i've just thought f something, what if the works are not just more pavement for viewing, but maybe they are trying something like WDW has, with a moat around central plaza. that would be spectacular

Josh

The change won't be as significant as that for a number of reasons: one, the Imagineers decided not to do that when designing the central plaza and two, that would be way too expensive. :)

We can dream

InsideDLParis has posted new pictures, piping is in place for part of the new fountain system. It looks quite hidden, I wonder how it's going to work

I hate how DLP never create excitement or suspense. I mean, we all knew about WOC a good few years before that opened and were taken through each step with videos, pictures and blog updates. I just feel we DLP fans are kept in the dark most of the time.

Josh

I think it's because they don't want people to wait for next year instead of going this year. Heck, I definitely wouldn't have gone this summer if I knew they were having this next year! XD

Yeah, me neither. But the year is almost over, and with only 6/7 months until the start of the 20th celebrations surely (if this nighttime spectacular is as spectacular as many are making out) they should start creating some hype, at least within the fan community?

Josh

Maybe they will, soon. They're well overdue on announcing anything. I'm sure they'll announce it before the end of the year, though.

they might be waiting until they have some footage or photos of the show for a press release. if they are testing it, it won't be long.

also, they are completely different cultures. the american culture is that hey something new is going on next year, but i'll still go next month. the european culture is a bit more, "i'll wait for next year".
its the 19 year long problem of mangers from US trying to fit the culture there into the culture at DLP

SophieD

I'm excited for this new fountain concept show.. Although I'm wondering how spectacular it will be given that it only seems that in the past few months they have installed them..It doesn't seem that there can be a lot. (I hope I am mistaken) Also will this new night-time show also include Fantilusion or another light parade? I do hope so!

Hopefully Disney will release some spoilers for us in the near future =)

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.- Walt Disney

Josh

The majority of the work should commence once they can remove the central plaza stage after the Christmas season. And I think someone said Fantillusion will be part of the night. ;)

A stage free central plaza, can't wait

Ok so we stayed at the DLH from the 12th till the 17th of October and on two occasions when we were eating in inventions and the park was closed we had a view over the park and could see the castle. I saw the most amazing thing EVER. We saw fireworks on the castle and peter pan dancing up it and tinker bell spraying fairy dust etc. They turned the castle into a waterfall, there were all different projections taking place. There was a projection of the castle that looked like it was in sunlight even though it was pitch black outside. There were all different projections and then it went dark and back to normal and we only saw it on two nights. Has anyone else seen this!?

15MagicalYears

Wow, that's super exciting. Did you snap any photos by any chance?

lubynoo

no here's where it gets weird went to the window with my camera and the staff told me no photos were allowed?! Makes me think it was meant to be secret or something but you can't help but see it when you're in inventions as the castle is so high. It was strange I wonder if anyone else got to take any?!

I really hope it is something for next year and not just a once off random thing because it was beautiful.
