There's been some rumblings recently that a D23 expo is planned for Paris. Today, the Euro Disney Group corporate account tweeted this:

This sounds more like the park themed events rather than anything D23 related. For example - (La-Di-Da) Carnival, the Toon Circus, as well as Easter and Halloween.

And quite possibly a hard ticket event thrown in as well - just like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Maybe if we're lucky we'll get an Imagineer or two stopping by for an event, but I don't see this as the European equivalent to D23.

So they tweeted that they would announce something today, only to announce another announcement on October 1st. Disney Inception has begun.

As i understood it October 1st is when they actually announce what it is rather than the first event.

So the announcement was about another announcement :)

I'd imagine its for '18 anyway, and only once the 25th Anniversary has ended.

I am hoping its the Disney Paris equivalent of D23, which is open to anyone that pays to become a member and includes some things that arent for adults only.

May also have some sort of expo or conference to announce new things for the Park.

As I said in the other thread, it sounds more like a park based event (such as Carnival or Season of the Force). Sure they may offer some sort of hard-ticket D23 style event, but I doubt we're getting the Expo.

Happy to be proven wrong come Oct. 1st though.
Title: Something leaked today
Post by: irishbhoy1888 on September 11, 2017, 03:23:35 PM
Anybody know what was leaked today online regarding dlrp? A few top accounts including ed92 on twitter are talking about the leak but not saying what it was.
Title: Re: Something leaked today

I think they are referring to a picture of a piece of paper about Disney FanDaze, stating there will be Meet & Greets on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2018.
Apparently the paper was spotted in plain view in the parks somewhere.

My first reaction to the thread title was "oh no Buzz Laser Blast is leaking again?"

I suspect they were asked to remove that by DLP hence why the original image is no where to be found.

Careless on the part of the cast member in question.

So the details came out yesterday:

June 2018
Big party ticketed event in the Studios.
Characters, Ducktales parade, Max led concert, exclusive merchandise and food, LOTS of characters.

Seems to me like they've taken the ticketed events they've been doing in the last year or so and have decided to make an actual Disney event rather than Disney just being the host.

I've written a summary of what we know so far here (https://thegrownupmouse.tumblr.com/disneyfandaze).

Title: Re: FanDaze

Have to say, I'm not too impressed :-X! Studios is seriously lacking anyway, so not sure why something like this should be a premium ticketed event. A lot of the 'perks', I'm honestly bewildered why they should be considered 'premium' and not part of the standard package (ie, rare character meets - they have these costumes backstage, for example!).

Whilst I appreciate the park being open, 'exclusively for Fandaze ticket holders', queues will probably be LONGER than usual, as the park will probably be at capacity!

Oh well! of course, I'll be trying to get tickets, though... :P (after all, I need the undoubtedly unannounced exclusive pins!!).
Title: Re: FanDaze
Post by: claire2281 on October 03, 2017, 08:31:52 AM
Most of their ticketed events are in the Studios, presumably because they're easier to host there with the large spaces for stages and because it leaves the main park available for everyone so those buying normal tickets don't feel hard done by.

I understand why some people aren't impressed but I think it totally depends on your personal preferences - if you love character meet and greets something like this is great. An evening like this requires lots of performers so it's not like something they could do every day. If you're not into character meets then it's not really for you.

But this should be the first event of many so others will hopefully come along that will suit everyone.

I was really excited by this but it being the first wwekend in june means that it falls within a uk school holiday which of course means that to book a dianey hotel costs far more than it would coat far more than term time. Anyone got any suggestiona of how to gwt around this whilw ataying on site? And i agree about the queuez- when we did the star wars party a few years back in discoveryland the queues were massive!
Title: Re: FanDaze

Book through a different country's website - yes, you'll get stung by the exchange rate (but I figure that's going to be addressed in any new sterling prices for next year anyway), but there's no half term increase in price in the euro pricing.  That's what we did this year - we booked through the Irish site and saved about £1000 compared to the UK site (we were staying at DLH, so a high priced package anyway!).
Title: Re: FanDaze
Post by: Karmaviolet on October 03, 2017, 10:17:57 AM

My concern is that the event is being billed as not being a ticketted event, but that "packages" will be available to buy - if these include accommodation, we're stuffed as we already have a hotel booked (planning to buy annual passes!).

I noticed such a nice comradery between British people returning on the train from Disneyland, so this could really be an opportunity for future friendships if the super fans are as friendly as everyday guests.
Title: Fandaze Prices!!
Post by: ChipandDale99 on January 01, 2018, 07:19:20 PM
Just seen the prices released for the fandaze event in June. I have to say I'm disappointed. The base package is over €400 per person for one night at Santa Fe. And then when promoting it they are trying to make out that only real fans go to these events. It's just upsetting because so many fans including myself can afford no where near these prices. And to make out that we're not 'real' fans because of it. In my opinion they really need to re think these events. 😡😡

Sounds DLP could be going down the WDW with all the upcharges for special events

When they say you get a private meet with Mickey and Minnie what does that mean? Doesnt all families meet Mickey on their own? And after 2 minutes what is left to say to a fur character??

I will photoshop a pic of me with Roger Rabbit.

They have lost their mind with those prices.

ED92 has tweeted that tickets for the event alone will be between 80-100 Euro, which is a bit better and more like what I expected. The packages are shocking, though...
Title: Re: Fandaze Prices!!

But just to add the caveat that there will be a 'limited number' of standalone tickets available and things like the tour etc will only be available via packages.

I think it's very clear that DLP want people to buy packages and want them to believe there may not be individual tickets available later if they choose to wait. Which makes sense from a business position as this event is obviously designed to make a profit and they don't really do that from AP holders. But it's poor PR to ignore their AP holders in this way.

The standalone tickets only get you entrance though.
100€ just to enter but not to participate in anything, is still way too much

They have a special tour with a yet unnamed imagineer (although I imagine tickets to this won't be available separately as they are for the highest price package) and they have a couple of conferences, which the package ticket's don't cover and need to be bought separately.

Personally, I think 80-100 is fine and about what I was expecting to pay.

Yeah the general party will be open for everyone - this will include a special Ducktales parade, the now traditional dance party and character M&Gs.

A show, a parade, character meets and an Imagineer panel.
And the standalone ticket won't cover any of those.
For each thing, you need to pay a lot extra.
Just like with the different packages

Tom Fitzgerald is the Imagineer, and it's not a tour. It's a panel inside the Animagique Theatre.
This was already announced 2 days ago.

However the only way to see the Imagineer panel, is to purchase the most expensive package of 1100€ from which only 16 are "available".
They aren't actually available, they have already been booked away for and by the person financing this event.

There's some incorrect information being given here.

The basic ticket/classic package gets you into the party. In there will be all the previously mentioned stuff that you can see same way if you visited say the NYE party or Halloween Soiree. These are the Ducktales parade, lots of character M&Gs, dance party etc... WHICH characters you get to see isn't guaranteed and obviously depends upon how busy things are. You get a photo pass with a package which obviously might be useful.

There are two conferences in the Animagique Theatre and  you can buy tickets for these separately (£22) - you don't HAVE to buy a package to see them. They're both about Imagineering apparently, one with Tom and one called 'Duffy and Friends' but no announcement on who will be leading it.The only thing you must have to attend the conferences is a valid ticket for both that talk and the party itself.

There are packages where you can get access to extras such as private M&G with characters, Sunday brunch, workshops with chefs etc. These things are only very limited and are only available in packages. One of the items in a limited package is a 2 hour tour with an Imagineer.

Hope that cleared it up for some!
