9pm the night before but there was still space.  There was loads of food!  We saw Woody, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck and Tigger.  The characters would send any children that pushed in back to their tables and went round table by table, also there was a band playing during lunch.

The characters all went for breaks every now and then but they nearly always came back out a little later and carried on from the table they left off!  :) However they all took staggered breaks so that you didn't really realise that one of the characters was gone.

The actual place was huge and although there was loads of people it didn't feel as thought you were rushed and enclosed! Whenever we went past Cafe Mickey - we didn't go in - it always seemed to be very busy and rushed.

It was a good place to go

We are thinking of going to lunch at Cowboy Cookout on 10th or 11th July and were wondering what characters we will meet. My daughter loves Jessie from Toy Story. Will she be there? Thanks.

Haven`t done it myself but from watching a trip video it showed Jessie, Woodie, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. There could be more not sure.

Hope this helps

theres no guaranteeing any of the characters at the Cowboy Cookout, for either the lunch or tea party. Mickey and Minnie used to wear western gear to the cowboy cookout character meals, but I didn't see either of them at the tea party last week, so don't know if they still do. Everyone I saw was in their normal outfits.

Last time I was there (April), there was Woody, Daisy, Donald, Pluto and Goofy.
The time before ( 1 year ago) there were Minni and Mickey in western outfits, Pluto, Goofy, Jessy and Woody. So it seems to be just different.

Just booked for lunch at the cowboy cookout for August, our first DLRP trip, VERY excited!!! Glad I have because another thread say's the Character meals here end in November for good.

We're on full board standard, from what I can see we'd need to use our 'dinner' voucher here, am I correct?

Thanks xx

Hi we did lunch there yesterday and yes we had to book. People without reservations were being turned away. The food was ok but we went purely for the character experience which was wonderful!! We met Jessie, woody, Donald, Pluto, tigger and eeyore and they each spent plenty of time at each table and came round more than once. My son was dressed as woody so a CM made sure jessy and woody came over together for a photo and a dance. The cowboy band are a great touch as well it was a really fun way to end our trip

This week we had Pluto, eeyore, tigger, Donald, goofy, woody and Jessie. They weren't dressed in cowboy outfits apart from woody and Jessie obviously.

We did lunch here at the start of June - prebooked. 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 2-8).

It was pretty busy but we got a table. We really enjoyed the food. There was a lot of it!! I had a half bbq chicken and it was lovely. We saw Woody, Tigger, Pinnocchio, Pluto, Donald, Daisy and Jesse. Only downside was Woody went around to each table and ours was last. The CM tried to take him away, presumably for his break, but our kids, who were holding autograph books, jumped up and asked for a quick autograph. Woody snatched our sons book, slammed it onto the table and signed it. So the other 3 thrust books at him and he got stroppy. So my brother said, "Could you not just do the last 3 books and have a photo. We are the last table and they have waited 15 mins". So he did but wasnt happy about it. The kids were not that bothered but we were a bit disappointed as it was such a good experience until then.

We will def go again next year. Well worth the money - food was great and exactly what we expected, the atmosphere was brilliant, the live band were good and the character interaction was great (apart from the stroppy cowboy - but I have forgiven him!!).

Have booked my table for lunch on aug 29th so excited normally one of the best bits of our trips!!
Can't wait had to go here again before it stops (very annoyed about that). We have been there three times (once on all our visits since first taking the kids for details see my post above) its there fave part. They love eating at Woodys restaurant and know they have to be good for mickey mouse and eat up all the dinner (they are 3 and 4 and dont like eating). It will be our first time at the lunch we normally go to the tea so x fingers its as good. Only thing I will say is make sure your flash works as its pretty dark inside the restaurant.

Have they stopped doing the Veggie burger that was added to the menu later? That would be a great shame if so.

Where can you dine with Woody and Jessie now?

I'm so sad to hear that there is no longer character lunch/dinner here!
We went here in March '12 for a booked lunch, and it was the best experience of the week (that and breakfast at Cafe Mickey).

Does anyone know the reason why it has been cancelled at all??
And yes, where can you go to meet Woody and Jessie now? (We had Woody at our lunch, but never saw Jessie anywhere...     )

Hi, We're off here in January 2014, and my kids are mad on cowboys and Woody in particular, and we wanted to incorporate this into our trip.  Can someone confirm if the characters still wander around the restaurant.  I see there is talk that it had been scrapped, but in some areas on the interweb i've seen it is still a character dining experience.

Sorry - not a character restaurant anymore.  I don't know if they may still have some interaction outside at times - when we went last Woody was stood pretending to be a statue before the restaurant actually opened.    The dlp website only lists inventions, café mickey and auberge as character dining now.

We were there during our September visit and there were no characters inside.
It was your regular long queue to purchase burgers/fries etc... However, the characters did appear outside and spent quite awhile interacting. Woody was there plus Chip and Dale and cowboy Goofy.
The 'cowboy' band played from 1pm though which was a nice touch  :)
