Please paint Dumbo!

I appreciate that DLP is generally doing a much better job of maintaining the parks these days, but there are areas that require a lick of paint, none more so than Dumbo IMHO.  The paint on the ride itself and on the awning covering the queue is terribly faded, the brass fountains need to be cleaned up and there are large, unsightly patches of rust on the turntable in the centre of the ride.

Look at photos of it when it was new and the difference is startling.  Dumbo should be near the top of the list for a rehab.

Did it always make that loud squeeky noise when you move dumbo up and down or did that come with age? Always wondered! :?

The squeaking does seem to have become louder.  It isn't an attraction everyone rides, but it is very popular and, as the father of a ten year old and an eight year old, I see it many times on each visit.

Every detail impacts on peoples' perceptions of the quality of the park and Dumbo is a prominent attraction.  Perhaps someone could post some photographs showing how it looks at the moment.

Couldn't agree with you more. That awning looks so bad, like it's been in the sun for about 100 years!

I donĀ“t think they will do a big renovation, because there will be souch big changes of the Atractin for the 20th birthday. But a bit of paint now would be nice too.

Maybe this topic can be changed to Dumbo - Refurbishment  :D

Ahh sounds so good to say that !

From what ive read apparently the ride is being being completly taken apart, fixed with new parts and then reassembled.

These refurbs are getting huge, this has to be a sign that the park is trying to get all brand new for the 20th anniversary !

By the looks of it all the fantasyland waterways are empty !

Great news!
Maybe they're building the same ride as WDW/DLR is building at the moment (or is it finished yet?)

So glad this is finally happening, although I'm sad the Fantasyland waters will be drained when I visit DLP in June :(

No, they're not building a double Dumbo, nor would they have the space there.  It's just a refurbishment, which was highly needed, so nice to see the fountains finally getting some attention. :D
