So I want to make my Mums 50th special and was thinking about going Castle Club. We have previous stayed in the Disneyland Hotel on 8 occasions and so another hotel isn't really an option (it's my Mums favourite).

My concern is that the view from the Park View rooms is going to be ugly as there's major scaffolding up and they haven't lowered the price to reflect this. The quotation we got is for £3348 (4 nights) and thats going mid March in complete off peak season.

Also the VIP fastpass would only be used on 2 rides as most are closed.

So in your opinion is it really worth the extra £2000?! You don't have to have stayed in CC - I just want your opinions. I kinda feel an extra £2000 is ridiculous since I could get her a Mulberry handbag and some jewellery for that amount but I really wanted to make the event special. The regular hotel offer is free half - board another thing to factor in.

In my opinion its a bit to steep for me. But if you could spare it then you should do it.
If I look at myself I paid extra for the golden forest club in sequioa lodge. Not the same ball park, but I thought it was worth it.
If I had won the lottery then I would do it just once so you have done that. A tick on your todo list  ;D
I can't look into your wallet so you are the only one who can make the final decision.

I am usually willed to spend a lot of extra money for a little bit of more comfort (first class train tickets, club level rooms in other hotels, business class on intraeuropean flights with regular seats ...) but even from this point of view Castle Club seems ridicliously overpriced.

I once stayed in the Empire State Club, the only real benefit was that we could take a photo with Genie who we never saw in the park but was there during the breakfast in the lounge.Overall it was a waste of mine from my point of view.

I love staying at the CC, we've been there 3 times and are going back at the end of november... However we are looking for GF at Sequoia Lodge for next year because CC IS expensive.

If it's a special occasion i would say go for it!

Made a decision and decided not to bother - it's not really the money thats an issue but if I'm going to splurge I want to make sure it'll be perfect and there's so much scaffolding to obscure Dreams from the CC lounge and rides not open to use the fastpass it's not worth so much extra for a character breakfast.

Booked to stay in a suite in St Pancras International Hotel for two nights pre-trip instead - we're flying down just to confuse my Mother who hates planes ;D plus this means she definitely won't suspect we're going anywhere else!

Hopefully going to do CC in 2018 when it's all pretty again.

Thanks for your help!

I'd love to do cc for my 40th in 2017, but my birthday is Feb and so much will still be closed so no point then either. 😞

I know I assumed the prices would reflect the closures and lack of view but sadly not!

My 40th in 2017 too and am looking to go in the October and likely to splurge but not sure will be CC as will already be peak prices due to half term!

Your trip sounds fab and love the idea of tricking your mum into thinking you've got a couple of nice days in London :-)

I thought about doing one night in CC but if I was only doing one night it would probably have to be Sleeping Beauty Suite (as thats the ultimate dream) - I daren't even enquire about that! Going to see about upgrading nearer the time as I enquired on the first day the Suites line opened for March 2016 so I probably got the maximum price possible.

Hopefully it'll be a nice surprise anyway since I doubt she's realised how long I've been saving and I keep telling her we're flying for 'up to 4 hours'.  ;D
