Quote from: "dagobert"Our tradition is to have a coffee and a dessert at the Cable Car Bakeshop on the first morning after we have been on Space Mountain.

Amen brother! Only not including the Space mountain ride, but the first day @ the parc ;-)

Quote from: "jeakat24"Do you have any traditions that you simply have to do when you're at Disneyland?

Absolutely :)  On the first day of any visit I never go on any rides or allow myself to get caught up in any queues :)
I just wonder around the Disneyland Park and soak up the atmosphere, and when I've soaked it all up I settle down somewhere for a lovely 'First Night' meal. Then I'm ready for the fun to come =D>

1. Land in CDG and spend about half the during texting friends in complete french ( :P ) and listening to my ipod, spend the rest looking out of the window armed with my camera looking for the first glimpse of DLRP.

2. Check into hotel, find the room and drop the bags in there.

3. Head to DLP (didn't last year because of ToT, may be in serious doubt from now on because of ToT.

Another one is we have to eat at Cowboy Cookout at least once, nicest restaurant in DLRP and Annette's Dine, best fast food place ever! :D

:) Our main tradition is to always get someone to take a picture of us at the top of the Queen of Hearts castle, with Sleeping Beauty's castle in the background.

We always:

* Have dinner at 'Café Mickey' (or breakfast but I prefer dinner)
* Take a picture of the castle (again)
* Try to speak French (I said 'try'...)
* Buy fridge magnets (me) and a plushie (my daughter)
* Watch the parade every day during our stay (can't get enough of it)
* Go character hunting for photos & autographs
* Since or last 2 trips my little girl trades her pins :-)
* Me and my mum try not to smoke (I said 'try'...)

We have a coupleof must's
1) Always have a photo taken holding up the flying saucer at the Santa Fe, its getting harder now to find a different pose.
2) 2nd night we always wander round the shops in all the hotels and then take McD's back to our roome.
3) We take it in turns year on year to pick the first ride, this year we are taking first timers with us so they get to choose.

The very first thing we always do:
arriving by car and directly go to Salon Mickey.
Its magical to hear the smooth Music, talk to some CMs and enjoy the beginning of our Disney-Stay

The second thing:
Eating a brownie!
I love them!

Gosh this is scary, as I read through your posts, I thought we were the only ones that followed a ritual upon arrival.

We drop off cases at hotel, straight to the park, through the tickets gate under the station and stand .......

and weep. all of us, even nan and grandad shed a tear.

Up through main street, taking everything in, including the atmosphere, we always say 'wow it doesn't seem a year since we last stood here'.

Touch the castle and straight on to Small World.
Have to have a hot dog at Caseys at some point.
Eat at Annettes
Have a silly picture on Pirates (this year we are taking masks)
Have to have a pin each
10 year old has to have a cuddly toy.
I always have a nightshirt.
Christmas Decorations
Calendar
Have to say goodbye, see you next year when we leave, again fighting back the tears.

This year I am determined to have a meal at Walts, everytime we look at the menu and never go in.  :D

Glad to see that we are not the only 'weird' ones.

First get a space mountain fast pass, go on its a small world.

Walk through as much of Adventureland as possible between multiple rides on pirates.

Buy keyrings.

Buy bowls and mugs for family.

Eat in quiet corner of restaurant en coulisse.

Smuggle snacks into the parks!
