Anyone here seen the movie "I Love You, Man"? Well the guy that played the character Sydney Fife in that movie, Jason Segel, was at the premiere of World of Color. He's really the last person you'd expect to see at Disneyland, checking out one of the new attractions. Talk about random  :D

Before he saw the show he said:

"I'm really excited, I'm a crazy Disney fan"

And after the show he said:

"It was, err, truly one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen in my life. We were all in the crowd just astounded, that that was even possible. That's, amazing!"

I'm half relieved by the videos, there are undoubtedly some amazing Disney moments in the show, Pocahontas and So Close in particular, along with the WoC theme which suits the show perfectly. There are a few issues with pacing, but I'm sure that they'll tweak the show and look at removing sequences what are slowing it down (I found most of the Pixar stuff a bit forgettable and pace breaking, Up seemed to be shoe horned in, and I'm not quite sure why they paired Bugs Life with Little April Showers?), if I'm right, didn't they play around with Fantasmic! when that first opened to get the show perfect for what the guests wanted to see?

I can totally see this fitting into Paris though, it'd be a wonderful addition to Studios, and would bring potentially the nicest night time show to Europe.

HD Video of the Grand Opening ceremony

Full show, Premiere Night. Probably the best video i've seen yet, but still doesn't compare to the live experience of seeing the show

[youtube:3k9ptcxq]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o0Icz6ExiM&feature=player_embedded[/youtube:3k9ptcxq]

And here's a look at the new park maps, with Summer Nightastic insert - also featuring the new DCA logo

These are scans I made of the program booklet they released to those attending the Opening Night event. The booklet contains facts/figures, pictures, all kinds of info. A pretty nice souvenir :) It was a fun night!

Actually, the best amateur video of the World of Color show I've seen is the one by WDWNTube on Vimeo. The camera is static (locked-off) and the video quality if very clear:

Just got back from an great time in the U.S. (done Route 66) topped off with 3 nights in Anaheim.  World of Color was amazing.  I agree that videos don't really do it justice!  There was supposed to be 2 shows on Friday but they put on a third due to demand.  They are doing fast pass for the best viewing areas (had to queue an hour just for to get the fast pass!) but it was worth it.

I do agree with some comments, like putting 'Up!' in there for the sake of it.  One of the best bits is the Toy Story Zurg bit - but the whole thing looked amazing.  The crowd went wild.

The World of Color Road Show began this week in San Francisco. The show will make three more stops in San Diego, Sacramento, and Los Angeles.

See the live webcasts here: //http://worldofcolorroadshow.com/

The theme for the first show was Love, and it took place at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. Part of the show is on YouTube:

The full schedule, along with some pictures:

QuoteShow Themes for "World of Color" Road Show

- San Francisco: The landmark location for San Francisco is not being revealed until opening night.  The first of the two Northern California shows will have a "Love" theme, featuring romantic couples from Disney and Disney-Pixar animated films.  The show will be shot from several different angles for the live webcast.

Show dates and times: Wednesday, July 7 and Thursday, July 8 and will repeat continuously from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pacific Time.  Encore recorded presentations of the San Francisco show will be shown online at the same time slot on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 9 through 11.

- Sacramento: The theme for Sacramento will be "Nature".  Forest and garden scenes from animated classics like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pocahontas, Bambi, and Alice in Wonderland will be shown in historic Old Sacramento.

Show dates and times: Live webcasts will take place Thursday through Sunday, July 15-18 from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. each evening.

- San Diego: The third stop on the road show will be the beautiful southern California city of San Diego.  "Water" will be the theme for this popular coastal city.  The San Diego show will project scenes from The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and other films on the U.S.S. Midway Museum at Navy Pier.

Show dates and times: The San Diego presentations will be shown Thursday through Sunday, July 22-July 25, from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

- Los Angeles: Los Angeles is the last stop of the California road show.  The obvious landmark choice here - the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.  The final theme will be "Sky" and the theater will be illuminated by scenes from Aladdin and Fantasia.

Show dates and times: Thursday and Friday, July 29 and July 30 from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.  Encore recorded webcasts will be available on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1 from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Did anyone hear about the earthquake in California that's apparently damaged some of the fountains?! :( I hadn't heard anything about it but on all the videos on Youtube there's comments from the last 24 hours saying that there'd been an earthquake which had apparently caused Disney to (obviously) cancel the show for that night and some of the fountains had been damaged too :( :( I hope it isn't too bad!

The earthquake happened last week (july 7th). Due to the quake, the shows were cancelled for the night in order to inspect the platform for any damages. The show returned the following night and it has been running nightly since then with no noticeable damages/changes.

A unique view of World of Color, from 1,800 feet up in the sky! Click on the link to see the video:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... 0-feet-up/

QuoteToday's video gives a unique look at the new, nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure park, "World of Color." This is a VIP view that most of us will never have the chance to see. While you can get FASTPASS tickets for a ground view of "World of Color," there's no FASTPASS ticket that will get you access this high up.

The footage was shot from a fixed-wing aircraft recently at approximately 1,800 feet above Disney California Adventure park. I particularly like the wide shot where you can see Glow Fest, "World of Color," and the whole city of Anaheim around Disney California Adventure park.

Pirates acts as the transition to the dark portion of the show with the villains. The storm segment of Little April Showers transitions into a Storm at Sea with the pirates, which then leads to Captain Davy Jones warning us about the "cursed places"

A new TRON scene has been added to World of Color! It plays as an encore after the show has ended. The new segment features new laser and projection effects on the California Screamin' coaster.
