Title: Awaiting Blue Lagoon... sorry! Captain Jack's menu
Post by: tubbsy on July 06, 2017, 11:41:53 PM
Anyone else keep looking?
We had already booked Blue Lagoon before the name change.
So I keep looking to see what the menu is going to be ....
And wondering if we will be changing our reservations...

We did eat there four years ago and DH and DD, who are not big fish eaters, had a beautiful steak each. I just nicked their surf from their turf!!  :D  :D
But yeah, if there's no choice for them we will have to change our booking.
I am expecting a pudding or two with rum in.... Then we'll know where the rums gone!!

I suspect there will be pinching off plates in our group too!  Rum deserts will go down very well with myself and my wife, probably not the little ones but there will always  be something on a desert menu they will like!

I heard the staff will be in pirate costume and Captain Jack himself will be going around the tables. I hope this is true because it would really add to the pirate theme.
You are there the same time as us 👍👍🙋🏻😀

We've booked for the last week of August and I am so excited about this one. My boys will love the pirate theme, although they would have loved the blue lagoon as it was. Looking forward to seeing the new menu.

I just hope they keep the cream flambée on the menu! The desert of kings! Last year when we ordered it, my drink was too close to the flambée and it melted my straw! 🔥😳

Watching with interest. Blue Lagoon wasn't on our list of must visits as hubby detests fish.

I believe you can order the creme flambee at silver spur from videos I've seen on you tube.

I hope Disneyland Paris have learnt how to do fish and chips, because when I went to DLP ten years ago they were more like four fish fingers stuck together!

Why is there a lot of talk about fish anyway? Do we know fish will be on the menu?

We have always fancied eating in blue lagoon but struggled with the menu choices so never have. Hoping for a more varied menu with more choice for kids. If it is we will book it.

Is it just me who finds it a little strange that the menu isn't available yet? Some people have made reservations based on one menu, now the menu is changing, how would the people who already have made reservations know if they still want to eat there?

Or am I just a little bit too curious to find out the menu?  ;D

I asked about the menu as we are going next week and have booked a table. I was told the menu and restaurant information will be online and over the phone from 24th July. Hope this helps!

This was said in the Pirates of the Caribbean Refurb thread!
Good to know that it's coming!

Disappointing that there is only 1 vegetarian option in each section and there appears to be no vegetarian option for the plus set menu or plus childrens set.menu.
Does anyone know if the resturaunts at Disney offer a vegetarian option for their set menus? Specifically plus set menus. Thanks

Not all of them do, no. Most restaurants are similar to this whereby you have 1 starter and 1 main but not necessarily those on the set menu. You'd need to look at the individual menus for each one. Weirdly enough I seem to recall the steak house of all places is one of the ones that does have a veggie option on the set menu.

It's France, vegetarianism still isn't widely popular there and whilst there isn't the horror about it there once was they still only really pay it lip service in most places.

Do they let adults eat off the kids menu instead if you don't like the adult choices? I know I swapped out a dessert for a kids dessert at Cafe Mickey before but not sure if they'd let you do it with the entire meal

I believe they do....

I have spent an hour working the menu out, but there are a couple of words that I (Or Google translate!) are notworking out.....

Has anyone seen an English menu yet or can translate? Is the Mabi mabi a fish? (Working this out as I can see it on the childrens menu!)

Theres also a lot of spice on things!
I am wondering if sauces will be a side or poured all over.

phew, Im happy with the menu and Im glad its still an adult restaurant. Honestly I was dreading them turning into another chips with everything restaurant. I need to see an English menu but it looks like its still French Creole Southern Louisiana style food, like what Blue Bayou is in Disneyland California.

Mahi Mahi is one of my favourite fish, it is a very meaty fish a bit like halibut so I'm happy with that.

Sad to hear that there's still only one vegetarian option that isn't even on any of the set menus, but at least it sounds like an improvement over the previous vegetarian option. I'll admit I was a little worried when I heard about the name change that they were going to make the restaurant feel a lot more childish, so it was a relief to see this menu.

I'm also excited for the specialty cocktails in funky pirate themed souvenir cups! I've always been a sucker for an awesome souvenir cup.

So Captain Jack's is supposedly open from today but I still cannot find an English version of the menu anywhere, not even on the Disneyland Paris website.

Anyone found one?
