Title: Who's going to the Halloween party this year?!
Post by: Masamune on August 21, 2006, 12:46:38 PM
:o I hope it's OK for me to make this in a separate thread to the Halloween Sticky, if it's not, feel free to lock it!

:) I'm just wondering who here is going to Disneyland Paris for the Halloween party on October 31st! My costume arrived today, and suddenly I'm scared that me, my mum and my cousin will be the only ones in costume! So is anyone else going to the party, and if so, are you going in costume? :D

Flor and I are going with my sister!  We'll be dressing up in the theme of Beauty and the Beast...

Oh, I think you'll like my costume...

What are you wearing?
Title:
Post by: Masamune on August 21, 2006, 07:49:31 PM
 Are you going as Gaston? *Will totally have to stalk you if you are*

:D I'm going as the Queen of Hearts, complete with plush Cheshire Cat handbag and plush Flamingo mallet... :P my cousin is going as the Evil Queen, and my mum is going as the White Witch...

 We're too stupid to make our own costumes, so we bought all ours off the Disney Shopping website... :) they're all really gorgeous, but like I said, I'm a bit nervous about standing out too much in a crowd...

I'm going, my first Halloween Soiree, I shall be dressing up as Captain Hook, keeping with the pirate theme, yet supporting the original and best Disney pirate  .  Bought it off the net now I'm just waiting for it to arrive in the post.   Bring on All Hallows Eve :D

:) This will be my first Halloween at Disney too! :D I feel so much better now knowing that at least a few other people will be in costume... :P hopefully there will be a lot more there!

Almost everyone dresses up that night!  Most people just wear cheap dracula or scream costumes.
Title:
Post by: flor on August 22, 2006, 11:35:32 PM
Finally some persons who also dress up as a Disney Character instead of those 'scary things'. It couldn't be better.
In the last 3 years, we only saw increasing the number of disney costumes.

 I hope I don't stand out too much in my big fat Queen of Hearts dress... o-o it's all sticky outy at the bottom like a Princess dress...

:) Hopefully there will be plenty of people in Disney costumes, but if not, I still feel loads better knowing that almost everyone dresses up for the party... :P it should be fun! *Will see if she can get away with hitting random people with her mallet*

So where has everyone got their costumes from? :)

Hi - I'm going with my two friends and one of their daughters.  We are planning on going as Flora, Fauna and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty although the little girl is going as a pirate as we can't persuade her to wear a dress!!
Title:
Post by: Masamune on August 23, 2006, 08:54:06 PM
 Aww...one would think any little girl going to Disneyland would want to go as a Princess, but Pirates are just as good... :) and the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty is such a lovely idea! *Likes Fauna the best* :D

Do you think that all the magicforum members should get a group photo that night?  :)  8)
Title:
Post by: Masamune on August 29, 2006, 12:20:00 PM
:D I think that would be a nice idea! XP It may be difficult to get all of us in one place at one time though... :) since this is our first Halloween, no doubt me, my mum and my cousin will be wanting to do some exploring first!
Title:
Post by: Anthony on August 29, 2006, 01:55:13 PM
A group photo would be great!

I'm not sure if i'm going yet, it's still possible, but planning 2 months ahead is a bit of a stretch for me. I'm not sure if I'd go in costume anyway, I'm always rubbish at things like that and I don't look like any Disney character.  Maybe something more generic like a ToT bellhop?  Or does anyone know how I could accomplish a Lightning McQueen costume? :P

:( I've got some bad news...my cousin may not be coming with us now because she lost her job, and can't afford to pay for the hotel... which means I won't be wearing my costume to the party...

^^; I'm not a very confident person, but when I'm with my cousin I'm not even aware of what people might be thinking about me... o-o so basically if she doesn't end up coming I'm gonna have to chicken out...of course I'll still be going to the Halloween party, just not in my Queen of Hearts costume...

:) Maybe do Halloween next year?

:P Mum wanted us to go for Christmas this year, but I've always wanted to go for Halloween... :D we'll probably going for Christmas next year...

@ Baloo - o.o Tell uuuus!

My cousin definatly isn't coming now, so it's 50/50 whether or not I'll end up wearing my costume...what we might do is go to the party for a bit without costume, then pop back to our hotel to change if we feel like it... mum's decided she prefers my cousin's Evil Queen costume, and I really love my Queen of Hearts costume, so it would be a shame if I didn't end up wearing it...
Title:

Just wear it!!! You'll get lots of compliments from the CM's and characters!!!!
Title:

Title:
Post by: Masamune on October 18, 2006, 04:08:40 PM
:P Well, we'll see then...

:D We really should try and arrange a time/place to meet up at the party for a group pic! Maybe near the entrance at the start of the party would be a good idea? So we'll all be meeting up before going into the party?
Title:
Post by: Kristof on October 18, 2006, 04:11:33 PM
Yeah, we really have to do that.  Let's say 20.45h in front of the Gazebo on Town Square?  Or has anyone else other suggestions?
Title:
Post by: Masamune on October 18, 2006, 04:20:29 PM
What time does the party actually start?

:P And this is the one on the 31st... o.o I heard there's one on the 30th as well, but we're going to the one on the 31st...
Title:

There's only one this year.  It should start around 8.30pm, half an hour after the park closes.

This will be my first Halloween night in a Disney park.
I'll be there with a group of about 30-35 friends. It's  the Parksmania Club Halloween Meeting    :D

Cool, the meetup sounds like an idea and 8:45pm should be ok, unless I have some problem like getting boots on my feet (it has been known before) .

Remember that Lightning McQueen costume?  That's the one.

Lol, no - it's a rather unconvincing jack skellington.  It came today and doesn't look that bad though, but I know people will be staring at the bow tie all night.

I'll be at the gazebo anyway, probably with captain hook... :)

Don't ever feel self concious about wearing your outfit - Disney is one of the rare places in the world where you can act like a kid, do what you want and join in without being judged - as everyone else is doing the same.  Get your outfit on and walk as tall and imperiously as the Queen of Hearts would!  I'll be looking out for you on the night.

@ Baloo - :P Aww, I bet you look fab!

@ ruthie - I'm trying to think positive! I've always said that Disney isn't just for kids... my main worry now is how I'm gonna get on rides wearing that huge dress...it's got so many layers of netting underneath it sticks right out! :) I'm sure on the night I'll be too excited to worry about what other people think of me...

:D Who are you going as?
Title:

So to confirm to everyone, we're meeting up in front of the Gazebo (on Town Square) at 8.45 pm.  We'll be getting a group photo and then everyone can spread out in the park and have fun.    8)

We were going as flora, fauna and merryweather but my friends got cold feet. So now I'm a pink and black punk witch.  My witches hat is so big it won't fit in my case though so having to take it as hand luggage (might get some funny looks at Liverpool tomorrow!)

I finally found some info on the Soirée!

It's from an interview with the head show designer on this blog (//http://www.media-magic.blogspot.com/):

I haven't got time to translate it all - basically it's "Pink Witches (Halloweenland) versus Pirates (Adventureland)", including a parade done by outside performers with a giant boat of some kind on the parade route.  A "unique" fireworks show with Pirates 1 + 2 music aswell.  Interesting...  :)

Well, the halloween party was... interesting.

Fireworks were ok, ghost ship cavalcade was pretty awful, generally in terms of the entertainment they put on it was a bit of a miss. Lucky, meeting up with people still made it a great night  I'll post more of my unimportant opinion in a trip report soonish, if i find more coins for this santa fe machine.

Title: Party Night
Post by: ruthiebabie on November 02, 2006, 10:27:40 AM
Thought I would add my comments on Halloween, firstly in 14 years of going I have never seen it so busy!  We must just go at really quiet times normally.  The park decorations I thought were better than last year - seemed even more pumpkin men and things going on.  The party itself in the evening - thought the whole walking towards the studio and then back towards the park to get in seemed pointless and took longer - it was just one big stampede.  There were some amazing costumes and I really enjoyed people watching.  The parade (of what I could see as it was 5 people deep at Casey Corner) I enjoyed. We walked to the end of main street to watch the fireworks which were good but not that much different to others I have seen there.  Overall - I'm glad I did it but I wouldn't do it again I don't think.

:) The party was fab... :( I just wish we could've made it for the group pic...the fact that we got to the park at half past but didn't get in till 8:50pm was ridiculous!

:P Oh well, at least I saw you guys on the bridge going into Fantasy Land... ;) I wish I would've had longer to stare at raptor in his Gaston costume! He looked gorgeous!

*Runs to post a proper Trip Report*

I'm in a photos magiques galley, that's so strange.

At least the pink witches liked my costume, one said in french "if you ever want a lover then i'm here, jack!"

The two gastons was cool - kristof was by far the best!
