Title: Lucky Nugget booking?
Post by: Zee79 on January 18, 2018, 07:07:46 PM
Hi, sorry if been answered before, but we were wondering if you have to pre book the lucky nugget for a lunchtime or just turn up? Last time we ever went in there was when it was all you can eat buffet with characters so had to pre book. Those were the days €19 for character meal :D We normally grab a quick bite but have decided to 'treat' ourselves.

It hasn't been a buffet style restaurant in a very long time.
Now it's a counter service style restaurant, where you get it served at a table.
And reservations aren't possible at counter service restaurants.

Yeah I knew it wasn't a buffet, it's been 10years since we ate in there and have seen the menus but I was just wondering because some sites have classed it as tables service and where it says "check with restaurant before booking" so I was a little confused when I thought it was counter service. We can just turn up as we were going to.

It sits at this rather weird half way house between table and counter service. You go in and order stuff, pay there, then they show you to a seat, take your receipt and bring out the food you ordered. I actually really like it as a system in that you don't have to prebook but it's a bit of a step up from normal counter service (and the stage entertainment is great!). It's a shame they don't have a restaurant in the Studios which is the same.

Thanks. Hopefully it won't be like New year when we went and we'll have to queue from 11:30 haha. I'm looking forward to it, it's different and as you say you get entertainment.

Yup. I tried to book last week over the phone and it wasnt possible. I know you can queue and wait but Im not sur if you can book directly with them when you arrive or on the day? Maybe someone else can clarify. The buffet birthday tea treats with characters was soooo much fun, but the guy on the piano is pretty fun too. It has such brilliant theming we love it!

Nope, reservations aren't possible at all. Beforehand or directly on the day.
Because it's a counter service restaurant. It's just the one with a tiny bit more "luxury" because the serve it at the table.
But it's still a counter service restaurant nonetheless, which you can't book.

We had a nice late afternoon meal in here, we were the last to be seated as they shut the doors after but was in no rush.  We watched the puppet show etc and it was quite chilled out.

The queues would go down quicker if people knew what they were ordering when they reach the front, think it still catches some people out that they order and then sit down.

I love the Lucky Nugget! For the reasons you have outlined, it's quick reasonably priced and you get to sit down rather than try to find your own seat your shown to a table drinks/food brought over. I wonder if they're still doing the puppet show type thing?

They were when I was there last summer.
