Great trip report , so helpful ! were staying at hny in september and it was really great to see some good pictures of it i dont know how you managed to meet soooo many characters ! i just hope we can do the same in september ! do you think there was so many around because it was main summer season or dya reckon thats just normal now? anyway great to hear you had such a great time ! and i love your hair colour btw ! im a fellow red haired person (not naturally sadly) but your's is an awesome red !

I'm glad to be of help. Yeah the New York was all right, honestly a little toooooo over priced for the quality, - like our shower was slightly broken, it took ages for the hot water to kick in, and the bed was lumpy (but i think that's coz i'm just used to a sponge mattress)

I hardly go on rides - that's my character secret. XD  Also just stay around the main character areas, small world doors mainly.
I think it could have been coz its the summer - i over heard a British cast member tell a family that it's just an opportunity for people to see more characters and princesses (but it just HAPPENED to be on 14th July, which was Bastille day)

Did you find it hard to get near the character for photos...was the "scrum" difficult?

Can i ask you some questions? Although you didn't go on many rides, do you remember any rides being closed in evenings or opened later during the day? I experienced the same with counter restaurants a few years ago. I'm going to Disneyland in 3 weeks and I'd like to be informed before i go so i can plan better Thanks a lot!!

Sometimes, but if you just stand near the character, they sometimes notices you or just push in before the little ninja's get under your feet.

Honestly, I didn't notice - all the areas close at 10 ready for Fantillusion and the fireworks later - so I think most rides would be open till later. So yeah, sorry - by the evening, we never passed any rides we just sat around for the parades. =P
But I'm going on the 8th-10th August so I can check then.

youve made me want to make my misson when i go, to meet as many characters as possible!!! so could you give me a brief list of wheres best to find them, and where the meet and greets are please, then hopefully i'll get some amazing pics like yours!!! love your report!

hi, we had to queue up by its a small world for 10am to see a princess when we went, how come you got to see so many by the entrance. Im so jealous, we we in may and there were hardly any characters walking about. Was it because it was may?

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous, we queued 30mins to see a princess each day.

advice on how 2 meet so many characters plzzz?

Honestly it's just luck - somedays the park will have lots of characters and another day could be none.  The characters came out a lot around the Small World doors in the afternoon - however a few (suck as Cinderella's Mice) came out straight away in the morning.
Also just read the program for where characters will be - such as the princesses like you said. But most of the time random character appearances can happen anywhere - when I went as said characters also appeared at the top of main-street near the entrance around 3 onwards.

But yeah, it's just luck - we sometimes just sat for ages just waiting for characters to appear - wait by the "cast member only" doors too - the green coloured ones are the best.  :thumbs:

Your photos are absolutely stunning!! I love the montage of the Aurora ones, she's so stunning!

Its nice to see a grown up chasing after characters also  I used to feel bad about doing it. But hey..grown ups pay more than the kids so we should be allowed to chase who we want!
