Disney's Fantillusion - Christmas 2011 season

Can anyone confirm if the rumors are true that fantillusion will not be returning this xmas season.

Yes, it does very much look that way I'm afraid... unless they change their mind at the last minute (it is 98% certain)

I didn't realise they were going to stop it this early! I was going at that time, too.

Where do you get this info? Fantillusion will eventually be replaced (probably next year at the earliest), but there are no current indications that it will be cancelled for the Christmas season.

They might not have room in the backstage area for them to store the floats from both the old and new parade, so it would make sense.

That would only make sense if they are building a brand new nighttime parade, which they aren't because they simply don't have the money. If they are going to replace Fanti with an exsisting parade, say SpectroMagic to name one (it's the only one available and currently backstage at WDW), there is no need for them to cancel Fanti for the Christmas season. Fanti only runs during the summer and Cristmas period. They have plenty of time (3 months to be exact) to bring over the floats from Spectro to DLP after the holliday season (in essence after Fanti's presumably final run) and launching the 'new parade' as part of the 20th anniversary celebration.

But all of this is speculation, even the 'rumour' that Fanti is leaving DLP. Interesting to see how this develops and if it's true in the first place.

tuvok, remember that Fanti was delayed by a year because it took them longer to refurb and convert the electricity than they envisaged.

It would be great if Fanti left and something else came over instead. I miss MSEP, and I really do not like Fanti except for the Maleficent float when converted to Dragon form. It is one of my least fav parades ever. Even Spectro Tragic is better IMHO.

Yeah it took, but then the problem was that the floats were not kept properly in Tokyo. At WDW I think they have every float in decent conditions so I guess it would take a lot less work to make them work. Basically just change the electricity from 110 to 220V and the lamps

When I did the 'Keys to the Kingdom' tour at MK last year I was told that MSEP was temporarily back at Florida because DCA could not handle a night time parade now they had World of Color and that although it was supposed to be for summer only, MSEP stay at MK was being extend before it is eventually sent to Paris!!

Maybe this xmas will see MSEP back in DLP?

Is it going to be on in October? we saw it last time we were there in the November for the xmas stuff, kids really wanted to see it again.
