This trailer is great. I can't wait to see this movie. Besides Toy Story, Tron Legacy is the most anticipated Disney movie for me.

Quote from: "-breeno-"Nice trailer, it actually doesn't look that bad.  I've never actually saw the first Tron (keeping my eyes open for a copy though!)
I was going to point you to a copy, but it seems to have been swiftly discontinued. I'm interested to know how Disney will make this film mean something to people who don't know the original. It's a bit more high-concept than those 80s films you mention.

Anyone spot the not-very-hidden Black Hole poster in the trailer? :)

I dont think watching the original will be a problem. Even from the scarce dialogue at the beginning of the new trailer they packed in alot of background info - who, when, what etc. So I'm guessing they've planned for this. Afterall the majority of the cinema goers won't have been born when Tron first came out.

Oh, and the new trailer. Sweet :-)

Man, this new trailer is awesome. I have been sad and watched it about 5 times now. I was hoping they were going to show it at the Cinema when we watched TS3D yeaterday, but alas. The trainer for the Sorceror's Apprentice looked great though!
since 2001 (many before that)

Walt Disney Pictures has announced an event they are calling "Tron Night." On October 28th, Disney will be holding events in IMAX 3D theatres around the world, which will feature 20+ minutes from Tron: Legacy.

Sounds very like the whole Avatar Day stunt 20th Century Fox pulled last year. I'm guessing Disney would like something similar in box-office returns (wouldn't we all. That reminds me, must check the Euromillions !!)

Oh yeah, they're definitely hoping for Tron to be "this year's Avatar" aren't they? And I hope it is!

Has anyone got tickets for one of the Tron Night previews? I'm not sure if it's worth it just for 23 minutes, although it is still a long time before the release of the film.

UK bookings here: http://www.disneyscreenings.com (promo "legacy")
International: http://www.tronnight2010.com/details.htm

Also, wow oh wow: http://tronsoundtrack.com First preview of Daft Punk's soundtrack!

Thanks Anthony for the linkage and code. I got an email in French from the annual pass team saying that the cinema in the Village is showing it on their IMAX screen which frustrated me as I am there 2 days later lol. To now know it's a Worldwide thing is awesome. I went to the London IMAX screen of the Avatar day and that was cool so I'm now uber excited about this, oh, and I've booked my tickets for the best cinema in London so all is good in my World :D

I love the attention Disney are giving this film, it's going to be such a huge release that (hopefully) it'll put Avatar to shame.
Next visit to DLP: October 26th
Coaster Count: over 320

All it needs to best Avatar is some half decent dialogue and a hint of an original story. As for box office receipts, you could try wishing upon a star  8)

I don't think that TRON will reach Avatar's box office receipts. You are right that it doesn't need a lot to be a better movie story wise than Avatar.

In Austria we can't purchase tickets for this event. There will be a raffle where you can win tickets for the two IMAX cinemas in Austria. That's bad.

The viral campaign is up and running again. Here's a link to a mega test of Video Game Titles. There's about 125-ish hidden around the picture. I've got about 60 so far. Have fun

Poster released earlier this week:

Love the modern remake of the original poster, will definitely add this to my collection.
