Title: Breakfast Vouchers
Post by: Ehg_92 on March 10, 2017, 10:40:20 PM
Evening all I am returning to the magic in November and have booked full board plus.
No more Pause au Gormande I  notice, but a breakfast voucher instead.
From what I can make of it these are not valid for the hotel buffet, is this true (my wife and I are staying in the Sequoia Lodge)?
If they are not, can the be exchanged against the cost of the Hotel buffet, and how much would it cost me on top of the voucher?
Thanks guys :)

Update (yes I know it is only minutes since I posted the question :p)
I looked on the DLP booking page (why didn't do this before is beyond me...)
For anyone interested all meal plans include breakfast at your Disney hotel :)

Meal plans that have been paid for include a hotel breakfast.  Meal plans that have been given free as part of your package - like with the current offer -  do not.  If you have been given breakfast vouchers then those vouchers can be exchanged in certain restaurants in the parks for a breakfast item and a drink.  They have a face value of €9 and can be used as part payment towards a hotel breakfast.

Does anyone know exactly where you will be able to use the breakfast vouchers ? Will it only be counter service on main st?

Am I reading this right....a sweet OR savoury breakfast? As in a croissant OR a bread roll and a single drink? Surely that can't be it? Or is it the top pic vs the bottom pic? I was assured there'd be some sort of gluten free option which 4 of my family need......I really hope there is.

I assumed it was either that top picture (savoury) or bottom (sweet).

The icons suggest that there will be a juice, a hot drink, a pastry and a sweet or savoury option.

I've just booked to go to Disney Paris in September ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D- and got the half board meal plan free. I didn't know about the no breakfast being included and I phoned the agent we have booked with. She said that with the breakfast voucher you can get at the old pizza restaurant next to buzz is the same as what you would get at your hotel.

I'm wanting to know if I can use the breakfast voucher towards paying for breakfast at the hotel? We're staying in the santa fe. Also, if we can do this, does that mean we can eat in any Disney hotel in the mornings?
I have a very picky six year old and a sister who struggles to get up in the morning  ;D ;D
I did phone Disney but the woman couldn't tell me anything  :-\ :-\ :-\

That doesn't sound quite right. The breakfast voucher isn't worth the same amount and therefore you don't get a hotel quality breakfast.

According to the terms and conditions of the deal, yes you can upgrade to a hotel breakfast. The vouchers are more 9Euro and the hotel breakfast starts at 16 depending upon where you're staying.

It's written - inquire about opening hours at the Concierge Desk. - So I suppose you understand that when checking in - maybe between 8 and 10.30 or so.

I was told you can use the vouchers from the opening time of whichever restaurant you're going to up until 10.15am.

I booked last week to stay at Davy Crocketts in June and was told I could use the vouchers at Café Hyperion during extra magic hours.  I rang back on Monday to enquire about paying extra and getting the breakfast boxes at Davy Crocketts instead and was told because we are staying there we get the breakfast boxes anyway.  However there is so much different information going around at the moment I don't know what is right!

I am confused - so if you get the free half board meal plan - does that mean no breakfast in the hotel anymore?

*EDIT* just read this on the official website:

Meal plans from 29 March 2017:

    Choose your meal plan:

Breakfast: This includes a delicious breakfast buffet at your hotel (except at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch® where you can collect your breakfast basket from the forest chalet located at the entrance to the bungalow area) per person, for each night of your stay.
Half board: This includes a breakfast buffet at your hotel & one meal (lunch or dinner) per person, for each night of your stay.
Full board: This includes a breakfast buffet at your hotel & two meals (lunch and dinner) per person, for each night of your stay.

There's been more than 1 cast member who've said it's not possible to use the free parks breakfast voucher as part payment against breakfast in the hotel. Last one I asked even read the terms and conditions that they had and it definitely sounded that way so if you're wanting breakfast in the hotel.id expect to pay for it. Although if someone has actually been and been able to do it I'll happily stand corrected.

Tbf it's right near the top of the offer details page: "Free Breakfast in a counter restaurant in the Parks for each night of your stay"

As for the part payment issue: "Guests can upgrade once on site to either character breakfast or buffet hotel breakfast by paying a supplement. This is subject to availability both on the day and the time." That's directly from the terms and conditions.

I'm so confused my head hurts!
We got the free dining - half board  premium - as staying at DPH. so can we eat breakfast in our hotel or do we have a voucher because it was free?
I rang and asked and they were adamant that we got a hot breakfast in our hotel despite the deal we took.
(Booked direct with Disney).

I read today on a Disney Facebook group that guests who are staying in the Disneyland Hotel get a hotel breakfast regardless of whether or not they paid for their meal plan.  This only apples to DLH guests, all other hotel guests who have had a free meal plan get a counter service breakfast.  The source was quite reliable so I'm inclined to believe it.

I have asked to UK official guest  care and they stated:

>An exception has been made for the clients who have booked the Disneyland Hotel :
>"guests staying in the Disneyland Hotel will not have to go necessarily to a Counter restaurant for the breakfast. They can use the voucher to have the breakfast in the Disneyland Hotel. Voucher may be accepted or refused due to availability. The voucher will be accepted by the restaurant with no extra cost.)."

If your room package is one that includes breakfast then you get breakfast. You won't receive the breakfast vouchers with the free half board so you can't use those as well.

I rang dlp today to ask about the 'free' half board plus vouchers included in my Newport Bay booking for 28th-31st July 2017. I was told that I could only use the 'free' breakfast voucher in the Parks. The voucher doesn't entitle me to have breakfast in my hotel. I was told if I wanted breakfast at the hotel for the three mornings for my party of 7 it would cost me an extra £393. As three of my party are children with small appetites I thought it very expensive.

Hi Alevion,
Hope you don't mind me asking what was the email address you wrote to? We are staying at DLH too and the lady I spoke to when I booked was very unsure, it seems this breakfast thing is causing a lot of confusion. I have spent days trying figure it out from reading all the posts on here and have only just seen yours. I have up-graded to full board so very much hoping this is definitely the case.

Many thanks.

Hi returned from the magic in May and we upgraded to full board standard. We wanted to eat in Santa Fe buffet restaurant and had to pay an extra €4 adult €2 euro child.
We paid the extra as we had a better choice from the buffet and didn't want the other alternative which is an omelette burger in the quick service restaurant in the park.
Here is a photo of my breakfast ticket which you will receive on arrival this tells you what restaurants in the park you can use these tickets at face value.

Just a little added info since we checked in yesterday.  Our vouchers are good at Hyperion and Bella Note (printed as a list on the bottom) but the print in the middle also says they can be used at New York Deli---so we will try that today.

Timing is from 8 to 11. For those of us with a teen and no major agenda---it was a big relief to see we can still get a little bite to eat if we sleep in and don't make it to the parks until almsot 11

Just updating info after 5 days at Sequia Lodge:

At check in the castmember only pointed out that the vouchers were useable at the restruraunts listed on the bottom (Bella Note and Hyperion).

The fine print higher up also said NY Deli in the Village was an option and somewhere at the hotel if staying moderate or Delux would also be available.

Sure enough, we used the vouchers most days at the NY Deli and also once at the hotel (from the bar area).

At NY Deli we could choose between a full size crossaint or a full size pan chocolate as well as being given a bottle of OJ and a choice of hot beverage each.  The first day we also got mini baguettes and butter and jam with each breakfast---but not on subsequent days.  When we asked about it they acted like that was unheard of (even though our group arrived half an hour apart and two different servers provided the baguetee on day one).

At Sequoia lodge, with each voucher  we were given a choice of any two:
mini crossaint
mini pan chocolate
small chocolate muffin
apple

a choice of orange juice or apple juice

and a hot beverage each

We never tried inside the parks and the mysterious omlette burger was not an option at the locations we tried.

As noted above, hours were 8-11

I hope that helps with planning
