The opening event is this evening in America. We'll probably be in bed while it's on. Hopefully it'll be on YouTube.

I always watch Adams videos on youtube they are fantastic. I think Carsland is beautifuly done, and there is so much attention to detail. I'm guessing the main attraction cost alot of money, hence why the other two rides are smaller.

Very good video from Adam I enjoyed it. "Oh my gosh, that was awesome, just like being in the movie" he said, the smaller rides look like fun, too.  A new land based upon a successful toon movie franchise, a first for Disney ( with the exception of Toy Story Land at HKDL )  looks like a triumph. I hope Cars Land can do for DCA what the Harry Potter, franchise has done for Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I think it can. :P

Quote from: "Josh"I could imagine the flying tires being replaced by bumper cars in the future. It'll be interesting to see what feedback it gets once it opens to the public on Friday. (That is, if they're not stuck waiting in the ultra-slow queue for so long!)

Flying Tires is a reimagining of an classic (tho not very successful) Tomorrow land attraction at Disneyland called Flying Saucers

LPS trackless system was developed for Aquatopia, then used for Pooh. But still, the way they use it on Aquatopia it's pretty dull.

Luigi's Flying Tires is a modern day recreation of the classic Flying Saucers attraction that opened at Disneyland back in 1961. Apparently John Lasseter was a big fan of the ride and wanted to bring it back. And, as demonstrated by Cars Land, what John Lasseter wants he gets  :D

Yes, I know. :) And it looks like feedback is more positive than people were expecting. I must admit I'd like to try it. XD

But I can't believe even now the queue for RSR is stretching all the way back to Paradise Pier!

I was in Disneyland California in June 2013 and had a flying visit through CARS land. We only have 1 day at Disney so we try to cram in as much as possible. We just had time to RADIATOR SPRINGS RACERS.

We went in the evening time about 7pm and the queses were just as long as ever. We decided to use the SINGLE RIDER option. This is a separate queue which they use to fill the cars and make sure they get optimum occupancy on the ride. So what happens is , say there is a group of 3 people in the main queue, they take one person from the single rider queue to fill the car. Its a great idea if you dont mind being apart from your friends and it makes it more fun in a way, as the ride is basically a race between two cars.

ok so onto the actual ride.

When it was my turn I was directed into a car which had 3 other people. My friends behind me were directed into a car with 2 people.

And we were off. The whole theming of the ride is amazing. The cars race around the track very fast but its not like any of the roller-coasters.

I wish we had time to do it again. Hopefully when I go back next year we will have more time to explore CARS LAND

I love the look of Cars Land, i don't like roller coasters with the exception of BTM, so Radiator Springs Racers would be just right for me. Anyway it looks like Cars Land has been very well done and it goes to show how successful a movie franchise can be in the theme parks. I know some Disney theme park fans (not me) thought a new Land based on a Disney/Pixar movie was a step too far, but Cars Land proves how successful it can be, and i'm not a fan of the Cars films.

from the little I saw of it CARS LAND looked amazing. One day is not really long enough at Disneyland California, maybe next time we might try 2 days there.

Im not really a rollercoaster person either, I dont even go on BTM , but my friends had been on RSR before and convinced me it was something I would enjoy and they were right.

Since I live in Southern California right near Disneyland... I thought I would add my quick thoughts on the US park addition that had many fans in the US worried.

First off, I am not a huge fan of the Cars franchise. In fact, I would consider the second one the worst of Pixar and a ugly stain on the company that had such an incredible track record. The first one is... ok. Nothing that spectacular and certainly not that original. BUT... I do understand how it does strike a cord with people in the states. I am not sure how popular the films are amongst the general consensus of Europeans but the films are very popular amongst pretty much every family I have encountered in the states.

So when I heard news, I was disappointed thinking that DCA should have something more original or more incline with the new entrance Buena Vista Street (which by the way for any Disney fan... is like walking through the ultimate Walt Disney Fan Fiction written by someone who has done their homework on the details). But nope... just like Avatarland in Animal Kingdom at WDW, Carsland was coming with zero resistance from Disney.

When I finally experienced Carsland, I must say that it blew me away. The land is very immersive. Kind of like when on Adventure Isle, you lose connection with the everything outside the area. The details were strong and has a very Americana/homey feel. I guess for all of you not from the states, this would be a good place to experience the sort of the World Showcase version of America (Small Town style).

The attractions are amazing. Though Luigi's Flying Tires has had some problems with the technology and to be honest is most my favorite because it doesn't have the "WOW" factor, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers are stand out attractions.

If anyone has the chance to visit the west coast of the states, make sure you dedicate a day to DLR to experience Carsland as I did when I visited DLP.
