Title: Trip report 14-Sep-2014 to 18-Sep-2014 (Report Complete)
Post by: DisneyRon on September 14, 2014, 11:29:07 AM
I've been going over the various posts, adding the odd relevant photo that I took at a later point in my visit, and extending explanations a little, correcting spelling mistakes, that sort of thing.

As I'm typing this my Thalys is speeding along towards Paris (well, relatively, it's not allowed to go truly fast until it passes Brussels). The trip to Rotterdam and the hour there were uneventful, but now I'm onboard the Thalys the pre-Disney jitters have started to set in. :)

I've been listening to a whole bunch of classic Disney soundtracks while on the train, and that really brings a smile to my face, especially in the knowledge that I'll be at DLP in a few hours.

I actually have the real-time wait-times open on a separate tab to see where I'll probably go first when I arrive in a little over 3 hours (assuming I manage to catch all my connections in one go).

I hope to work on this report while I'm still at the park while the memories are fresh. :)

I hope you have a magical time. It's a good way to go about it, as it's bloody hard to remember everything that happened each day once you're home.

Thank you Gemma, Aurora and Lizi, I'll do my best and will let the magic do its thing.

The Thalys arrived at Paris Nord on schedule, and thanks to a little planning on my part I managed to catch all my connections on the first go. I arrived at Disneyland 5 minutes ahead of schedule. :D
Dropped my suitcase off at the Express desk, grabbed my tickets and then into the park itself.

First order of business was Pirates of the Caribean, the wait according to DLRPR was only 30 minutes, so that was as good a time as any. Heading along the back passage to PoTC was easy enough, as this walkway is never that busy it seems. :) Arrived in good time, sped through the queue and thoroughly enjoyed my ride. :)

Next up was Phantom Manor, which only had a 15 minute wait listed, I think I've been on this ride when I was in the park for the first time, but that was more than 18 years ago! :-[ Enjoyed the ride, but did notice that, like others have said, the animatronics are in need of some major maintenance. Quite a few things didn't work I think.

Seeing that time was proceeding apace, and I wanted to do a few more things before dinner, I headed over to the Studios park to check out Ratatouille: the Adventure. The waiting time on this ride had been consistently high throughout the day, and was still at 75 minutes when I got there. I decided to use my DLH Fast Pass for the day for this ride, as I was unlikely to do many more given what time it was.
The Fast Pass reduced the 75 minute wait to about 10 minutes, which is far more manageable, and it was certainly worth it. The ride is truly amazing, extremely well done. :D Score one for the Imagineers on this one.

By now it was a quarter to six, and I had a table booked at the California Grill for 7, and I wanted to freshen up a bit before heading off to eat. Went over to the hotel, checked in, got my room keys, and went to look for my room, as my luggage had been sent ahead by Disney Express. :) I managed to get lost a little and found myself on the wrong floor looking for my room. :D Found it eventually and was quite pleased with how it looked. Nice large King Sized bed and a comfy sofa in the room (which I'm sitting on as I type this), plenty of space too. Really happy with it.

Cleaned up a little bit and headed off to the California Grill for dinner. The food was in a word, amazing, and I deeply regret not bringing my phone or camera to take snaps of some of the dishes. Especially the Dessert.

I had a "dessert d'Olaf" (or Olaf's Laugh in English) which is basically an Olaf figurine built from Vanilla Icecream, with a coconut fondant base topped with dabs of cream, chocolate arms and hair and a sweet Meringue as the head. I actually felt bad eating this work of art, he was delicious, but he looked so cute and nice. :o

Dinner was finished in under an hour, so I thought I could grab a ride or two before dreams and closure of the park.

I took this one as headed into the park, the crowds were already gathering for Dreams as I passed through Main Street on my way to Adventureland.

After a few detours (due to sections of the park already closing for the night) I ended up at PoTC again, now with only a 5 minute wait I was in a boat in no time at all. And those there were some of the last guests of the evening. :D The ride will be closed until Thursday.

On my way back to Main Street for Dreams I noticed that Peter Pan's Flight was mostly empty, so I went for a quick spin on that, I had never ridden it before and was pleasantly surprised. It's a really nice dark ride. :D

Thanks to this unplanned stop at Peter Pan's I did miss one final ride on Phantom Manor, but that's not really an issue.

By the time I ended up back on Main Street Dreams was well underway, and I decided to skip it in favour of watching it entirely on a different day. :)

Heading back to the Hotel I made plans for a quick drink at Bar Fantasia and then off to my room to type up the day's report.

At Fantasia I noticed that they served the Blue " Glow-Tini"  I  had heard of in another thread on these forums, so I decided to grab one to try. It's a 17 euro cocktail with citrus vodka, blue curacoa, peach liquer and pineapple juice. It tastes heavenly, with only a minimal hint of actual alcohol, but that doesn't make it any less potent though, my goodness, that's a strong drink.

Well, that's it for me for day 1, I'm off to bed, early start tomorrow for EMH.

Inattention for the most part really. I'll explain once I'm turning in for the Day.
Suffice to say, I have 3 stitches in my head.

well, I'm back and for the most part intact. ;D
I have the Buffalo Bill show at 21:30, and after that I'll most likely hit the hay. :D
So I'll write up my day now, as I've got about 90 minutes to kill.

The day started off a little early as my mental alarmclock assumed that waking up at 3:30 in the morning was acceptable while on holiday. :) I managed to convince it otherwise and continued dozing until about 6:30.

After getting a nice and early breakfast at Inventions I headed into the park for EMH.

A ride on Pinocchio's Voyage and Peter Pan's Flight were the first points of business and after that a ride on Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast followed (I scored a meagre 13000 points). Walking back from Buzz I spotted a very distinctive bag on a bench, complete with someone who looked a lot like one of the forum avatars here. I had found Andybear!! :D
(http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p151/azhrarn-101/DSCF1448.jpg)

We chatted for a bit, took photos of each other and together to prove that we had run into each other in the park and chatted for a while over a drink in the Marketside Deli.

After going our separate ways I picked up a shirt in one of the shops and used the Shopping Service to have it sent to my hotel for pick-up later. I then made my way to Phantom Manor to make use of its ridiculous 5 minute queue time.
I then made my way to the Frontier Land Depot and spotted these guys on the way over
(http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p151/azhrarn-101/DSCF1450.jpg)

After waiting for the train and riding it to Discoveryland I made a trip on Star Tours and from there heading back in the direction of Main Street to freshen up before heading to Chez Remy.

Unfortunately the striking fellow below ruined my best laid plans by getting in the way of my inattentive head.

Initially I didn't even realise something was wrong, as a fairly tall person I bump my head more often than I'd like and usually I just shrug it off. This time however, when I felt what the lump was like I came back with a hand covered in blood! I quickly made my way to the nearest CM and she escorted me to the first-aid post. The doctor there told me it was too serious to just bandage up and called for someone to drive me to the Hospital. I spent a little over 4 hours in the hospital, most of it waiting in the ER for a doctor who would put in the stitches.

I have to say Disney's response to this "emergency" was extremely professional and courteous. I was very happy to have these people around to help me, I'm a little less pleased with the hospital service as you might imagine.
Nothing against the doctors or nurses who treated me, they were courteous, professional and fast, but the waiting was terrible.

After returning to the park at 17:40 (the incident happened at around 12:55) I was introduced to someone from customer care who wanted to compensate me for my lost time in the parks (it wasn't even their fault, I was just being absent-minded). I received a VIP ticket to the stunt show on Wednesday in WDS, a VIP ticket for PoTC for when it reopens on Thursday and a beverage coupon. I was quite stunned, I certainly hadn't expected anything like this. So props once again to Disney for making my stay as amazing as possible. :D

In the Hotel I managed to change the booking on my Buffalo Bill ticket from the 18:30 show to the 21:30 one, and since I was going to have to wait a few more hours I used my spare meal-ticket from Lunch-time (by now it was 6 o'clock and I hadn't eaten a bite since breakfast) to have a light meal in Inventions before topping off at Buffalo Bills Show.

Hopefully tomorrow won't be as much of a roller-coaster of emotions and occurrences, but I do hope I'll enjoy myself. :)

Back from Bill's amazing show, I had a blast. :D And I even have a cowboy hat as a souvenir. ;D
The food was pretty heavy stuff, but tasted great. Well worth a visit in my opinion, but bringing an apetite is required as you'll be full pretty quickly otherwise.
There so much great interaction with the crowd in that show, it is a blast just being part of the audience! :o

Now I'm off to bed, I hope I don't ruin the nice pillows, as there is a fair bit of blood in my hair still. I'll wash it out tomorrow, but right now I didn't want to risk messing with the wound and those stitches.

Time to do my report for the Tuesday, it was a late night so I didn't have a chance to type it up yet. :D
Let's get this show on the road.

Morning started a little later than the day before, with (as it turned out, too light) breakfast at around 8-ish before heading off to the park for EMH at around 9-9:15.

I didn't get up to much this morning as I felt a little sluggish from the Paracetamol (nice painkiller, but it makes me very sleepy). I did a round on Pinocchio's Voyage and wandered through Fantasyland a little. By now it was around 10, so the regular guests were being let into the park. I decided to pay a visit to a Lady I hadn't seen yet during my stay, and wandered over to the castle to decend into the caverns below through the shop.
Malificent was looking good today, though I was a little worried about that missing chain, she could fly off if she wanted!

Made my way to Discoveryland for a visit to the Nautilus. ;) Wandered the park a little bit, very slowly making my way in the direction of Adventureland, picking up some water at "the curious Giraffe" and spotting with my own eyes what gives the shop its name, then walked through the story of Aladdin and headed into Frontierland to pay a visit to Phantom Manor. The queues this morning were abnormally short and our group at the Manor consisted of only 8 people.

After this I made my way back to the hotel for a short rest, as I was feeling a little under the weather.
When I arrived at the restaurants in the hotel I spotted Gideon! And promptly had my photo taken with him. :)
He was looking a little forlorn and lonely as most of the guests were already in the park.

When I got back to the park it was almost noon, so I thought I'd get a bit to eat before heading to City Hall for my tour appointment at 13:00. Hakuna Matata in Adventureland seemed like a good idea and I made my way over. The food looked nice, although I met some resistance trying to pay for my meal with a Premium Meal ticket, the CM behind the teller seemed a little distraught that I'd use a coupon like that on a cheap meal.
After explaining that I didn't have time for a Table-service meal today, and telling her 3 times that, yes I wanted to use that coupon for a meal at her restaurant I got my food and sat down. The food was very nice too, the African Chicken especially. :D

After finishing my meal I slowly made my way towards City Hall and after a short wait there our Guide arrived and we could start our tour. Our group consisted of 3 people, 2 gentlemen from Liege in Belgium and myself. For the next 2 hours we wandered the park and heard many small about various locations and were even allowed to look behind the scenes at Star Tours to see the hydraulics the ride uses, while it was in operation!
Our guide also explained why the photo-shop had been remodelled, as with the bankruptcy of Kodak (who were Disney's partner for all things photography) and the disappearance of film as a sell-able commodity the story had little actual use, though he too disliked the loss of all those authentic cameras and the feel of the store.

After the conclusion of our tour I found myself in Discoveryland and the nearest attraction was Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast, the queue was only 5 minutes so I went for a spin and scored almost as badly as the last time, getting 17000 points. I then decided that I wanted to ride Ratatouille so I made my way over to WDS and used my DLH Fastpass to get onto the ride, although the queue was only 30-odd minutes, I then wandered the Studios looking for a place to cash in my Pause Gourmande coupon, but that's not as easy as it sounds with most of the food stalls being closed.
The weather had heated up a fair bit over the last few hours and I wasn't feeling particularly terrific, so I made my way back to the Hotel for a short lie-down.

After resting a little I made my way back to DLP to catch the parade, and as usual cried my eyes out watching it. ;D I don't know why, but the atmosphere and music really trigger something, even though I'm enjoying myself a great deal. I had found a great spot at the Tram depot, standing in the shade under the arches there I had a perfect view of the parade as it passed by.

By now it was nearly 6 o' clock so I went by to my room to freshen up a bit before heading to Inventions for my dinner reservation. In the restaurant the characters were out in force, and I met Pluto, Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Pinocchio and one of the Penguins from Mary Poppins all in the space of 60 minutes or so, I also had another Glow-tini, though this one was a LOT stronger than the one I had earlier in my visit.

After that I headed back to my room for a little while until about 20:30, when I made my way back to the park to find a spot to watch Dreams. :D The only other time I've seen this show was 2 years ago during the 20th Anniversary year so I rather enjoyed this update version of it, though there were a fair number of people trying to ruin the experience by using powerful lights and flash photography to take selfies during the show.  >:(

Really now, you're watching a show like that, and rather than taking pictures of the show you point your flash at my face to take your stupid selfie??

After Dreams concluded I headed back to the hotel, and more specifically, Bar Fantasia, to have a few drinks with Andybear and chat about our adventures for the day and whatever else came up.
Andy had a Glow-Tini and I enjoyed a Red Summer (an alcohol free strawberry and cherry cocktail) followed by a Sarastro (a strong cherry-liquer cocktail).

We parted ways at around midnight, and I went to sleep almost immediately after changing for the night. Guess that cocktail was stronger than I thought. ;D

Today I plan to spend a good deal of time in WDS, as I haven't been in that park much, as well as doing a little souvenir shopping, something that I haven't really taken the time for.

Not really my style, rollercoasters and such aren't my thing, as such I usually skip them. I do love the theme of the hotel.

I'd love to hear what the weather is like, at my hubby's request, we went June this year instead of September, this messed with my head as it meant we had 2 trips within a 12 month period, but now it's September and I have to trip to enjoy, and aren't planning to go till next September,  He said it was because he wanted to go when it was hot, but June was way way tooooo hot!  I can understand, don't want to be there when it's cold either, and right now in England it's miserable weather, so what's it like in Paris?  Is it stable?  warm but not too hot?  or is it cold (coat weather) there too?  (only asking cos I'm desperate for an excuse to visit sooner!)

Well... The weather has been more or less perfect. 20-25 degrees, clear blue skies, haven't worn anything other than t-shirts. At night the temperature has been around 15-18 degrees.
Perfect themepark weather in my opinion.

Time to post up todays report. I may make another post with my 2nd dinner experience at the California Grill. ;)

I slept in a little bit, as it seems exhaustion from a lot of long days spent walking and enjoying Disney does take its toll eventually, I have a lot of sleep to catch up on.

Had breakfast at Inventions at around 8:30, though I was seated in the California Grill, which has its own buffet. Apparently they use that as an overflow site when it's busy.

After a hearty breakfast I headed out to Disney Village for a little souvenir hunting, I had promised a co-worker to bring her a few mugs from the World of Disney store. However my first stop was the lego store, and it is quite amazing to behold. :D
(http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p151/azhrarn-101/DSCF1487.jpg)

After gawking at all the Lego for a while I went over to World of Disney for my Mug-hunt. In the end I bought 4 of them, one of Dreams! for myself, and a Winnie the Pooh, Mickey and Letter mug for my co-worker.

By now it was almost 11 o'clock, which meant that my appointment at the Stunt Show was almost up in about an 45 minutes. ;D I wandered around a little bit and showed up at the show location around 11:30. However the CMs there had no record of my VIP reservation :( :o My name wasn't on their list... However they did let me in, bypassing the queues and seating me in the handicapped spaces as close to the middle as possible on the 2nd row (behind the wheelchairs). This meant I had an amazing view of the show, which is really the only thing I would have wanted, so I was quite content. :D Despite missing out on the VIP treatment. Luckily I have an actual VIP ticket for Pirates tomorrow.

After the show concluded I quickly went over to Ratatouille to use my Fast Pass for the day, as I didn't expect to be in the parks too much today, and the passes aren't valid between 13:00 and 16:00.

The time was now almost 1 PM,  and I wanted to get a small bite to eat as I did have to wait until 15:00 for my lunch appointment at L'Auberge de Cendrillon. So I headed over to the Earl of Sandwich.

After enjoying my sandwich I headed back to my room to rest a little while.
Around 14:15 I headed into DLP making a reservation at the California Grill for tonight, and wandering through Frontierland, Adventureland and finally Fantasyland and took a ride on Snow White and the 7 Dwarves.
By now it was 14:50 so I decided to head into L' Auberge to see if they had a table free. :)
Luckily they did, and I ended up in a relatively quiet side-room of the main dining hall.
The Mice and Princesses were out in force, and over the course of my meal I met Suzy, Perla, Cinderella (and Prince Charming). Ariel didn't notice me apparently, and Aurora hadn't made her way over to my spot yet when I left.

I did however have my photo taken with Cinderella and the Prince (sorry for my ugly mug ruining the picture).

As for the food, that was great, I had Pumpkin and Mushroom soup as a starter, and roast veal for the main course. The dessert was relatively simple, but very tasty.
It was also on fire when it was served. :D

Now I'm here, sitting in the Main Street lounge of the hotel, enjoying an Alcohol free cocktail from Fantasia as the WiFi in my wing of the hotel appears to have died. Dinner is in 45 minutes, at the California Grill.

At 21:00 I'm meeting Andy again for a few drinks in the bar as that worked out really well yesterday.

The Stunt Show is Moteurs I presume, how is it? I heard for sometime that a lot has been dropped, has the Gunman on the Roof returned or any other stunts?

the gunman on the roof was present, and shooting. Lots of car based stunts, but the jump was left out.

Basically it's a walkthrough of a day of shooting at a vehicle heavy action movie, it's a nice clean storyline and they really highlight how some of the stunts are done, which is really cool to see and hear about. :)

As I type this up I'm once more on board a Thalys, speeding towards the Netherlands.

Dinner last night at the California Grill was wonderful, I had a soft-egg starter that turned out to be a whole lot more filling than I anticipated followed by a 12-hour Slow-cooked rack of lamb with Cous Cous with a hint of citrus.
After the wonderful lamb it was time for dessert, and like my first time, it looked so spectacular that it was almost a shame to eat. It's called "The Temptation of Snow White."
The smoke comes from a small chunk of dry ice in the "potion"  underneath.

After this wonderful meal I met up with Andy once more for a few drinks and chatting about our respective days in the parks, winding away the hours into the night.

After walking Andy back to Sequoia Lodge and walking back to DLH I went to bed.

My planned long nights sleep was rudely interupted when I woke up at 5 in the morning with my throat almost swolen shut! :o I called the frontdesk for a doctor, and with the help of a CM set up a call to the French emergency services. They sent over a doctor (who arrived in 10 minutes, rather than the CMs estimated 90) and he diagnosed that I had an acute case of viral tonsolitis. Nothing too serious, but very unpleasant none-the-less. After prescribing me some medication to ease the discomfort and Disney graciously extending my check-out by a few hours I went back to bed.

I woke up at around 9:30, went downstairs to the lobby, asked the reception to have the prescribed meds delivered, had breakfast, packed my bags, dropped them off at the luggage desk and eventually checked out of the DLH. By now my medication had also been delivered so I picked those up along the way.

The time was now 11-ish and I finally went into the park. :D First thing was my VIP trip on Pirates, as the queues had grown to about 20 minutes for the ride. Next up was Peter Pan's Flight with my final DLH Fast Pass. :)

Time was moving apace and it was only about 40 minutes to my Lunch reservation at Walt's.
So I decided to wander around mainstreet a little, watching Mary Poppins penguins do all kinds of antics with their fans. :) And shedding a quiet tear about the fact that I was about to leave this place. The food at Walt's was great as usual,  and after leaving the restaurants I made a final round of Main Street as it was almost time to go to the train station and head back to Paris Nord to catch my Thalys.

So far the trip has been uneventful, and I hope it stays that way. :D I've had enough excitement for a while. :P

Addendum: The train trip home was entirely uneventful and I made it back home at around 21:40.

Nice to read a trip report of the days i was there. Waitingtimes were very low tuesday and wednesday. Tuesday we did ratouille (twice), TOT (twice), crush coaster (twice), rock and roller coaster, rc racer, parachute drop, studio tram Tour and lunch all before 3 pm

Did you notice the power faillure yesterday? All rides (besides toy story land and fantasyland) went down around 4.30 pm. Took them about a half hour to fix the problem. After that they slowly started the rides again. Tot was open very cast, but crush didnt reopen to 5.50 pm

I noticed mainly because all the lights at L'Auberge de Cendrillon suddenly went out. :)
Didn't have any ride troubles, mainly because I hardly did any that day. ;)
Later in the evening we had another brief failure, the DLH went dark for a few seconds.

Hi.  I was on Slinky in the Studios when the power went.  At the time we didn't realise it was everything - an announcement was made that Slinky was dizzy and was taking a rest for a while!  We got let off after about 10 minutes.  I then went to Ratatouille and that was down too and a few minutes later I heard someone say that the power was down in the 2 parks.

I had what started off as a not too nice start to the holiday.  I stayed at Sequoia Lodge and since I was alone I'd booked a Montana room in the main building so that I didn't have to walk through all the trees etc at night.  Unfortunately when I checked in I was told there were no Montana rooms available!  I wasn't happy and to cut a long story short I eventually agreed to go in one of the Lodges (Big Sur) and as compensation I was given a VIP Fastpass for the whole 5 days!  It actually worked out great in the end as Big Sur is one of the closest Lodges to the main building and of course being able to walk on Ratatouille and Peter Pan in a matter of minutes whenever I wanted to was great  :D

I'm home now and will do my own trip report over the next couple of days, when I've been through all the photos.  I'm so glad I booked the whole week off work - I can do a bit of food shopping tomorrow morning then chill out for the rest of the day.

It's a spectacular dessert, but a bit of a mess to eat, you only get a spoon for the final course, and that "apple" will slide all over that glass dish while you're trying to dig into it. You'll need to use your hands to stop it sliding off.

It's a ball of light mousse (not entirely sure on the flavour, no strong overtones in there) with a vanilla ice-cream core, and the whole thing is covered in red sugar. It tastes heavenly I might add.

Just before this was served a group of ladies with their children was seated next to me, they had just been given the menus (iPads with a custom app), and when the waiter brought that beauty in, one immediately asked me where in the menu she could find it (it's in the Tinkerbell Menu) because she wanted one too.

After finding out that would mean having to pay extra she decided to stick to her Premium Meal voucher, so I recommended she take "Olaf's Laugh" instead, which is also amazing.

..... woah, yes I was wondering, is that 'apple' thing edible/ or part of the desert or decoration?
.. but sounds like it was really quite nice, albeit a bit fiddly/ how the heck do I eat this!? ;D, but I'm sure you managed it as best and politely as possible!:) (especially on that raise platform)
- mind you it probably looks bigger in the picture than in real life? ;)

... was something/ some pastry thing wrapped around your plate/dish that the lamb was served on?

Eating it without making a mess was a bit of a challenge, yes. :D
The little drops of mousse around the plate were easy though.

As for the size, that ball is easily 3-3.5 inches across. ;D So it's not a small dessert, I assure you.
The plate it's on is about a foot across. It's bigger than you'd think. ;)

Oops, completely forgot to answer your other question. :o

The lamb and couscous is served in a bowl with a closed pastry top, and the waiter cuts it open for you when it's served.

That dessert was quite something, easily the most spectacular thing I've had served to me in a very long time.

Everything about the food at the California Grill shouts quality over quantity (even though the portions are not small), though that quality does come at a price.

I'm still quite unhappy that I failed to get a picture of Olaf's Laugh, it's not as spectacular as the "Temptation", but still a gorgeous dessert and utterly delicious, and I've completely failed to find pictures of it online too.

Next time I go I'll try and save up more so I can try and eat in some of the fancier restaurants as it looks like they have some good stuff, but being a jobless student doesn't make that easy unfortunately~

Thank you very much, I had a wonderful stay, regardless of what my inattention caused to happen. :)

Those fancy restaurants are very much worth it in my opinion, but you are correct that it can get pretty costly. ;) Also, those cocktails... yum. :D I normally don't drink much alcohol, but I had a fair few of Bar Fantasia's cocktails during my stay, and they were gorgeous. :)

The tonsil infection is as good as gone now, but thank you for the tip, although I suspect that's more for the bacterial version, rather than the viral version. :)
As for new Phantom Manor Merchandise, I don't think so, there were some unfamiliar items, but as my last visit was 2 years ago I don't know if those were actually new, or I just didn't remember them being there. ;)

I'm doing just fine now, the stitches came out over 2 weeks ago, and the wound had healed up very nicely. :)
So no worries, full recovery was made. ;) Same goes for the viral tonsilitis, that was mostly gone 2-3 days after I woke up with it.

The DLH is a wonderful place to stay indeed, they were busy tearing out the carpets along the main corridors when I left, so I suppose that will look nice and new fairly soon. :)

I actually saw your post in the Bistrot Chez Remy thread about missing it because you'd sent yourself to hospital, so I looked here to see if you'd written a trip report. It sounds like even with the delays, accidents and illnesses you had a good time and managed to get a lot done

I had an amazing time and indeed got a lot of things done, the accident cost me half a day and a visit to Chez Remy, but beyond that did little damage to my trip, and the tonsil infection was on my final morning, so it didn't really spoil too much. ;)

I deeply regret not having my phone or camera on me on my first visit to the California Grill, the dessert for the Premium Plan menu is a gorgeous Olaf statue made from fondant, icecream and a meringue decorated with chocolate. :D
Not having a photo of that is a bit of a bummer, but it was delicious. ;)

I know, I was thinking that while reading the report - what a shame you didn't get a photo of it - hey, you should have asked the lady on the next table, who you advised to get it... (Excuse me, can I just take a photo of your food.... hahaha... That would have gone down well... ;) )
We are going again in a month, so will be adding to the food photo collection - sadly not going to the California Grill though... Hopefully someone else will be able to provide us with a photo of Olaf. :)
Oooh, WDW!! I would LOVE to go there... But for now the funds will only stretch to DLP I'm afraid. Still hoping for that lotterywin. I will be doing a tour of all the parks in the world, if that should ever happen... One can  always dream...! :-[

Well, the lady was still picking out the food she wanted to order, they wouldn't have gotten to the dessert for at least another hour or so, and I was already on my own dessert. ;D

That's probably one of the biggest unwritten benefits of being on your own, I can go eat at a table service restaurant and be out again in under and hour. ;)

As for your dream, keep that one alive, you may never know if you'll be able to do it one day.
