Hi all,

Sorry if this is covered already in the previous 124 pages somewhere but in a nutshell I'm aged 40 from the UK with a 19 year old niece. We love DLP and I'm considering getting us Annual Passes.

Can someone with experience of the AP scheme and living in the UK give me an idea of whether this is a good idea or not. I appreciate some things are obvious like the more you use it the more you save but I'm talking about practical aspects, i.e. buying it, do you use it as much as you hope, does it really make a difference, are there any drawbacks etc.

Any thoughts appreciated and Merry Christmas to DLP fans everywhere!

Hi upinthesky

As you say the obvious is generally if you are staying 4 days or more an annual pass is cheaper. From there it does not really matter if you end up going back or not, but of course it does make it relatively cheaper trip for returns.

It is really only suitable if you are happy staying offsite. The more offsite the better the value. If you go for say a partner hotel such as explorers or higher then its going to cost more. We stay often in Colligien or Bussy Saint Georges, we have a car but for the second you could get to the train. For instance last August we had a 9 night stay in a Novotel with extremely good buffet breakfast for about £630, a room for 4.

The biggest intangible benefit of the top two levels of pass is access to EMH. Especially if you go in peak times this is a really great benefit.

Other benefits of the top level (which we have) free parking, 20% off in Disney shops, 10% off in restaurants and in sit down restaurants we get a 'free' what is described as non alcoholic cocktail, it's a very nice fruit juice.

So if you are staying offsite for 4 days or more then I think for most it would be worth it.

Enjoy

We got ours when we stayed off site, we saved a huge amount when used in the park & used it to book a stay in one of the 'better' hotels when we went the following year. We are going in July, staying in the Cheyenne but I am going to buy an AP so can save in the park & book again for trips the within my year time limit, esp a Christmas trip.

I've got some annual passport (sponsoring) questions:
I get to sponsor 3 persons, meaning I receive an annual pass for free.

1. Can I use this free pass voucher (I mean the "letter" I get, you know) just for renewing the pass or also for buying a new pass (if I make some months break for example)?

My pass expires in July 2015, but I may not go back before the end of the year (so renewing wouldn't be that clever).

2. (When) can I sponsor again to receive a free pass again?

3. I have in fact used the 18months renewing the last time. Can I use it again directly? if not, can I use it anytime (let's say after ,y second renewing or so)?

4. Everytime I make a new pass (meaning, I am not renewing, I am buying a new one), can I renew it for 18 months?

Thanks in advance, i hope everything is clear

Hey everyone.
Maybe this question has already passed here, but I don't really have the energy to go through all the pages :p.
I'm visiting DLP for 3 days in April. I've already bought my tickets so my question is not for this trip but for the next one.
I noticed that it's actually cheaper to get AP's than buy tickets for 3 days... Am I correct about this? I could just buy an classic AP then for my next trip? I know it's only for 280 days but still.

Thanks in advance! :D

There is nothing to stop you doing that... Just make sure the next trip does not fall on blackout dates.

In terms of the mechanics, the most straightforward way is to buy a provisional AP at the ticket booths and then take it to the Bureau Passeport Annuel at a convenient time. (In my experience from getting mine and doing several sponsorships, mid-afternoon tends to be quietest and the morning tends to be busiest.)

Although you've already bought tickets for your next trip, you can exchange them for APs.

Probably not. Only one-day tickets can be exchanged up to an annual passport.

As long as there is a price on the back, no?
