I'm seeing several reports of the Central Plaza parade route light (and speaker) posts being changed slightly. Seems they've been extended slightly. I'd imagine this is to accommodate extra lighting for the final Villains show... or perhaps atmosphere lighting for those dark Halloween evenings?

If this is true, I'm really pleased. The really impressive stage and setting deserves a suitable transition into the night hours. The lighting before has been quite basic.

Quote from: "dlrpkris"The new Pumpkinmen models are now life-size to match their cousins that walk around... and just oose quality and 'Disney'.
They're still fixed to the ground with massive bolts though.

It is looking better again this year, but just in baby steps - repainting old decorations, etc...

Yeah, looking at the extra pics that are emerging, the change in scale and quality of some of the Pumpkinmen looks disturbing.

On the plus side, a new show for the NSSHP on the Central Plaza stage sounds interesting. And the Halloween Party Night non-firework display has got my attention anyway. I know he's selling it here, but it appears to have imagination.

I've been looking around and some projection techniques really can be mesmerising if done properly. In that interview they talked about making the castle look as if it's lived in (like the PM light show a few years ago) so maybe they could try some of these ideas too...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0XKmU5hF5s

Quite spectacular, but only as background effects. Perhaps not enough for the show itself. Maybe they could use these techniques elsewhere in the park during the party nights?

That looks spectacular!! Would be cool if they added some projections like this during the halloween party in the light and sound show!

The programme is online! And after just a few weeks of the old design, it's all-change again!

http://news.disneylandparis.co.uk/UK/EN ... arades.pdf

Have DLP actually hired someone trained in design? The Halloween section looks great.

Some of the names listed are a bit clumsy though: "Halloween opening Parade followed by Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade" - "Jack and/or Sally from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (C) Disney" - and best of all "It's Party Time... with Mickey and Friends... and the Disney Villains" haha!

Edit: Oh, forgot why I came here -- the English version of the interview Kris linked earlier is now online! Read it here: http://www.dlrpmagic.com/interviews/emm ... ival-2009/

Lots of info about the 31st October Party Night, Not-so-Scary Parties and Disney Witches Dancing Spells Party (that's a mouthful) - plus Jeremie posed the eternal question for us: When will Walt Disney Studios celebrate Halloween?

Yeah I saw the new programme design. Looks VERY appealing and is full of character (rather than the train timetable style of the older version). All the times listed like that makes it very easy to see which events clash with others... or more importantly let you pin-point what time of the day it is and what exciting things you can go and see.

I think they're wise to keep Halloween mainly in Disneyland Park. A more focussed event keeps everything richer and there's so much in Disneyland Park which can't easily transfer to the Studios without a lot of thought - HOWEVER - a hint of creepiness could go down well. For something like Christmas, there's no excuses though!

There are already some Halloween videos this year on YouTube if anybody is intrested in seeing them.

It shows the decorations, Character Express, The Pre Parade (From this year) and some clips of the 15th Halloween Show.

The Pre-Parade (and some nice Halloween atmos):

Minnie's Halloween Party Train (to the character express intro :S )

Slide show of great decorations:

It's a bit dissappointing to hear that the It's Party Time modifications are mainly just the Villains dancing at the end to the same music. Without a complete Halloween parade, the Central Plaza show always used to be where the seasonal entertainment could be found.

I hadn't realised that Boot Hill has its own Nightmare Before Christmas area loop by the way. Not sure if I like that or not.

What I do think is cool is the small alterations It's Dance Time has now go. The dancers have new Halloween-inspired makeup etc and the final dance away (instead of the Mickey's Magical Party remix theme) is Are You Ready for Halloween. Nice touch, just too bad lots of people don't bother seeing this tucked-away show...

The new villains finale to It's Party Time is far too long. You can almost hear the snores as guests fall asleep.

The concept works better than I expected and, like the daytime show, there's added pyro to the final 'bang'. Since it seems that this effect will stay, I hope for some added sparkle in the Christmas finale illumination show now :)

Some pictures of some modifications online. Not been recently so I'm finding it hard to see what's old and new. It appears the temporary lighting has been added to the permanant structures.

These extra lights weren't on the top before were they? :S Also notice the castle Christmas lights appearing...

Extra grass seems to be layed, but the old 'temporary' Central Plaza lights are still present in the background :S
http://www.images-squish.net/users/Free/26191.JPG

So was this really to make Halloween look better by night (with the new later Villains performance, or just so they can use the temp lighting stands for the new Tree Lighting Ceremony? Perhaps a bit of both
