Hi all,
After the recent news that Darth Vader has been brought back for meet and greets around Star Tours, it got me thinking what characters would you like to see more of, or havent even seen at all around the parks for meet and greets?
For me it would have to be Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer bear, the last time i saw them in Disneyland Paris must have been over 10 years ago, i know that the reason may be because there isn't a Splash Mountain at Disneyland Paris but i still think they would fit right in wandering around Frontierland, who would you guys like to see more off?
thanks
I would like to Meet Alice (in wonderland), Esmeralda (hunchbak of notre dame) Pocahontas and meeko! I know these characters are seen around the parks from time to time, moreso at halloween season for some reason but personally I have never seen or met them!
Hmmm, I would rather we had more streetmousphere and bands appropriate to the themes of the park. In the American parks, it used to be you would see something like that at virtually every turn.
Character meet and greets are too much of a scrum in Europe. But I wouldn't mind a Roger and Jessica Rabbit meet, more villains and Jack Skellington outside of Halloween season, and the Dapper Dans are my number 1.
I would like to see Scrooge McDuck more often. I have only seen him once.
Mike, Nemo and Wall-E would be fab :P
Quote from: "dagobert"I would like to see Scrooge McDuck more often. I have only seen him once.
I saw him on the 28th December! :)
i dont want other characters, just an updated version of woody, jesse, and buzz: they used to scare me as a little kid. They should look more like the movie !!!
I would like to see Alice, Clopin, Esmerelda and some more of the villains randomly walking around (not just during Halloween) Also Belle in her blue dress would be nice. =]
Belle in her blue dress is seen around Christmas, I believe. Never saw her in blue.
My daughter would say Angel in a second.
I have never seen Pocahontas, Esmeralda, Scrooge, 7 Dwarfs, Marie, them I would like to see.
Aurora1
I'd like to see more of Disney's modern characters, such as Bolt, Mittens and Rhino. That said, these costumes are a little off-model :D
(//http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e291/makasper/Disney%20Hollywood%20Studios/DHS_113008_022.jpg)
I'd like to see characters in lands coordinating with themselves, like in my recent trip I saw Gepetto and Eeyore in Adventureland together. How confusing? Both have nothing to do with each other and neither of their stories happen in an exotic location :? .
I'd also like to see some characters that are popular in the other resorts find their way to DLP, like Marie or Thumper & Miss Bunny.
Defo would like to see Jack Skellington outside of halloween, me and the other half love him, but going at halloween really isnt an option at the mo, also pocahontas and ive never seen tinkerbell apart from in fantillusion, so wouldnt mind seeing her as well :belle: xx
I would love to see Piglet around the park!!!!!!!
The seven dwarves are often used in advertising material but I've never ever seen them in the parks, except for Dopey in a parade.
Other characters that are frequent at other parks such as Marie, Thumper, Phil, LOTSO, Mr.Potato Head etc. should find their way over to Paris.
A LOTSO meet and great in toy story playland would be a massive pull!!!
I also agree with the theming. Why is Donald Duck placed in Toy Story playland? A very long list of misplaced characters follows.
Martin
Tinkerbell and Lilo.
The Seven Dwarfs, all standing together.
And Stitch with a better costume, there's somewthing about his head that's just not right :?
Quote from: "15MagicalYears"I'd like to see characters in lands coordinating with themselves, like in my recent trip I saw Gepetto and Eeyore in Adventureland together. How confusing? Both have nothing to do with each other and neither of their stories happen in an exotic location :? .

Eeyore was clearly lost, but Gepetto kinda fits with the area, the wreck of a ship on the shoreline (it backs onto the Fantasyland borders), is his ship washed up after defeating Monstro, so as long as he's around there he's fitting!
Marie used to be out and about loads a few years ago, Toon Studio and Main St in the mornings were her usual haunts I seem to recall!
I'd love to see a more consistant way of finding villains, maybe similarly to how we're getting a Princess Pavillion, a Ghastly Grotto or something tucked away in the corner of Adventureland, as if they've all been banished to a remote jungle and you can visit them? It's something I'd be far more interested in than Princesses..
The 7 dwarfs used to be out in late 90's. I have them recorded all of them together at once...
I'd like to see Esmeralda, Pocahontas, Robin & Maid Marian more often. I've seen them in the past, but they are so rare unfortunately. I wished Esmeralda und Pocahontas as well as Meg, would be more important. But i know, they are not princesses.. Although Pocahontas actually is :-k That makes me thing of Jane.. But she is busy at the moment ;)
I also prefer characters in their fitting environment. Pocahontas in Frontierland etc. Or characters dressed to fit, like the fab 5 dressed in jungle costumes in Adventureland and so on.. In the late 90's i saw them pretty often like that.
The 101 dalmatians ... well obviously not all of them just 1 such as patch or pongo or something :) hmm and more of the beauty and the beast characters like lumier !
I very much would like to see the introduction of Wall-E and the return of the Ewoks in Discoveryland. The Hunchback of Notre Dame characters (Clopin, Quasimodo, Esmeralda etc) always bring back memories of the 5th Anniversary, so I would like to see them more often aswell (why no carnaval in Fantasyland in February/March?). And last but not least, it would be great to see more characters surrounding the Fab 5: Max, Roger Rabbit, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Clarabella, Horace Horsecollar, Clara Cluck to name a few. Is Clarice still in the Studios?
Above all, like Dave already mentioned, I would like to see an increase in streetmosphere. The Dapper Dan's and the pianist at Casey's Corner should return, together with the Cinefolies in the Studios. Can anyone still remember the cancan dancers in the Lucky Nugget Saloon and Zorro in Frontierland back in the early years? If I remember correctly there was a small stuntshow on the roof of Fuento del Oro.
I'll agree with those above asking for Wall-E - not sure how a "costume" would work, but surely a simple robotic one wouldn't be too expensive to create?
I went in March 2011 just at the end of the "New Generation" festival and there was a lovely "life size" model of Wall-E & Eve on the way to Star Tours. I assume that this is what's being used for "Share the Love with Wall-E & Eve - 3D Photo Opportunity" in the new brochures?
I also second the fact that Woody & (especially) Jessie look a little scary! the heads/necks are all wrong.
Personally we were all slightly disappointed by the lack of Chipmunks Chip & Dale in and around the park when we were there, in the 5 days we were there, we only saw them in the parade, and they were walking straight down the middle without interacting with the crowd. A shame, as these are our whole family's favourite characters and they were heavily featured in the brochures, promotional material etc we were sent beforehand.
We're going for Saint David's day this year, I wonder if there will be Black Cauldron characters present? (that film is set in Wales and based on Welsh mythology)
Oh, and if they could find an ethnically correct Jasmine that'd be super. The clearly white girl painted brown was a little strange - especially as they only did her face not her neck and arms!
Huey, duey, and louie! Chip and mrs Potts! Dwarfs, mike wawaski, Jessie and woody as face characters, just more in general walking around. We went in may and the only characters we saw walking around were chip and Dale!
Quote from: "alternativerock123"Also Belle in her blue dress would be nice. =]
I know it's not in DLP but Belle is very frequently seen in her blue dress in the France section of Epcot - I have a photo with her from there in the blue dress :)
My wish list....
*I'd love to see Pocahontas around DLP - she's one of my favourite characters and I've never seen her in any of the parks (except the Pocahontas show at Animal Kingdom in 2005).
*Huey, Dewey and Louie would also be a must, as I loved Ducktales as a child :)
*All the dwarfs (of course!) The only time I've seen one of them other than Dopey was at DLA about 16 years ago - it was Bashful! :D
*More Villains in general, but specifically the Evil Queen, Maleficent and Gaston
*Lotso in Toy Story Playland would be amazing!
*I have to say Mike too because my boyfriend would love a photo with him!
*Finally, I'd love to see more of Mushu too
Don't want much do I?! Lol!!
When we were there in March 2011 we saw the Evil Queen, Gaston and Cruella DeVil all together in Studios Park by Toon Plaza for one of the organised meet & greets. I have to say, almost nobody was asking them for autographs or pictures, no-one gathering round them, completely unlike the huge crush of people clambering over each other to get to the Princesses or Mice when they walk around. We felt quite sorry for them! Particularly Gaston & Cruella were doing a fantastic job of staying in character.
The trouble is for most of the children it's real! We went in May and my daughter had just turned four and she would hide every time a 'baddy' came near because she thought they would be nasty to her! When we saw Gaston and Cruella in the stars and cars parade I thought they were fantastic at staying in character. The queen starred at my daughter and she put her autograph book over her face!
Its probably only the children that understand or o regulary that would want an autograph! And obviously any adult!
Gyro Gearloose
@mdw Yeah that's a very good point. Funny how so many kids assume the characters are the "real" ones they see in the films, even though they look so different, have static faces etc. Great for their experience that they can extend that feeling of disbelief though I'm not knocking it, must be magic! Personally as a kid I saw always very aware who/what they really were, but loved the cool costumes and was fascinated by how they were made, and quite liked the idea of being one when I grew up!
Glad you also found Gaston & Cruella to be really good, those guys were working so hard (yet clearly having fun with it!)
More Mary Poppins please!
Seven Dwarfs and Mulan and Mushu
I would like to see the seven dwarfs, jiminy cricket and lumiere, cogsworth and abu the monkey from aladdin and the fairy godmothers and tink of course and finally gus and jack from cinderella i don't want much but it would be nice.
Mushu, Mulan, Mad hatter, Piglet, Stormtroopers and Alice :)
i would like to see more star wars characters and all year round as my son loves them, as for my daughter she would like to see more of the seven dwarfs.
i would love to see Marie around the Paris parks more often.... after all her movie is based in France it would make sense.... my sister saw that parade from late June where the visiting VIP was there and Marie was in the parade.... she literally cried for half an hour she was devastated, shes been a fan of Marie pretty much since birth, collected Marie things since she turned 2 when got her first cuddly Marie from the Disney store (its grown to a massive 48 now in varying sizes.... and it put it in perspective, she saw a Marie in the window when we where at dlrp in Jan, spent the 5 days we where there trying to get it out, failed and then spent the next 8 months trying to find one on eBay, finally finding one just before her birthday in august) so a presence of Marie would make my sisters day....
tarzan would be a pretty interesting idea, i wonder how they would clothe him so that he was suitable :-k
also, aladdin and jasmine are my favourites and they are always around in the other parks but i would love to see them more here!
finally, i dont know if any of you have seen it, but in california there is a peter pan character called 'huggy pan' and he is great at interacting with vistors and staying in character. There are loads of videos of him on youtube and he never fails to make me smile!
I'd like to see Belle more at the parks because whenever I visit the parks, I only see her on a rare occasion.
Quote from: "Princess Alexa"tarzan would be a pretty interesting idea, i wonder how they would clothe him so that he was suitable :-k
Here is a picture of Tarzan at WDW:

Have more pictures here: Tarzan at Disney Character Central (//http://www.charactercentral.net/C40_DisneyCharacters_Heroes_Tarzan.aspx)
As far as characters I would like to see at DLP: Three Little Pigs, The Brers, 7 Dwarfs, Robin Hood and Maid Marion, various characters that would fit in Discoveryland (Atlantis characters, Treasure Planet characters), and also wish they would get the "new" characters when their movies come out like WDW
Overall I think DLP does a great job with their variety of characters especially considering their size... but more would always be better :D
I would like to see maybe some more characters from the Pirates Of The Caribbean films to go with Jack Sparrow.
I would love to see the Dapper Dans, sluefoot Sue, Pesos Bill, Sorrow, Davy Crockett, Captain Memo, Jessica Rabbit, more Maleficent, Jessica Rabbit, storm troopers, darth vader, Jessica Rabbit, R2D2 and C3PO, and did I say Jessica Rabbit ;-)
And Casey's corner pianist, native American craftsman and dancers, cancan dancers ,and jack skellington all year long.
Surely they have to bring Lotso over. You think he would be here apart from on those 'special days' due to TSPL and the popularity he has in America.
Phineas, Ferb and Jake NP would be great near the playhouse disney attraction in the studios.
Defo Lotso for me. My girls were really gutted when i told them we would not see him. He is one of there fave Toy Story characters.
My oldest dd has always wanted to meet Stinky Pete. The solid one in Woodys Roundup just does not cut the musturd with her
I would love to see all the seven dwarfs, mulan, pocohontus, charecters from hunchback of notredame and defintly Jack skellington all year round.
Personally I would like to see Lotso, Bullseye, Angel, Phineas and Ferb, Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
May have said that before, but I would love to see a princess together with her prince at the Princess Pavillon.
Aurora1
Marie, Mulan, Belle and Adam/Beast, UP Characters!, Angel, Lilo, Stitch, Pegasus, Aladdin and Jasmine around the The Streets of Agrabah (think thats what it's called.), Pinocchio. ;)
Also I think there should be an orderley queue to meet them, it is like a rugby scrum queueing for the unorganized greets.
I would like to see more of the beast well any characters from BATB would make my day but not in their human form just to be awkward!
I'd also like to see the characters from Robin Hood and the Sword in the Stone.
I would have said previously the Jungle Book and The Lion King but with the Jungle of the Rhythms photo point i have received these.
I would like them to be meet and greets though not a scrum. I love the random characters that come out by Its a Small World though as its normally pretty quiet.
I would love if there would bei fix dates for the Charakters of Alice. We are searching them every year, but last year we asked the CM about the times and this time we were really lucky we met them every time there as he said. Thanx for that. Always about 13:30 or 14:00 we met them.
The new Princess Pavillion is in my opinion not good. Before i did not wait sooooooooooooooo long and there was always a chance for the childs to see the princess even if u can not wait. Now the child of my Friend did not see them coz it was always too full. We always tried it in different times but waiting 2 hours was to long.
The same in meeting Mickey. I think u can see him so often it is not needful a special Meeting Place.
Really this time i missed Chip and Chap. We saw them just on the train but Photo was not possible coz they were there just shortly. Not even in the hotel (Sequoia) or Studios normaly we met them there...
I would like to meet more Marry Poppins and it would be so great if there would be Tinkerbell.
I think it would be awesome if they would add a Mother Gothel face character in the parks!
She is one of my favorite villains, and she has such and outstanding personality. I would love to meet her.
ludwig von drake (he's at wdw), penguins from mary poppins and roger rabbit
QuoteI think it would be awesome if they would add a Mother Gothel face character in the parks!

Now that would make a new villaine for Halloween. I would never have thought of her, great thought!

Second to that! Nothing cuter than seeing all Seven dwarfs walking together! and Pocahontas, Mulan and Esmeralda are some of the most amazing disney characters created! I would like to see Hercules and Megara too :)!
On note a similar I do miss seeing the princesses with their princes, instead of just being themselves :)
Max! Goofy's son! :)
Quote from: "Fairest-one-of-all"I think it would be awesome if they would add a Mother Gothel face character in the parks!

My daughter LOVES mother gothel! Calls her mother goggle as she cant say it yet lol. Think shes always confused at the end of the film why repunzel goes back
Pocahontas would be AMAZING (it's one of my fave Disney movies), Marie (like lots of people are saying! didn't know she was so popular!), ANY characters from Alice in Wonderland because i've never seen any there.. But to be honest, i'd die a happy girl if i met Jack and Sally :D :pumpkin:
-definatly marie from aristocats i feel like her popularity gets bigger every year, my girlfriend is tellinv tat is the most important one
- tinkabell with the faries from pixie hollow, including terrance and blaze
-pocahontis
-hunchback of notre dame
- lilo and stich
- people in tron outfits would be cool as well
- wall - e, how have they not done this already ! it should be simple (i hope it is anyway)
- mulan
- i would realy love to have jack and sally around at christmas as well, halloween is to short a period to be there
- ive not seen woodie, buzz or jessie around i would like that (unless im just missing them)
- a better arranged monsters inc with boo (the one in the studios was a nightmere, sully was not nice to my girlfriend so we csme to the conclusion it wasnt the real sully .... it was an imposter)
- oswald :) i welcome him with open arms
I would like to see Clarabelle and Horace
Top of the list are Phineas and Ferb!! That would be amazing!! They are by far my 2 boys favourite cartoon at the moment!
Sadly we missed Jessie last time we were there - met both Woody and Buzz - but yes, what's up with her neck?!?!! That looks so weird!!
Also I would love Darth Vader and C3PO - the boys have just discovered Star Wars, so that would be great!
We saw the group of characters going to the meet & greets on the central plaza, but only realised when we got home and saw the photos, that Scrooge McDuck was in one of the cars!!!! Damn...!!! I would have run back there to get a photo with him!! So would love to see him out and about more!!
---> btw. does anyone know if you can ask at City Hall in the morning, which characters go to the central plaza that day??
Alice and the Mad Hatter would be great (The labyrinth was shut for refurb when we went, so not much going on there).
There were really not that many characters just walking about when we were there (march 2012). Only saw Sully, Jafar, King Louie and Baloo outside of the arranged meet & greets.... And we were there for 5 days!!! :?
definitely Pocahontas and Meeko! Pocahontas has always been my favourite Disney film, I hate that there's pretty much nothing about her :(
I would love to see Tinkerbell and the other fairirs from Pixie Hollow. Also the characters from Tarzan and some Bambi characters like Thumper and Flower!
OOOO and maybe Hercules, Megara and Phil? they would be awesome to see too!

I totally agree!!! I want the Dapper Dans!!! I don't care for characters anymore, if they bring back the Dapper Dans :D I would just listen to them for hours and hours...
But a character who is seriously missing and has never before made a park appearance EVER... is Pegleg Pete from the Mickey Mouse Cartoons... which i don't understand, because villains have become so popular over the years, and he happens to be the first disney villain (I think) ...
Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, its near impossible to meet them these days despite them being huge charactors and big money makers.
We met them once, 2 years ago! They were at the "Descent of the Stairs" in DLH.
Quote from: "julesk"Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, its near impossible to meet them these days despite them being huge charactors and big money makers.
I saw them last summer as well as '11 at their photo location in Fantasyland!
I don't think anyone's posted this and I know they've never been at dlp and hardly at any other park in the world, but I think it could be a good idea to bring in Taran and Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron. That would make some headline news on all the Disney fanbases :P
Do the frozen characters do any meet and greets .
The little mermaid and Pocahontas
I would loooooove to see Pocahontas... or chicken little
my daughter votes John Carter (teenager!) Although I think a buff guy walking around with his shirt off would be a good attraction for teens, it might not count as really disneyish. I had my photo with Flynn Ryder 2 years ago and she sat in the background gigling too embarassed to come and stand with him herself!
She says she was kidding, her real vote is.....Anna
my son votes tinkerbell, (he's only 8 and gets really embarassed when we tease him about it!)
My 4 year old votes tigger, no matter how many times we stake out the winnie the pooh AND FRIENDS meet and greet, there's only ever winnie the pooh, has anyone ever seen anyone else there?
Any princes, really. The only way to meet them is through the Auberge du Cendrillon... and only one at a time!
Also, Elsa/Anna and Merida meet and greet.
I would love to get my pic taken with the sorcerors apprentice but doubt that i will ever see in dlp, has anyone ever had a pic with him there?
Beast & Lumiere ;D
Definitely the "missing" princesses: Pocahontas, Merida, Anna and Elsa. But I would also love to meet Tinker Bell or Hercules and Meg or Quasimodo, Esmeralda and Phoebus. Isn't it odd that Frollo from tHoND can be seen quite regularly at the parks but Quasi and Esmeralda can't?
Would love to see more of Princess Rapunzel with Prince Flynn and Princess Anna would be amazing.

Frollo is not a regular character. Only during the Halloween season, which is logical since he's a villain and that one month a year is villains time.

He was the main character of the Mickey's Magical Celebration show on Central Plaza Stage, during the Magical Moments festival in 2012. He also "orchestrated" the Bonfire spectacular that year at Lake Disney.

I thought he was regular because I've seen him quite often. I remember seeing him last summer multiple times around Fantasyland at well as in February during the low season. :D
I'd love to see more Aladdin characters, met Aladdin once and the genie once, always seem to miss them. It would be nice to see more of the 'evil villains' walking around not just in October.

Aladin is often in the Studios.
I like the villains at Halloween, just would love some different ones, next time... ;)
Monsters inc/university...the new advert is very misleading...
Be nice to see ANY of them out and about!!!
We literally bumped into Stitch on Monday, and other than the parades there was VERY little in the way of characters in the parks last week. Worst experience of characters we have had in our 3 trips.
Had a wishlist last year of Rapunzel, Peter Pan and Alice. Met Peter and took photos, saw Rapunzel and got an excited photo but unfortunately did not get to see Alice at all. So there's one I'd like to see.
Also, Mary Poppins and Megara would be amazing. Oh and Merida!
Roger Rabbit, never see him, but he always appears in the American Parks, not that I have been!

MERIDA!!! i dont know why they havn't included her in DLP, she's kind of perfect for there being Scottish and all. i would love to meet with her and I think the set up for her M+G in California is pretty perfect with the interactive bears.

Flynn doesn't do any meets unfortunately.
