I think it's just so many have been manufactured, whether they are numbered is another matter, I will find that one out with the certificate of authentification.  Whether more are made at a later stage will be the question..  :D

Yeah, you could say that Clarebelle... :D/  :D/

I'm amazed at how many characters are on it, with some of the characters you would have to look really close to see them.  Really clever how they have done some of them. :o

Also they are all numbered individually as I just discovered..  :D

Full inspection, later today...

Right here we go>>

The Wonderful World of Disney Christmas [Sculpture No. A1613]

From the floor to the top of Mickey's Sleigh it measures 17", and it's 9" at it's widest point. There is a total of 65, different Disney Characters, with a few extra random background animals, I've only classed the 13 Dalmations as 1 character in this equation. Also there are two moving trains, the lowest moving clockwise, with the next tier up moving anti-clockwise. Each train is driven by Mickey who features quite a bit on the whole decoration, there's even some hidden mickeys within the presents on the train wagons. The movement on the trains gives an illusion of them moving upwards towards the top tier, caused by the spacing and visual concept of each of them appearing and disappearing at intervals.  The lights are illuminated within the buildings on the decoration, giving a yellow glow.

The Prince and Princesses move in a clockwise direction, with Mickey and his sleigh at the very top moving in an anti-clockwise direction.

Power is supplied by a 4.5V Power Adapter or 3 AAA batteries. You have an option switch of either movement only with illumination, or movement and sound with illumination.  It has an auto cutout feature with activates after 1 hour of continuous use.  It can be reactivated by moving the power switch back to off then on again.. For the sound side it has 8 Christmas Carols that play at least a verse and chorus on a looping system, the following are played>>

1. Jinglebells
2. We Wish You A Merry Christmas
3. Silent Night
4. Tis The Season To Be Jolly
5. Joy To The World
6. The First Noel
7. Hark The Herald Angel Sing
8. O' Christmas Tree

Their is a volume control wheel for your own listening preference aswell..  :D

Another point, you would need to stand this table decoration in the centre of a room to see all of the characters, since they are positioned all around the tree, not just the front and the sides.  :o

I will hopefully get a shot of each character eventually, but it would be rather time consuming at present, so this will have to be done at a later time.. :)

On the first base tier the characters are: Happy/Dopey/Doc/Sleepy/Sneezy/Bashful/Grumpy/Mickey/Winne/Piglet/Tigger/Roo/Eeyore/Simba/
Mrs Potts/Chip/Cogsworth/Dalmatians/Lady/Tramp/Baloo/Mowgli.

On the second tier the characters are:
Dumbo/Thumper/Bambi/Goofy/Peter Pan/Pinocchio/Pumbaa/Timon/Zazu/Genie/Aladdin/Jasmine/Rajah/Sultan/Minnie.

On the third tier the characters are:
Snow White with Prince Charming/Belle with the Beast/Pocahontas with John Rolfe/Ariel with Prince Eric/
Cinderella with Prince Charming/ Aurora with Prince Philip.

On the fourth tier the character are:
Donald/Daisy/Chip/Dale/Scrooge McDuck/Huey/Dewey/Louie/Tinkerbelle.   Then circling at the top, Mickey on his sleigh with six of the eight possible other reindeers, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donna, Blitzen.  But with Pluto leading the way..Eeeee, good old Pluto..

Sadly masamune, no Cheshire Cat...   :(  Never mind... 8)

Any other questions, just ask....  :D

:P Pocahontas 2 is one of the better Disney sequels I think. John Rolph (or maybe Rolf, I'm not sure on the spelling) is an adorable character. I much prefer him to John Smith.

*Stares at the tree some more* :D Dumbo and Bambi look so cute!

its Rolfe I think anyways! well done for knowing it, I have never seen Pocahontas 2....

and its beautiful isnt it *dreams*

and it combines my 2 favourite things ... Disney and Christmas (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself to buy it?)
Title: Re: The Wonderful World of Disney Christmas Tree
Post by: Masamune on September 20, 2008, 07:47:07 PM
:P The only reason I think I can live without it is because I make my own Disney tree every year. Our Christmas tree is only decorated with Disney tree decorations. :D Even the fairy lights are Disney, because they have Tinkerbell on them in places. :) Lol, even my Christmas stocking is Disney, and the skirt that goes around the tree base.

That tree would make an amazing table centerpiece though. :( Our Christmas Winnie the Pooh snowglobe can't live up to that.

Title: Re: The Wonderful World of Disney Christmas Tree
Post by: Javey74 on September 20, 2008, 08:57:19 PM
Well to be honest burntsienna, I haven't seen Pocahontas 1 or 2, even though we do own them on DVD.  I'd just assumed it to be John Smith for some reason, as he seems to be mentioned alot with Pocahontas, I'd never heard of John Rolfe.  That's what comes of not having seen the films, I made the fatal error of assuming..  :?
Title: Re: The Wonderful World of Disney Christmas Tree

You've never seen them!
I'm more surprised about you never seeing the original...though I'm happy you have it on DVD...yet that just makes the whole you not seeing it a bit confusing haha!

Title: Re: The Wonderful World of Disney Christmas Tree

I'm sure it would be John Smith on the tree Javey as hardly anyone knows that she didnt marry him! I even heard someone FROM KING'S LYNN say that they didnt even know she was a real person!!!

John Smith was an apprentice of Thomas Sandell, the owner of Thoresby College in King's Lynn and When he was captured by Indians he was saved by 11year old Pocahontas. Pocahontas then went on to marry John Rolfe of Heacham, Norfolk. In 1615 their son Thomas was born (pictured)

This is an engraving by dutch artist Simon Van De Passe is the only known depiction of Pocahontas done during her lifetime, it now hangs in King's Lynn Guild hall

Hopefully I will cover this further in the "where I live..." topic

I was shocked when I was talking to my sister about it and she thought that Pocahontas married John Smith.

Quote from: "Clarebelle"John Smith was an apprentice of Thomas Sandell, the owner of Thoresby College in King's Lynn and When he was captured by Indians he was saved by 11year old Pocahontas. I knew she didn't marry John Smith but didn't know all this great info! Thanks for sharing Clarebelle!

Thanks for that interesting info Clarebelle, I knew the story was based on a true one, but there were other tell tale signs as the figure on the decoration has brown hair and not blonde as John Smith has, plus he's wearning green trousers which John Rolfe wears in the second one.. :)

I personally think more women will know about who she really married, as it's not a man thing this marriage lark, a lot couldn't care less in my opinion...It could just as easy of been Joe Bloggs

:D I have a Tink tree topper as well! :P Yes, someone will definatly have to make a Christmas decorations thread when the time comes.

:o And wow Clare, thanks for all that info. Honestly, I didn't know that John Rolfe was real. I thought he was just a new character that they made up for the sequel.
