Hello all!

We're looking to do a morning trip to Val d'Europe to do some shopping. As we're going in November I'm not looking forwards to a 20 minute walk there and back again from our hotel, but I know that there is a train from Gare de Marne la Vallée Chessy to Val d'Europe, and I've heard there are buses?

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get there/back? Anything there worth doing especially?

I would recommend to take the metro from marne la vallee to val d europe. Val d europe is just one stop away so you are there in a few minutes. You can bye tickets from the tickets machines in the hall of the station. If can remember correctly you can change the language to English.  Tickets are about 1 or 2 euros for a one way trip.
There are free busses that run from the hotels in val the europe to disney. Buy I dont know if you have to proof that you are on that hotel to be allowed on.

Are you staying at a hotel in Disney? If so, I would treat yourself to a taxi - €5 / €8 each way from beside the train station - if you're going to have a lot of bags (maybe even just for the return journey).

I've never had to prove what hotel I was staying at for any of the buses. Once had to make a trip from Sante Fe to the chemist in the shopping centre with no problems.

We're staying at Newport Bay- so we could just get on a free bus from the hotel to the shopping centre and then back again? That sounds pretty much ideal!

not exactly.
There are free shuttle buses that run from the hotels in val d'europe (hi park, hotel l'elysee etc) to disney and back.
They go from the disneyland bus station. located next to the train station. These buses are a free service for the people that booked the hotels in val d'europe. But I don't think they check if you are staying in one of the val d'europe hotels.
I don't have any experience with these buses though, I booked hotel Hi park for my next trip (in october) so al I know is the information I got from the hotel.

Yeah, the shuttle buses to the Hi Park, Adagio etc go there, they are free and I've never had them check for tickets etc. The entrance to the Val D'Europe shopping center is visible from the Hi Park and Adagio entrances, literally a few seconds walk.

If you don't fancy the buses, its also perfectly possible to walk - its a flat route with pavements and takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on how fast you are. Or you can get a taxi for 5-10 Euros, there are always taxis hanging round at the side entrance/exit of Disney Village near Five Guys.

If you get the bus to the Adagio hotel side of the shopping centre you have a 10-15 minute walk ahead of you as Auchan is at the other entrance. Not a great walk on the way back with shopping bags. I did notice however that a lot of locals/holidaymakers would take the shopping trolley and leave it outside the Adagio; in the morning a little van came around and collected them all (this was 5 years ago)

I was assuming by shopping they meant actually looking round teh designer village and maybe buying a new top or something, rather than grocery shopping in Auchan. Yes the walk all the way through to Auchan would take another 10 mins or so.

Ahhhh; see I've only done grocery shopping there so that was my go-to response.

As previously mentioned, take the free Adagio/Hi-Park bus, but it you're not sure about that, walk from the hotel!  Newport Bay is the closest Disney hotel to Val d'Europe.

Walk out of the Newport Bay car Park, turn right, straight over the roundabout,
or
Walk out the exit to that takes you onto Avenue Paul Seramy, turn left
Right at the roundabout
then 1st left (where you see the massive police station) & walk straight down until you hit the shopping centre.  15 mins...simples.
