Any update on the status and scope of this refurb would be appreciated.  We've booked to stay in a lodge room in August.  What's the chances of us getting a newly refurbed room or an "upgrade" to the main building?  Is it confirmed yet whether its just the lodges that are being refurbed or is it main building too?

Mouetto from DCP has posted pictures of a refurbed bathroom:

Looks really nice, nice colours used in the bathroom.

Much better than the dated pre 2011 bathroom;

Correct me if I'm wrong, someone, but the main building is being refurbished in 2012. :(

I wasn't expecting it to be so soon. Maybe it'll be finished sooner than predicted.

Are they going to be repainted the wood then? Cant remember hearing that mentioned before, but there cant be many reasons for the scaffolding....

Haven't checked this in ages, but the refurb looks like it's coming on great! Definitely the rooms are looking a lot nicer than they were, and I do love the tiny little touches of Bambi!

Will definitely consider staying here again this year if I can afford to! :)

Please tell me they're not repainting it blue, with a giant Buzz on the roof?

Josh

Ha ha. Well you'd be more likely to be seeing Bambi than Buzz. :P

But if you look through the tarp, you can see that parts of some of the floors have been painted a in brighter brown shade. Interesting.

There always has been 2 shades of brown, look at the other picture a little further up.

That wasn't what I was referring to. :) It's much brighter than that, and doesn't stretch across the entire row. It looks as bright as pure, unpainted wood.
