Learnt this the hard way tonight.

Me and about 50-100 people waited for 30 mins tonight for Mickeys' Christmas lights.

Usually Mickey, Minnie and Santa come out and sing a few songs then 'light' the Christmas tree in Town Square.

The ropes went up as normal and the pre recorded announcements were made.
When it was time to happen the tree just lit up for a few minutes and that was it.

Guests were not told: they should have been then they could have made an informed choice whether to wait in rain for 30 mins to see a tree light up minus Mickey.

Not impressed with this DLP.

This didnt happen last year when it was Goofys Christmas show at Videopolis theatre.

For people that want to sit in the front benches in front of the stage they are now made to get in line outside instead of just sitting inside in the warm.

This is an unfortunate consequence of its popularity. Apparently the first day or so when they didn't do this it was absolute chaos so they've added some organisation to it, similar to how Mickey and the Magician works.

Just make sure that you're one of the first in line, and you won't have the problem of not sitting on one of the front benches

Firstly, most guests have never visited and don't even know that the characters are a part of it.

Secondly, it's a safety hazard. You might not be impressed, but I'm pretty sure that the performers are impressed with not having to worry about breaking their neck because the stage is slippery and dangerous because of the rain. You'll live, they might not.

You're more than welcome to perform yourself under a weather condition that's not safe to do these kinds of things.
Instead of complaining, be happy that Disneyland Paris puts safety first.
They could've also canceled the whole thing, but they still made sure that their guests could still enjoy an altered version of the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The frustration is fair. Its not a massive deal that the characters coyldnt be there given safety issues- but frustrating when youve stood in the rain and i agree an announcement really would wouldnt have been that difficult to.make. hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday still
This was the year everyone sat for illuminations and other shows. Id never happened before. No dissapppintment but it was very weird! Lol

Jinks !  I don't post a lot but eagerly read other posts and replies and just don't get the need to be sarcastic or down right nasty. Its a forum not a debating society so why not show a bit of the Disney spirit instead of going for the jugular at every opportunity. Remember what Thumper's daddy told him !! Having a different point of view is healthy and welcomed. However all the comments by one person recently have just been downright rude and snotty whatever way you sugar coat it. Just because a person posts a lot doesnt mean that they know everything about Disney and shouldnt make others feel unwelcome on this forum because they are less "knowledgeable" in their eyes. You should have a wee look to see what I mean as it has been going on for days.
BTW I would love Cinemagique to have stayed around forever too and am starting to panic about the TOT proposals but I'll get over it too. And that it my opinion that I can share without offending others...see it can be done😉 Injecting humour instead of venom is always welcome.

Although it's lovely to have cast member on this forum because they know a lot about Disney behind the scenes. It's not lovely when they're damn right rude in just about everything they post! Bout time to be respectful to everyone and understand that not everyone is a mind reader or a cast member like you!

Thank you for considering the bigger picture. You are 100% correct that being on the other end of sarky comments can be hurtful and really isn't what this forum has historically been about. There are always a few bad apples that take pleasure in making others feel bad although I am surprised at their career choice!

Completely agree. This is a Disney forum there is just no need for hateful comments like these.
