Looking at booking our ferry crossing and wondering if anyone has advice on travelling into Dunkirk rather than Calais?  I'm guessing there's not quite so many crossings, but have read it can be smoother to get out the port area and the journey down is still easy.

We did dover-dunkirk in May of this year and it was a lot quiter than Calais. Think we will be doing Dunkirk again  and thy still had loads of crossings xx

We also did Dunkirk in May and although the crossing is longer and the drive a bit longer it was very quick and easy to get in and out of the port area.

going over is fine, not much difference in time or distance driving, although crossing is slightly longer.

coming back, i don't think there are so many shops or restaurants.
