Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to change are plans a bit. We now will arrive late on Thursday instead of early afternoon. My plan is now to stay outside of the park Thursday night as it will just be arrive and sleep then go to Disney the following day. We are staying in the Sequoia lodge and was wondering how early you can 'check in' (may not be given access to the room but but just to get our park passes etc) I dont really want to pay for Thursday as we wont really get to enjoy all that the park offers as we are arriving very late in the day. Will prob arrive at the hotel for about half 10 ish on Friday instead is this ok?

You can check in in at any time, there is always someone at reception. Depending on how early and the how busy it is you MAY get your room. If your room is not ready when you check in you will get your park tickets and meal vouchers if that's part of your package. You will be told when to back to collect your room key. Again don't worry if you come back later than the suggested time, they will be able to sort out your room keys at any time. There is a left luggage room just outside the main entrance. There is no fee for the left luggage. Just check what time it closes though, as unlike reception it is not open 24 hours.

That would be ideal. We are staying in the golden forest so would be popping back for a bite to eat and a drink at about 4ish anyways. Another though could we use the Disney express in the morning? This would then save us having to go down to the hotel till later on.

We've done that many times, staying somewhere cheap off site the night before and checking in into our Disney hotel early the next morning, we usually ended up checking close to 8am (so that we could do the EMH that day)...

The Golden Forest rooms have their own checkin and luggage room that can be used 24 hours a day. When we went in November we checked in at 12:30 but our room was not available at the time so they kept our luggage and gave us all the passes etc that we needed and they told us to come back to the desk after 3pm. We made use of the lounge for the free drinks then went into the parks. We came back about 4pm and went back to the golden forest check in where they gave us the room keys. Our luggage had already been taken to our room as part of the service so we could just make our way up there when we wanted.
