These past few days the pool around Space Mountain has been drained as the Nautilus gets a spruce up ready for the 20th.

Please note the attraction (underground) was still open during this refurb.

It was about time. The submarine was in a really bad condition.

QuotePlease note the attraction (underground) was still open during this refurb.

[spoiler:qf9mgqgd]The actual attraction is not under the sub. In one of the Imagineering books you can see the actual showbuilding on the other side.

Although guests may believe they are visiting the submarine seen in the lagoon, the 'underwater tunnel' actually leads them in completely the opposite direction - just outside the public areas of Discoveryland, into a show building hidden by tall green bushes. The winding staircase into the attraction helps to disorinatates guests so they do not realise this.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Myst%C3%A8res_du_Nautilus)[/spoiler:qf9mgqgd]

It's quite strange to see the Nautilus like this:

Thanks
In terms of attractions, see here: http://www.dlrpmagic.com/calendar/closu ... bishments/

In Disneyland Park, they're currently working on Alice's Curious Labyrinth, the Riverboats, Nautilus lagoon, Captain Hook's Pirate Ship, Pirates of the Caribbean, the middle of Central Plaza and the gazebo on Town Square (or is that finished now?). The paving out the front of the park is also being replaced in stages.

Thanks
Also do you know what they actually did during the refurbishments. Was there anything knew added or was it just painting???

By the looks of it everything I've seen it is just sprucing up ready for the 20th.  If they had been updating attractions (i.e. adding Johnny Depp to POTC) it would've been front page news!

I didn't think they'd get it done that quickly! It's looking spectacular! These refurbishments remind me of Project Sparkle in DCA, where they're refurbishing pretty much everything to make it look new -- as if the park had opened for the first time.

The new Mickey flowerbed at the front of the Disneyland Hotel looks fantastic! It actually looks better without the hedges.

Isn't that exactly how it should be at Disney Parks? At least WDI and Disney always say that in their books and presentations- They have a name for that, it's called project Main Street, which means that everything should look brand new. I know it's hard to achieve that, but at least three Disney parks world wide are able to that - TDL, TDS and DL Anaheim.

The submarine looks great. Hopefully they refurbed and improved the inside, too.
