First time posting! Just booked a trip for end of July, soooo excited! For the parade I really want to get a good camera shot of Maleficent breathing fire, where does it do this? I have seen posts saying not on Main Street, just wondering the best place to see. Thanks!

I've seen videos of her fire breathing down Main Street so it looks to me like she's allowed to do it along most of the route. She breathes fire at a certain point in the music (you can tell when because her head raises right up). You can probably get a decent shot most places along the route but up by It's A Small World or the castle would be my tips.

I've only seen smoke come from her mouth and not fire, but I only saw the parade twice last week so hopefully someone else can advise. Maybe ask a CM when you are finding a space to watch the parade? x

Definitely fire during the parade. we stood beside the towers on the curve from IASW towards the castle stage and she did it twice. We then ran down the arcade and managed to catch her before she exited the gates at the end of the route and she did it again.

She did it twice when i was near the beginning of the parade.

After you have seen her do it once - you know that when she moves his head up he is gonna do it again.

I was shouting at people at saying LOOK! They just looked at me as if i was crazy. Then they saw the fire.

Pic i took:

Yes thats the area I was in and she did it.

I assumed it is the driver - that activates it? If he in a good mood then he will push that old fire button! Ha!

IIRC it's all electronically synced with the music and position so there's set places along the route she can fire breathe. Worth watching a couple of videos to get an idea but I agree with by the towers.

I got an amazing live video of it as my home screen. I saw it once on main street through the window outside Walts and also saw it by the castle stage

I would try to get a spot with a long line of sight down the parade route. for example just in front of the bandstand looking all the way down Main St. If your camera has an adequate zoom you will have  more chance to get the photo you want. With being further away you will get a better photo and you will be shooting at a better angle and not from virtually underneath. There should be similar points along the parade to get a similar view point.

Although these are from WDW, the theory is the same. These were taken with a 300mm zoom, many cameras now days will be able to match this zoom or exceed it.

I would like to see your photos when you return and hear of your experiences getting them. Have a great time
