Talk to me about Disney Village

Hello DLP experts! I'm after advice about Disney Village.

I'm visiting Paris in a few weeks and, whilst I don't have time or funds to visit the parks this time, I have a free afternoon when I first arrive and thought it would be nice to take the train over to Disney. (I've been lucky enough to visit Paris many times, so I'm in no particular rush to get there and see the beautiful city sights this time - for a change I thought it would be fun to soak up some of the Disney atmosphere)

So my question is, is it worth the train journey for Disney Village alone? I'm quite happy just to browse the shops for an hour or two and grab some lunch. Is there anything else around there that I might not know about? Any particularly Disneyish places to sit or take instagram photos? Is it possible to go into the hotels without being a guest? Best place for a chocolat chaud and croissant? I'm obviously not expecting the full Disney experience for free, but I thought you guys would know the best way to experience the Disney vibe outside the park! Oh, one more question: I'll have a small suitcase with me as I'll have come straight from the airport. Will it be ok to take it into the shops?

Thanks for your help.

I would say go for it, as long as you dont feel too upset about not going into the actual parks.

Yes you can go into the hotels without being a guest. Each of the hotels has a shop and restaurant and bar area. Each of the hotels are themed differently. The shops at each hotel sell specific hotel merchandise. For example The Disneyland Hotel has Disneyland Hotel pins, candles lanyards etc etc.

The most obvious one to visit is Disneyland Hotel. The shop and bar and restaurants are on the upper level. The lobby is really cool too, lots of photos moments everywhere.

This would be my plan if I was just going to Disney Village

Shop for a while, have lunch, then exit Disney village to the hotels / Disney Lake. Explore Hotel New and Possibly Sequoia Lodge. Come back to Disney Village, have a snack and then go over to Disneyland Hotel. Then depending on time, maybe go back one last time to the shops in Disney Village

During a long weekend in Paris we traveled to Disney Village one afternoon just for shopping (and to a lesser extent Annette's Diner...) as some of our favourite shops for adult clothing and homeware are found there.

Had no idea you could simply stroll into the Disneyland Hotel though, will bear that in mind when we go next month  :D

I am just back from a disney trip

We were 5 days in val d'europe, but we only had two days in the disney parks (and a day in the lovely parc asterix).
on the other two days we slept in late and did some shopping in val d'europe and disney village. A very fun way to spend our days.

The highlight of these quiet days was to visit to the Disneyland hotel and especially cafe fantasia. Cafe fantasia is an cocktail bar in the Disneyland hotel. It is not the cheapest of bars. But the location and atmosphere is perfect. We had an alcohol free fruit juice cocktail (12 euros) with fresh pineapple juice, orange juice mint leaves and more things I cant remember. It was so delicious! We spent a good two hours there, just relaxing and sipping our mocktails. They also have coffee, soda's, and al kind of alcoholic drinks. Food wise they have some sandwiches, some cakes and some things to nibble on.

They sell the same cocktails in any bar in the disneyland paris resort by the way, but for different prices. the cheaper the hotel, the cheaper are the prices of the cocktails and drinks. So the santa fe bar would be cheaper than cafe fantasia. But the atmosphere form cafe fantasia justified the  price difference for me.

an other tip is billy bobs. It is a western themed bar located in Disney village. In the evenings they have live music varying form country and line dance till pop and rock. Don't know if there is live music during the day though.

Have a lovely weekend in paris
